  • Two Itineraries JFK Rome

Flying Alitalia from Rome (FCO) to JFK and connecting to AA back to SFO. I will have 3hr 15min between flights. I will not have any checked bags. These are two itineraries. Do you think there will be plenty of time to get through customs, immigration, take the air train to the AA terminal and then catch the flight back to SFO? Thanks for your input!

That should be just enough time if your flight from Rome is on-time. Check in online for your flight to SFO before leaving Rome.

I am flying from Chicago to JFK, going in to terminal 2. I have a 57 minute layover. Is that enough time to make it to an international flight leaving from terminal 4?

Delta flights from Chicago to JFK arrive in Terminal 4. You have enough time if both flights are on Delta. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If for some reason you do arrive in T2, Delta has a shuttle bus that runs inside security to T4.

  • Jet Blue to international airport

Hello, we're flying tomorrow night into JFK with JetBlue from Tampa, arriving at 11:40 PM. Our next international flight is with China airline at 1:35 AM. The flights are booked together. How much time would I need to get from one terminal to the next? How do I get there? Thanks in advance!

You have to take the AirTrain from Terminal 5 to Terminal 4 and go through security. You should have just enough time. Note that China Airlines and Air China are two separate airlines. China Airlines is the one that flies to Taipei.

  • From terminal 5 to Terminal 1

If I arrive at Terminal 5 at 8:00PM and my second flight departs from Terminal 1 at 10PM will I make it, and do I have to claim my bags and re-check them ?

Where are you flying from into Terminal 5? Are both tickets on the same reservation or are they on two separate reservations? What airlines are you flying? I can't answer your question with the information you have provided.

Sorry, I am flying fromThe caribbean, St Lucia with Jetblue to Terminal5 and then with Norwegian to Oslo from Terminal1. Tickets are booked separately..

Then, yes, in Terminal 5 you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs, then you would have to take the AirTrain to Terminal 1, re-check your bags with Norwegian, and go through security. There is ZERO chance that you can make this connection.

What about travelling without luggage, if only a carry-on?

Then maybe you'd barely have a chance if everything went perfectly.

We are landing in JFK tonight at 11 in Terminal 2, due to weather delays. My international flight leaves at 1130 from terminal 1. Do I have enough time to make it, and how do I get there?

You get between terminals using the AirTrain. However, you have to go through security again in T1. You won't make your connection unless that flight is also delayed.

we'll arrive at JFK with AirItaly flight at 1PM, have I enough time and what I have to do to catch flight DELTA to LAX at 5:06 PM? thanks

You may need to switch terminals which should not be a problem Delts JFK-LAX is in T4. arrive 1 pm, out of customs by 2pm, then to T4 by 2:30-2:45. Security 30 minutes, walk to gate 30 minutes. Board at 4:20. Just enough time. Plenty of food choices before you board.

If both tickets are on the same reservation, You will arrive in T1, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the AirTrain to T4, go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

I am flying from LHR to JFK arrive at 1150 terminal 4. I have a connecting flight with the same airline at 1330 from terminal 4. Will I have enough time with having to clear customs etc and bags to re check?

Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes perfectly.

it depends. If you have Global entry, yes. If not, you could have a 2 hour delay getting through customs and then another delay going back through security - Again: Global entry = access to TSA pre lines. I was at JFK on Tues and lines for customs were LONG.

  • Terminal 4: South African Airways to West Jet

If I am arriving to Terminal 4 via South African Airways at 6:40am (from JNB) and have a connecting flight booked separately departing on West Jet at 7:59am (to YYZ) also in terminal 4, is this enough time? I will only have carry on baggage, and I am a Canadian citizen.

Westjet does not fly from JFK to YYZ. Please double check your reservation to make sure it is not from LGA. If it is from LGA this connection is completely impossible. Even as it is it is very very difficult.

I haven't booked anything yet but the flight I am looking at is this: WestJet Flight 6324 (Q) Departs: Sun Nov 20 7:59am New York - NY, John F Kennedy International (JFK) Arrives: Sun Nov 20 9:51am Toronto - ON, Pearson International (YYZ) It's Operated by Endeavor Air, so a code share with Delta? Does that make more sense?

OK. That flight is a Delta Connection flight. Still, a very very difficult connection.

Okay thank you. What about an American airways flight departing from terminal 8 at 9:25am. Would there be enough time to get from terminal 4 from the same arrival flight? Last question.

No way you could get out of T4 and over to T8 in that time frame - even without customs. It takes a good 30 - 40 minutes just to walk from your gate to the airtrain - T4 is HUGE - over a mile from one end to the other and the carts do not come very often. I do not suggest such a short connection.

Hi, My daughter comes in from Amsterdam tomorrow night on KLM (Friday the 1st) at 7:20 at term 4. She has a 9 pm flight on Sun Country to Minneapolis. Is that cutting things too close? She's been in the terminal many times so she knows the layout if that helps at all.

Without checked bags she can probably make it. With checked bags, probably not.

I'm arriving via Air Serbia from Belgrade to JFK Terminal 4 at noon. Then on a seperate booking, I fly domestic from JFK to Tampa at 2:55PM. I know my bag won't be checked through, what do I do once I get to JFK to make sure everything goes well? Is this an alright amount of time?

You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through Customs, then take your bags to the check in desk for the airline you are flying to Tampa (if it's in another terminal you take the airtrain to get there), check your bags and get your boarding pass, and go through security. You have enough time if your flight from Belgrade is not. However, the Air Serbia flight is often delayed.

  • Enough time to get through immigration?

We are flying to Orlando (Disney holiday) with Delta from Edinburgh. We arrive into JFK at 15:49 and our flight to Orlando leaves at 18:25. Both with delta, will we have enough time to get through. Or do we go through immigration in Orlando? Sorry first time travelling with kids overseas.

In JFK you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

My parents will fly from Milan Malpensa, MXP to JFK with Alitalia toward the end of July and will have a connecting flight with Delta 2 1/2 hours later TO DFW. Will they have enough time to clear custom and go through security again? Will they need to change terminal? They don't speak English and I'm afraid they will get lost

Yes, that should be enough time. Yes they will arrive in terminal 1 and depart from Terminal 4.

In September I'll be arriving on Jet Blue from Orlando and transferring to Iceland Air to Iceland and Paris. Booked one ticket via Iceland Air. The time between flights is 2 hours, is this enough time?

That is do able. If the first flight is on time

  • From YYZ to JFK to LIR with 1h 15m connection

I am coming from Toronto, Canada tomorrow morning to JFK airport and have a 1h 15m connection before boarding my flight to Liberia Costa Rica. Will this be enough time to get to my connecting flight. I will be flying with Delta both flights.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which will both likely be in Terminal 4. You have enough time.

Hi. Flying KLM from Birmingham UK to Amsterdam, and then Amsterdam to JFK on Delta 47 arriving 11.47, then JFK to Orlando on Delta 426 leaving 13.33. Will we have to collect baggage in NY? And is 1hr 46mins enough time?

Yes, in JFK you will arrive in Terminal 4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk and go through security and to your departure gate, also in Terminal 4. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
