I have an 8 hour connection in JFK between my flights from Bogota and Seoul. They will both be arriving and departing within Terminal 4 as I booked through Asiana and Avianca. Considering this is a long connection, will it be possible to go out and see the city for a couple of hours? How many hours before my next flight should I be back? Will I be even allowed to exit JFK?

I really don't think that's enough time. You'll be down to 6 hours by the time you clear US Customs, and you have to be back at JFK 2 hours before your flight to Seoul, and it takes an hour to get anywhere and another hour back, so that leaves you with like an hour to see anything.
Arriving into JFK 07:10 hr from Chile with LATAM and flying out 09:25 to Toronto with AA. It seems that both airlines are in terminal 8. Is this enough time between Arriving and Departing JFK and is it possible to book luggage from Chile to Canada with no luggage collection in JFK?
You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Our flight from Abu Dhabi will land at JFK Terminal 4. We need to catch a connecting flight from JFK to Washington DC on AA at JFK Terminal 8. How much time should we budget for to enable us to catch my connecting flight? We are not American citizens.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi. All you have to do in JFK is claim your bags (if they aren't tagged through to Washington), take the AirTrain to T8, re-check your bags, and go through security. I would want 2.5 hours.
Thanks very much, ZAP. We appreciate your quick response.
flying us airline from Manchester uk to orlando with a 1 hour stop at jfk will I make my flight arrive on a Tuesday at 13:55 and depart at 15:00
That is absolutely not enough time. You need to contact whoever you booked that ticket through and get more time.
I'm arriving at Terminal 4 on a Delta flight at 14.30 and then I need to get a separate JetBlue flight from Terminal 5 at 16.30. I'm an EU citizen, with 1 checked bag. Would it be possible?
If the Delta flight is international, I certainly wouldn't try it.
So how much time would be reasonable?
I'd want 3 hours.
We're flying Delta 206 from SNN to JFK on 9/27 and then DL43 to ATL. DL2016 arrives around 1:55 AND DL43leaves at 3:20. Both at T4. Is that enough time to clear ustoms and recheck bags?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Shannon. All you have to do in JFK is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
Hi! On the 4th of november I will arrive with two friends at 20:05 at JFK Airport in Terminal 5. We will be flying with Aer Lingus. After that we want to catch a plane from Bluejet which flies to Tampa and leaves JFK airport at 21:55, also from Terminal 5. We all need to get our baggage from the first plane and the tickets are not on one reservation. Do you think there's enough time for us to make it?
We are not U.S. citizens by the way, and we will travel from Amsterdam to JFK Airport. So we first take an international flight
It's named JetBlue. I think that's just about enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin.
I have 1h 4m between my flight from RDU toad flight to Helsinki.Do I have enough time for transfer from terminal 2 to terminal 8?
On two separate reservations? No I don't think that's enough time. What airline are you flying to JFK?
How much time does it take to go through immigration if coming from overseas flight on Saturday afternoon? And how much time should we allow for to transfer and take the next flight? Is 2.5 hours enough time? Or should we allow more time?
If you're purchasing two separate reservations I'd want at least 3 hours between flights.
I'm not from the US. I arrive to Terminal 4 at 12:22 from Madrid flying by KLM. I fly out of terminal 1 to Mexico DF at 14:55. Will I need to go to the security and pick up my baggage again? The flights are from the same reservation.
The company for the second flight is Aeromexico
The first flight is operated by Delta
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re check desk, take the AirTrain to Terminal 1 and go through security. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
