We are looking at flying from Barbados to jfk to then get our flights back to the uk. jetblue we know lands in terminal 7 and we fly from terminal 5 how long should we leave in-between our arriving flight and the outbound flight to the uk. We are guessing we would have to pick up our bags change terminals and then again check in our bags again? Thanks in advance.
You have your terminals reversed. JetBlue will arrive in Terminal 5 and a British Airways flight will depart from Terminal 7. You need at least 3 hours between flights, preferably a little more.
Firstly, I would just like to say thank you for this site!
I am a Singaporean and will be flying from Singapore to JFK on Singapore Airlines and from JFK to Boston on Jet Blue. (Both flights purchased separately) From the other comments I have read, it looks like I will have to clear immigration, collect luggage, take the airtrain to terminal 5 and then re-check in luggage with Jet Blue and clear security. Is this correct? If not, could you please advise. Thank you.
Yes, that is correct.
Thank you. One more quick question if you don't mind.
I'm supposed to arrive at 11.10am. Do you think it is too rush if I get the 1pm flight to Boston on Delta Airlines?
The alternative flight is to take the 2.59 flight with Jet blue...
I would take the 2:59 flight. I don't think you could get your bags to the counter in T5 by the bag check cutoff for the 1 PM flight.
I have a flight landing at Terminal 4 - JFK New York at 16.40 on 26 March 2017, via an Etihad flight and then want to book a JetBlue flight to Las Vegas at 19:05 departing from Terminal 5.
Will 2.5 hours be sufficient time to get from Terminal 4 to 5, taking immigration and baggage check-in into account.
Will 2.5 hours be enough time for me to collect my luggage at JFK and check in at Jet Blue counter.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi. All you have to do in JFK is claim your bags, take them with you on the AirTrain to T5, check them with JetBlue, and go through security. You should have enough time.
Thanks for the feedback, why would I pre-clear immigration in Abu Dhabi. Would I not be required to check-in at passport control in New York.
You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi because they have a preclearance facility there and everybody on your flight will. This takes care of such procedures that you would normally have to do in JFK.
Flying in from DC on Delta at 7:20 and need to make a JFK flight to Bermuda at 8am. Carry on only. Any way this is humanly possible?
Yes, it's possible if the first flight is on-time. However, it is possible you will arrive in Terminal 2 and depart from Terminal 4. There is a shuttle that connects them inside security but it obviously takes time, making this connection very difficult.
I will be traveling from Morrocco into JFK, presentimg my permanent residence visa at customs... Do I get my luggage after customs then proceed to check in at Jetblue? Is Royal Moroccan Airlines far from Jet blue? Is 3 hours enough time to present my visa, get my luggage, check in at jetblue and make my flight?
Check in for your JetBlue flight online before you leave Morocco. You will arrive in Terminal 1, go through US Immigration (this is where your visa is processed), then claim your bags. If your bags are tagged through to your final destination, then you re-check your bags at the re-check desk, otherwise, you will take your bags with you to Terminal 5 where JetBlue departs on the AirTrain, check your bags with them if you haven't already, then go through security and to your departure gate. 3 hours is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
What is the airtrain? Is jetblue far from the Intl. Terminal? Is the recheck desk close to customs? Thank you this is great information.
The re-check desk is just outside customs. The AirTrain is a train that runs between all the Terminals outside security. You arrive in Terminal 1 and depart from Terminal 5. There is no Terminal 3, so you will stop at 2 and 4 on your way to 5 on the AirTrain.
us citizen arriving terminal 2 on delta....will be departing for lhr terminal 4 on delta....will i have to retrieve bags to make connection..how to get from terminal 2 to 4 quickly...have 1 hr 15 min.
Where are you flying from and to? If both flights are on Delta you shouldn't have to do anything with your bags in JFK unless you're on an international arrival, in which case you won't arrive in Terminal 2.
charleston sc to jfk to london heathrow all on delta
Yes, then if you arrive in Terminal 2 all you have to do is take the shuttle bus to Terminal 4 and walk to your departure gate. The shuttle runs inside security. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
I'll arrive to JFK at 20:15 terminal 4 and have to take a connection flight to Reykjavik at 21:25 (same terminal) do I have time I'm travelling with the same airline KLM but not sure if I have to check in once again.
Actually both flights are on Delta. If the first flight is enough time - all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You do not have to check in again.
thanks so in this case the checked baggage arrives at iceland?
Yes, you don't have to claim your bags in JFK. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
Hi all, Will be coming on QatarAirways from Doha non US citizen and them we have 3 hrs to catch up a domestic flight with BlueJet. Is that enough time? Also as our flights and not connected, will we need to claim our baggage and check in? If so, is the timing enough? Many thanks in advance.
Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, take the airTrain to Terminal 5, re-check it with JetBlue, then go through security. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Thanks a lot! Both are at same terminal?
No, you will arrive in Terminal 7 or 8 and depart from Terminal 5.
Traveling from Milan on Emeriates which is terminal 4, arriving at JFK at 7pm. Will have only carry on bags, no checked bags, am a US citizen. How much time do I need to go through everything once arriving there? I am booking a flight on a separate ticket and my "best" options are with Delta (also terminal 4), at 7:45 (assuming that's not enough time!) or JetBlue, which is terminal 5, at 8:40... Is that enough time? Just me and husband and we can walk fast :)
The 8:40 is barely possible if everything goes perfectly and you check in online for your JetBlue flight before leaving Milan.
