Hello, We will be arriving to JFK terminal 4 on EgyptAir, we will then transfer to terminal 5 to catch our Jet Blue flight to Orlando. We have enough time to do that as its 6 hr connection, but the question is the AirTrain inside the terminals or outside? And do we have to re check our bags and pass through security again even though its the same reservation as both carriers have an alliance?
The AirTrain is Outside security. Yes, you will have to claim your bags to take them through US Customs, then re-check then, then go through security in Terminal 5.
Hi there, i have a flight from Singapore to JFK (JFK T4) with southern China and am planning to book a domestic flight with Delta from JFK to Boston (T4) with no checked bags. 1) is it possible to transfer within the Terminal without exiting the customs? 2) if 1 does not work, how much time is needed to check out and check in again, but i find this very amusing :)
In JFK you have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security prior to your connecting flight. You need at least 2.5 hours, preferably closer to 3.
thanks for the reply! but if i am arriving to T4 and my connecting flight is at T4, i still must exit the customs even if i dont have any checked baggages?
I have an 8 hour connection in JFK between my flights from Bogota and Seoul. They will both be arriving and departing within Terminal 4 as I booked through Asiana and Avianca. Considering this is a long connection, will it be possible to go out and see the city for a couple of hours? How many hours before my next flight should I be back? Will I be even allowed to exit JFK?
I really don't think that's enough time. You'll be down to 6 hours by the time you clear US Customs, and you have to be back at JFK 2 hours before your flight to Seoul, and it takes an hour to get anywhere and another hour back, so that leaves you with like an hour to see anything.
Arriving into JFK 07:10 hr from Chile with LATAM and flying out 09:25 to Toronto with AA. It seems that both airlines are in terminal 8. Is this enough time between Arriving and Departing JFK and is it possible to book luggage from Chile to Canada with no luggage collection in JFK?
You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Our flight from Abu Dhabi will land at JFK Terminal 4. We need to catch a connecting flight from JFK to Washington DC on AA at JFK Terminal 8. How much time should we budget for to enable us to catch my connecting flight? We are not American citizens.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi. All you have to do in JFK is claim your bags (if they aren't tagged through to Washington), take the AirTrain to T8, re-check your bags, and go through security. I would want 2.5 hours.
Thanks very much, ZAP. We appreciate your quick response.
Hi! On the 4th of november I will arrive with two friends at 20:05 at JFK Airport in Terminal 5. We will be flying with Aer Lingus. After that we want to catch a plane from Bluejet which flies to Tampa and leaves JFK airport at 21:55, also from Terminal 5. We all need to get our baggage from the first plane and the tickets are not on one reservation. Do you think there's enough time for us to make it?
We are not U.S. citizens by the way, and we will travel from Amsterdam to JFK Airport. So we first take an international flight
It's named JetBlue. I think that's just about enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin.
