Is an hour and 20 minutes enough time for a connection on Delta from Salt Lake to AirFrance to Paris? Two tickets but partner airlines.
If the flight to Paris is operated by Air France you will have to take the AirTrain to Terminal 1 and go through security. It's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

I'd be arriving at JFK on Delta flight DL1 at 1330 and departing on Delta flight DL4136 from JFK at 1455 meaning I have 1hr 25mins to make the connection. Is this enough time? Would I have to clear customs and would I have to re-check my bag back in? I believe both flights are from terminal 4?

Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate. 85 minutes is really pushing it and is far less than I recommend.
Thanks Zap, the Delta helpdesk are telling me that they would handle the bags being transferred between flights and that I'd just have to get myself through customs. Is this incorrect?
Yes and no, YOU have to claim the bags to bring them through customs, but you can drop them off right after, so technically, THEY are actually transferring them between flights by way of you at the International baggage claim.
Hi Tom,

I have a similar issue flying Heathrow to Chicago via JFK with 95 min connection time. How did your connection work out?

Thanks for any help you can give!
Hi, fly into JFK on Jet blue flight landing at 9:19pm fly out to Heathrow with BA at 11:10. We have checked bags, are we going to make it? Thanks
With checked bags it will be very difficult for you to get them to the BA check-in desk in Terminal 7 before the bag check cutoff. But it's not impossible if everything goes perfectly.
Is 45 mins enough time to go from a domestic terminal (coming from CLT) to Terminal 4?
there is no "domestic terminal" at JFK. What airlines are you flying? Do you have checked bags?

I plan to arrive in JFK at 12:50 with flight SN501 from BRU and then connect flight DL to DCA at 15:00. They are two separate tickets. Would that leave enough time to clear customs and make the next flight? I have Global entry and have carry-on only.
With global entry and only carry-ons, that should be enough time. Check in for your flight to DCA online before leaving Brussels.
Thank you very much!
I am flying in from Istanbul and switching to a jetblue ticket. I will need to re-check my bags. How much time do I need to allow in JFK.
At least 3 hours.
Hi, planning to arrive in JFK at 13:30 with flight DL419 from MXP and then board flight DL429 to SDQ at 15:00. Would that leave enough time to clear customs and make the next flight? Will I need to pick up luggage and recheck them in like in MIA or is there a transfer service and checked luggage goes through? Thank You for your help.
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security. You have just enough time if your flight from Milan is on-time.
In august we're flying from Manchester UK (Delta) into JFK Terminal 4. We have booked a separate ongoing flight (AA) from JFK TO CHARLOTTE NC. We had allowed 5 hours between the 2 separate flights to clear immigration, collect checked luggage, change from Terminal 4 to Terminal 8 and check in for our 2nd separate flight to Charlotte. The flights have been changed, and now we only have 2 hours. Will that be enough time. We're worried that we'll have to pay to change our 2nd flight to Charlotte, through no fault of our own, because the 2 flights were booked separately.
No, 2 hours is not enough time. Reject the schedule change on the flight that changed and get a refund or alternate routing.
What is the process for flying domestic into Terminal 2 (Delta) and then changing airlines to fly international from Terminal 3 (Aeroflot)?

Same question regarding the return flight. Flying international into Terminal 3 (Aeroflot) and transferring to Terminal 2 (Delta) for a domestic flight

How much time should I allow in between flights on each trip?
Correction on terminals
Delta is Terminal 4 and Aeroflot is Terminal 1
On your way to Russia 90 minutes is acceptable. You just have to take the AirTrain to T1 and go through security. On the return you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the AirTrain to T4 and go through security.
We booked the domestic flight separate from the Russia flight. So I am assuming we will have to pick up our luggage at Baggage Claim and then go to T1 to check in for the international flight to Russia. Correct?
That is correct, which means I'd want 3 hours.
What about on the return flight?
After going through Customs and Immigration, are you able to recheck your bags a the re-check desk even if you are now on a different airlines?
No, you can't. You'll have to take it to your departure terminal with you and re-check it there.
How much time due you recommend between flights in the return leg of this trip in order to get through customs and then recheck our luggage at the different Terminal?
We're flying into Terminal 4 on Delta on a Thursday--arriving at 5:30 p.m. Our flight to Italy is on Alitalia leaving from Terminal 1 at 8:30 p.m.. Is that enough time to make the connection? What ground transport should we use to move between terminals? Thanks.
If your first flight is domestic that is plenty of time. The only way between Terminals is the AirTrain, which runs outside security.
Yes, LAX to JFK. Thanks for the information.
