hi! i'll be traveling to atlanta from zurich. there's a layover at jfk of 4.5 hours. i got two tickets though. is that enough time? i'm flying in with swiss and the connecting flight is delta. there's another ticket that would leave me with 6.5 hours.
Yes, 4.5 hours should be enough time.
How long will it take to transfer from terminal 5 (will need to go through immigration and pick up luggage) then on to terminal 8 ?
I would want at least 3 hours between flights.
Hi, Can someone tell me how long does it take to go through immigration? I am coming Asiana Airlines from terminal 4 to terminal 5 connecting Jet blue. My ticket is purchased as one, not separate. And I only have 3 hours lay over in JFK from terminal 4 to get to terminal 5. or I could change into 11 hours but I figured that is a long wait. Please let me know as to how long does usually take from the immigration, recheckin luggage and then go to terminal 5 by train? Does 3 hours enough time for all these? or shoudl I change into 11 hours to make sure I have plenty enough time? Please help. Also just to make sure, is the transfer desk for my luggage right about the immigration or in a different floor level or do I have to take with me to the terminal 4? PLease help anyone...
3 hours is enough. Yes, there is a transfer desk right after customs in T4 where you can re-check your bags if they are tagged through to JetBlue.
thank you.
I am flying into JFK from Russia on Aeroflot. I will then be making a domestic connecting flight from JFK on Delta. What terminals will I be using and how much time in between flights should I need?
You will arrive in Terminal 1 and depart from 2 or 4. If it's two separate tickets you need 3 hours. If it's one ticket you can get away with 2 hours if everything goes smoothly.
When you indicate 3 hours... If the International Flight arrives at JFK 12:00pm, would I be pretty safe booking a Delta Domestic flight that would take off at 3:00pm?
That would be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I'm arriving from London and have 1:25 to catch connection to Richmond - I'm flying first/business class - all on Delta. Enough time?
Flying Business class that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Flying from Orlando to London Heathrow with a 1Hr 8m layover at JFK. MCO-JFK flying Delta and JFK-LHR flying Virgin. Can I presume that my bags will transit through all the way? I think Delta domestic arrive at T2 so I need to transit to T4 for the Virgin flight, is this correct? And will I have enough time? Thanks.
You might arrive in T2 or T4. You will depart from T4. If you arrive in T2, Delta runs a shuttle to T4 inside security. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hi all,

I'll be flying from Mexico City to Montreal via JFK. I only have 2 hrs to go through immigration and make my flight. Would that be enough time?
What airline are you flying? Are both flights on the same reservation? Do you have checked bags?
Delta. Yep, both flights on same reservation and yes, I have checked bags. Flying early April
Then that is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Flying from Orlando to Singapore via JFK 2-1/2 hr layover.....two separate tickets, both first class. Will Delta check my luggage through and if not do I have enough time to get my luggage from delta and recheck on Asiana
You will have to claim your bags from Delta and re-check them with Asiana. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I'll be flying with Delta from San Jose to London Heathrow (as a British citizen) and have a connecting flight from Atlanta to JFK in the middle. I wanted to enquire as to whether the time between flights was too tight. I'll arrive in JFK from Atlanta at 5:49pm with my outbound flight to London at 7.00pm. All 3 flights have been booked under one transaction with Delta, although Virgin are providing the flight from JFK to LHR (not sure what this means regarding luggage). Is this ample time to make the flight or is it likely too tight?
All you have to do in JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if the flight from Atlanta is on-time.
Delta is offering a flight from Dublin to Philadelphia connecting in JFK with a 1hr 29min layover. Both flights are on Delta and same ticket. Do I have any chance of making that?
Yes, all you have to do in JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 4.
Great! Thanks!
