I will arrive from San diego at 3:15 pm by delta airline , and I have to catch a flight from KLM to amesteram at 5:45 pm , I have only a carry on bag , should I go through TSA again , can I make it ?

You will arrive in Terminal 2 or 4 and depart from Terminal 4. If you arrive in Terminal 2, Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security to Terminal 4. You do not have to go through security. You have plenty of time.

  • MEX to YUL (2:20 hour connection time in JFK)
    Jun 2, 2016
Hi, I will be landing in JFK from MEX at 7:20am on a Sunday. I have a connection flight to YUL on Delta at 9:40am. I am Canadian with a Canadian passport. I will be landing in Termnial one and leaving from terminal 4. Should I have the time to make my connection ? Thanks !

That should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly and is on the same reservation.

  • Arrival with Delta T4 connection at T2
    Jun 2, 2016
I arrive with Delta from TLV at T4 16:40 and have connection flight to Portland,OR from T2 at 20:35 also with Delta. Do I need to pass immigration, reclaim and drop off my baggage or can I just take the Delta Jitneyl train from T4 to T2 and go strait to gate?

Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, go through security and to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • 2 hours coming to connect from UK
    Jun 3, 2016
I would land at JFK from Edinburgh Scotland on a Delta flight. I continue on a different Delta flight to Atlanta but on the same reservation. Is this possible with a 2 hour connection time?

    Yes, that is possible.

I will be landing at 06:40 from South Africa, then want to catch another flight to Sacramento at 10am. Is three hours enough time to go through customs, collect baggage and board another flight?

    Thanks ZAP!

Amberrrkie, Yes, that should be enough time. Note that if you're purchasing two separate reservations then you will have to take your bags to your second airline, re-check them at their check-in desk, then go through security.

  • Connector

Hi I've never flown internationally and am going to France this summer. My first connection flight (all Air France) is from JFK terminal 4 at 8:15- to terminal 1 at 9:50. Will I be able to make it? On foot? Do I need to go through security again with just a carry on? Why? I'm so nervous now I won't make any of my connector flights

Where are you coming from and going to? Your post is unclear.

From RDU, I will arrive at JFK at 8:15pm in terminal 4. Then I have to be at terminal 1 for my 9:50 flight to Paris. Is this enough time and do I have to go through security again?

Yes, you will take the AirTrain from Terminal 4 to Terminal 1 and go through security. Note that your flight from RDU will be operated by Delta - you won't find an Air France counter at RDU. You should have enough time.

  • Walking between Terminals
    Jun 2, 2016
My 19 yr old daughter will have a long layover at JFK. If she walks between terminal 8 to 5 where she flies out is it an inside walkway? I just want to make sure she's safe since she'll be traveling alone.

No, those terminals are not connected inside security.

  • 2 hours lay over
    Jun 2, 2016
I have a connection in JFK coming to by Delta and flying from by Aeroflot, which is different terminal. I need to stay in line to get my boarding passes and then to stay in long line to security, Do you think 2 hours will be enough? I

2 hours is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

  • Landing Terminal 1 Delta and departing VA
    Jun 2, 2016
I'm coming in from Quebec on delta and departing to LA on with 2hours 6mins layover. We're travelng with Australian passports and will be connecting in LA for Brisbane Australia - is this enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. Assuming you are coming from Montreal you will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Montreal.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately it's not Montreal, it's Quebec City so no pre-clear - is that likely to be a problem?

Yes, that makes things considerably harder, Also, you won't be arriving in Terminal 1. If both flights are on Delta they will be in Terminal 4. It's still possible.

  • 2nd airport or arrival
    Jun 2, 2016
I will travel from Haiti to SFO by Jet Blue airways with 1 hour 30 minutes lay over in JFK. I understand I need to go through immigration prior to my connecting flight to SFO. From SFO I have a connecting flight to Asia. Do I need to go through immigration again in SFO? Thanks

I think if it is the same terminal, then no. If it is different probably yes

Yes it's in the same Terminal in SFO though from Jet blue to Philippine Airlines.

There is no US Immigration when leaving the US. You do not have to go through Immigration in SFO. You may have to go through security.

  • 1 hour and 19 mins to go from T4 to T1
    Jun 2, 2016
I have a transfer at JFK, i'll be coming in by delta at T4 and my Air France connecting flight is from T1. My connection time is only 1 hour 19 mins will i be able to make it?

That is very difficult. You will have to take the AirTrain to T1 and go through security.

  • Quantas to Delta
    Jun 2, 2016
I'm flying in to JFK on Qantas from Australia, then out of JFK on Delta to DFW. Can I make the connection in 2 hours? I'll have to pick up my checked bag and check in again with Delta, right?

Yes, you will have to claim and re-check your bags. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Terminal 8 to Terminal 4
    Jun 2, 2016
I have one reservation with AA fluid no from Norfolk to Calgary with a layover at JFK. I land at terminal 8 and leave from terminal 4 with three hour layover. Will my bags be passed through so I don't need to,check a second time? Also, do I have to clear security again at JFK when I go to Terminal 4 for e second leg of my flight? Thanks.

What airline are you flying out of Terminal 4? AA doesn't use Terminal 4. If you do have to change terminals, you will have to go through security.

  • 75 minute connection on intl arrival at JFK with Global Entry
    Jun 2, 2016
Flying nonstop from Athens to JFK on July 3 and looking at an illegal 75 minute connection on a separate itinerary. Both flights on Delta -- Athens flight arrives at 4:28 and connecting flight leaves at 5:44. II assume different terminals. I'm flying at the front of the plane, have only a carry-on and I have Global Entry. Can I make it? Thanks!

With Global entry you have a chance. Also, you could get lucky and both flights could be in Terminal 4

  • Will I make it?
    Jun 2, 2016
I have a flight from Mco to ACC stoping at JFK with a two hour layover. They are the same reservation and same terminal. I do have some checked luggage. Do I need to go and claim it? Do in need to go to the desk to get my next boarding pass? Do I need to through security again to get to terminal 4 if I need to claim the bags? Or can I just go to the next gate after I get off the plane?

You don't have to do anything with your bags. You will get both boarding passes in Orlando. You don't have to go through security.

  • Stopover at JFK
    May 27, 2016
Hi! I will be flying from Chicago O'hare with a stopover at JFK before flying to Iceland. The flight from Chicago to JFK is on JetBlue Airways and arrives at noon. The flight to Iceland is on Icelandair and leaves at 2:10pm. Do you think I will have any problems? Will I need to go through security again? Do you have any tips? Thanks!

Is it the same reservation? If not, then you need to go to baggage claim and recheck and bags if it was checked/went under the plane originally and go through security. Is the flight to Iceland in the same terminal when your going to go to JFK? If not, then you have to use the train to get to that terminal. If the flight is on separate reservations, then you might be good but security might hold you up. Though, if you flight is delayed by over an hour or so, it might make it a bit difficult. Anyway, if your flight is in the same terminal when you arrive at JFK and same reservation, you should be good.

Also, if your flight is in different terminals, then you need to go through security again.
