  • Layover in JFK airport transfer

Hi, I'll be flying into JFK from RUH in a Saudia flight. I need to transfer into Newark Liberty Airport into another Airline (United) to fly International. They only gave me 4 hours. I will be landing at 11:30 am and flying out at 3:30 pm. Do I have enough time? and, Do you know if I can / have to pick up my luggage in JFK?

You will have to pick up your baggage at JFK to go through US Immigration then bring it with you to Newark. You barely have enough time if you take a taxi. Note that these airports are very far apart and it will take you over an hour and cost about $100 to get to Newark.

Hi am arriving on JetBlue from San Francisco Terminal 5 at 9.18 and I catch connecting flight SAA from terminal 4 at 11.15. Is there enough time to get from one terminal to the other. Do you have to go thro passport control again. Luggage will be dispatched through to Johannesburg.

There is no passport control when leaving the US, but you will have to go through security again in Terminal 4.

I am arriving at JFK airport from Manchester at 1:29 pm and my connecting flight to Montreal departs at 2:55 pm. I arrive and leave out of terminal 8. Do I have enough time to go through customs/security and walk to my gate?

No, that is not realistically enough time. Maybe with no checked bags it would be barely enough time if everything went perfectly.

flying from Rome with aer lingus, arriving time 6:45pm at jfk next leg from jfk with delta depart around 9Pm, will I have enough time to pick up my luggage and make it to the delta check in counter, tickets will be purchased separately

I assume your Aer Lingus flight is stopping in Dublin first? If so that should be enough time as you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. You just have to claim your bags in T5 and take the Airtrain to your departure terminal (T2 or T4) and re-check your bags and go through security.

yes, will stop at Dublin for about 2.5 hour to connect another Aer Lingus flight to JFk. then from Jfk will be flying with Delta to toronto

Arriving at JFK from Amsterdam KLM and leaving for YQB Delta airline with baggage, 1 hour 30 minutes inbetween flights. Is it possible?

If your first flight is on-time then everything goes perfectly, it's barely enough time.

Thanks so much, which terminals do KLM flights arrive at, and which terminal is the departure for YQB. I'm checking it out for my son he's French and never travelled outside of europe before.

Both flights will be in Terminal 4. He will have to arrive in T4, go through US Immigration, claim his bags, go through US Customs, re-check his bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to his departure gate.

Many thanks again, I guess worst scenario is that immigration will take too long.......

  • Terminal 8 to terminal 5 connection

HI. I'm arriving on a Qatar Airways flight (terminal 8) and need to connect to Jetblue (terminal 5) to the Caribbean with checked bags. I am not a US citizen, but come with pre-approved visa. Will 2 hrs be enough time? Thanks!

On two separate reservations that will be difficult. On the same reservation if you can re-check your bags at the re-check desk in Terminal 8 after clearing customs, I think you can make it.

I have a flight from MCO to ZRH via JFK and layover time is 1hr 26 mins, both flights are on AA (AA76. AA64), will ,y luggage be booked all through the journey from Orlando, is the connection time sufficient. p.s i am not an American Citizen

Yes, your bags will be checked through to Zurich. All you have to do in JFK on your way to Zurich is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 8.

I have a flight from Manchester to land at JFK at 15.37pm on the 5th of September 2016 to connect to San Fransisco leaving at 17.05pm, booked as a whole package with Virgin Holidays. As I've never travelled to JFK, is this enough time or not?

Are both flights on Delta? That is a fairly difficult connection if you have checked bags. In JFK you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Thanks for your response. Yes, both flights are with Delta Airlines. I was hoping that there was some sort of separate queue or something for connection flights to speed it up because less than an hour and a half doesn't seem much at all.

There's no separate line, at least half the people coming off your flight will be connecting anyway.

Hello, I m thinking about getting a ticket to arrive in JFK at 3 25 PM with AA , terminal 1; and my next flight will be at 7 PM with Aeroflot, terminal 1 to Mosow. Will I have enough time for this flight connection? Thank you!

AA flights arrive in Terminal 8. Yes. that should be enough time.

if you do not make it your a asshole

I'm traveling the same way. Except my arrival to NY is delayed by 2 hours. Gonna be there 5.30 now. Freaking out a lil. Moscow flight is at 7.20. What's thr best way to get from T4 to T1 I wonder..

The only way between terminals is the AirTrain.

I have two hours at 9 am to make a connection after arriving from Lima. US citizen. Is that enough time, if I check a bag?

What airlines are you flying? Where are you connecting to?

flying in from Lima on LAN, booked through AA and connecting on AA to Portland Maine

That should be enough time as long as the flight from Lima is on-time.

You should note however, that AA doesn't fly from JFK to Portland, Maine.

oops. forgot i am going into Boston, not Portland. Do you think still enough time if I check a bag?

Yes, that should be enough time with a checked bag in T8 early in the morning.

AA does not use Terminal 1 at JFK. If both flights are on AA they will both be in T8.

My wife and I (85) will arrive to JFK using AA and after that we will fly JFK to Washington (DCA) with AA too. We are both use wheelchair. Is there assistant through Immigration? and Will be the procedure to drop my luggage after Custom ? or Do I need to get out the terminal ?. Thank you

Wheelchair assistance will push you through immigration. Everything will be in Terminal 8. Yes, you will re-check your bags at the re-check desk after clearing customs.

Thank you. I have another question. Will Wheelchair assistance can also help through the re-check bags? Do we have to go through security again? Thank you

Yes, they will help you with your bags the best they can. Yes, you will have to go through security again after you clear customs and re-check your bags.

  • Re-checking in after a jet blue flight

Hi, I arrive tomorrow at JFK on a Jet Blue flight from the Caribbean which was booked on one reservation and have another reservation for a connecting flight on Jet Blue but they could not link the two reservations for me, so I have to re-check in for my next flight after clearing customs, can anyone help me as to where or how close the check in is after clearing customs as I have to re check my bags as well. Thanks for any help you can give me.

You just have to go up to the departure level. It shouldn't take much time at all.
