We are arriving at Terminal 5 from Rochester NY and leaving from Terminal 4 for Frankfurt Germany. Will we have to pass through security again and how do we get Terminal 4? The airlines are JetBlue and Singapore.
Yes, you will have to go through security again in Terminal 4.
I'm flying through JFK from Charlotte to and from Dublin with a 1.5 hour layover each way in JFK. Is that enough time to make the connection?
What airlines are you flying? Is everything on the same reservation or separate reservations?
Operated by Endeavor Air DBA Delta Connection.
Then if your flight to Dublin is also on Delta, all you have to do both ways in JFK is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which will both be in Terminal 4. You have enough time.
Just realized the return flight from Dublin to Charlotte only has a 1 hour 4 minute connection through JFK. Flying Delta and Delta Endeavor. Is THAT enough time???
Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. All you have to do in JFK both ways is just walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 4.
I am arriving JFK via etihad airways at 9.25am and departing for washington DC via delta at noon on 2 separate tickets with only carry on bags but non US citizen. It seems like both will be on T4. Is this enough time? Do I have to go through immigration and security check at JFk if i have check-in online for delta and only have carry-on bags? Or can i just transfer to delta and only go through immigration upon reaching DC?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi. If you check in online for your Delta flight, since you don't have checked bags, all you have to do at JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
Thanks for the prompt response. I am only transiting in Abu Dhabi to JFK. My originating flight is Singapore. Will I still pre-clear US immigration and customs upon reaching Abu Dhabi?
Ok so I have a flight booked this week and I'm starting to panic at the thought of only having 45 minutes for transfer time between T2 and T4.

I'm flying in from Charleston (CHS) to JFK - then onto London (LHR)

Is 45 minutes long enough to transfer between these terminals? Are there any security checks I need to account for also? I'm really quite worried about limited time :-S
Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security between the two terminals. If your flight from Charleston is on-time you can make this connection.
Thank you for your response - from past experience that flight from CHS has always been behind schedule 5 - 10mins everytime so I'm thinking even if I don't make it to T4 in time they'll have to put me on the next flight right?
I have a flight from Montreal to Paris via JFK airport terminal 8 (American Airlines), with 2h10 between both flights. Is it enough ? Do i have to pass immigration control ? And do i have to get my baggages ?
Thanks for the answer
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
I am traveling from ATH to MIA via LHR and JFK. I have 2h and 3min time left in JFK. do I have to go through luggage, customs, and immigration at the JFK too? Or only in MIA ? If time is not enough and I miss the flight due to custom and immigration regulations and procedures, what happens next ?
This is one ticket flight and operated by BA and AA. Correcting the time left in JFK, 2h and 30 min
Yes, in JFK you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the AirTrain to Terminal 8 if your flight to JFK was on BA, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time. If you miss your connection you will be booked on the next available AA flight to Miami.
Thank you very much.
I'm traveling from CLT to LHR via JFK on AA. Both flights are on the same ticket. Is 41 minutes enough time to make the connection assuming of course that the original flight from Charlotte is on time?
Yes, if both flights are operated by AA then all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 8. It obviously leaves very little time to spare.
Yeah, they changed the original flight and made the connection time shorter, or I would have avoided this situation. Just glad I picked seats in row 6 on the first flight.

Thanks for the info.
Im landing at JFK with 2 infants from toronto (terminal 8 ) at the same time as my husband from london (terminal 1) . How can he hurry up and come get me? walk or airtrain? we will have to go thru security and get our bags etc right? is there a post security restaurant i can wait for him in? dont want to go wait outside with 2 babies and luggage...how do i access Wifi??
You can't walk from T1 to T8, he has to take the AirTrain. Where are you flying to or are you just ending your trip in New York. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto.
Hi we are both getting out at NY...the JFK website says you can walk btw the terminals and itll only take 8 mins...but u say he shud just take the airtrain? Thanks
Yes, I think he should take the AirTrain.
I am traveling from Msp to jfk on sun country flight 247 arriving at tarmanal 4 and departing from flight Emirates 202 at tarmanal 4 . Do I have to go security and have to pick my bages I have 3 hours enough
And how to go from termanal 4 arriving to termanal 4 departure
Yes, Sun Country doesn't interline bags with other airlines, you will have to exit security, claim your bags and re-check them with Emirates on the departure level. You have enough time if your Sun Country flight is on-time.
Will there be any lines for Parents with Infant for immigration? I need to collect luggage from Qatar, clear customs and check in to AA. Will there a counter to drop off luggage after customers or we need to carry it between the gates/terminal. Any helpful infomration would be greatly appreciated
There is no such lines. Yes, if your bags are tagged through to your final destination you can re-check them right after you clear customs.
Thanks for the info
