  • Arriving at terminal 4 and leaving from terminal 1

I am arriving at terminal 4 at 12.09 pm and leaving from terminal 1 at 14.25. Is it enough time if I will need to check baggage? What is the best way to get to terminal 1?

The only way between Terminals is the AirTrain. Is your first flight international or domestic?

  • Arriving Terminal 7 then leaving from Terminal 4

I am arriving in terminal 7 at 8.55 from Buenos Aires (Aerolineas Argentinas). Then I leave from terminal 4 to Boston at 11.10 (Delta Airlines). I have 2.15 hours to do it. They are two different tickets. It's my first time in U.S.A. Can I do it? Thank you in advance.

This will be very, very difficult if you have checked baggage. The difficulty is getting to Terminal 4 with your baggage before the bag check cutoff.

Ok, I see. I don't have checked baggage, only cabin baggage. Maybe does this help?

Yes, without checked baggage I think it is possible if the first flight is on-time. Check in for your Delta flight online before you leave Argentina.

  • FCO to SDQ Connection

Hello, my Flight is DL245 from Rome FCO and I've to get the DL497 to SDQ , connection time about 2 hrs, is it possible to do ? Which are the Terminals? Thanks !

You will arrive in Terminal 4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security. Your departure gate will also be in Terminal 4. You should have enough time if your flight from Rome is on-time.

  • Airtran from T5

Hi, I will be travelling to JFK for the first time. I land in T5 and take a connection from T4. How to reach the Airtran station from the T5 gates? I understand the Airtran is outside security and it directly goes through the building of T4 unlike T5. How long is the distance from the T5 gates (for example from gate 5) to reach the Airtran? Is the Airtan located outside the T5 building? Thanks,

There are lots of signs to the Airtrain, it should take less than 10 minutes to get there.

In looking at the map of terminal locations and the air tran available to get to another terminal - can anyone tell me if this air tran goes in only one direction? If for example I am at Terminal 7 and need to get to 8 - do I have to make the entire circle to get there or does it go in both directions?

It goes both directions. The one that goes in "reverse order" is called "All Terminals" on the signs.

  • Is 2 hrs enough time between flights/terminals

Will be flying into JFK at 7p on Alitalia at Terminal 1 then have 2 hours before flying out of Terminal 4 on Delta to Pittsburgh. These flights are on one ticket as I booked them together. Will I have to worry about claiming my luggage and going through customs in NY or will I not have to claim my luggage or go through customs until I reach my final destination in Pittsburgh?

In JFK T1 you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the airtrain to T4 and go through security. You should have enough time if your Alitalia flight is on-time.

  • Finnair to AA connection

I arrive on a Finnair flight at 3:50pm, then depart on AA at 5:25pm. I believe both airlines are in terminal 8 but is this enough time to cross customs and immigration? I will have only carry-on, and both flights are on the same reservation, however I am not a U.S. citizen and and no global entry.

Yes, that should be enough time. Having no checked baggage will make it a lot easier.

  • Connection for JetBlue flight

Hi there, We're landing at 14h15 at Terminal 4 and the next flight is an internal JetBlue flight at 15.45. Specifies Terminal 5 at the moment but not sure if this will change? Will there be enough time to get to the connecting flight?

All JetBlue flights depart from Terminal 5. Where are you flying from? What airline are you on? Are all your tickets on the same reservation? Will you have checked baggage? I can't answer your question without this information.

We are flying from South Africa via Dubai on an Emirates flight. Due to land at JFK at 14h15 on 17th May 2016 at Terminal 4. Our next flight is to JAX on JetBlue at 15h45 from Terminal 5. We will be swapping over as the JetBlue tickets are not on the same reservation. We will have baggage which we will need to collect and transfer to the JetBlue flight.

  • Need advice getting between terminals

I am arriving at Delta terminal, but need to get to JetBlue arrival terminal to meet a party. What is the best way to do that and how long should it take?

You will arrive in terminal 2 or 4 and need to go to 5. The airtrain connects all terminals outside security.

  • Delta connection T4-T2

Hello, I have one ticket from BCN to Las Vegas with connection at JFK. Arriving at T4 and departing from T2. Both flights with Delta and in one reservation. I only have 2 hours (i'm not from the Usa nor Canada)... What I have to do once I arrive to JFK until I can board to the second flight? Do you think I have enough time? Thank you very much!

You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then check your departure gate, it could be in T4 or T2, if it's in T4, then go through security and to your departure gate. If it's in T2 take the airtrain to T2, go through security and to your departure gate. You should have just enough time.

Is there any tip or trick to do everything faster? (Fast connection tag...?) Thanks for your fast reply!

    No, there is not.

  • Delta 1.5 hour connection
    Jan 14, 2016

Hi, I have one ticket on Delta from Montreal (Canada) to Los Angeles with stopover and changing flights in JFK. Both flights are from T4. Will 1.5 hours be enough? I'm neither US nor Canadian citizen.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

    Many thanks for your reply.

Hi. I will travel form San Juan to London. I have only 2 hours to transfer from terminal 8 to terminal 7. Do you thinjk its enough time for me to make it? If I drop my luggage in San Juan doues it go straight to London or do I have to pick up my baggs and to the chek in in terminal 7? Thanks for help

I would like to add that the first flight is operated by American Ailines and the second one by British Airways

Your luggage will go straight to London. All you have to do is take the AirTrain from T8 to T7 and go through security. You should have plenty of time.

  • JetBlue-Air France

My flight from Saint Lucia to JFK with JetBlue has been delayed for 30 minutes. I will not arrive at JFK until 7pm as a result. My next flight is from T5 with AirFrance operated by Delta at 9.30pm. I will have to collect my baggage, drop baggage with Delta, go through customs and get to the new terminal etc. Is it even possible that I could manage to do this in the time? Thank you.

Your Delta flight will operate from T4, not T5. The process is actually you will arrive in T5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, take the AirTrain to T4, re-check your bags with Delta, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should still have enough time to do this as long as your JetBlue flight actually arrives at 7.

I have 1 hour minutes, 15 minutes to connect jet blue to aer lingus on departure 1 hour, 30 minutes connection on the return. Just want to confirm I will have enough time on return to collect bags and recheck. Thank you!

If both tickets are on the same reservation you don't have to collect bags and re-check, just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in T5. On the return you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Ireland.
