Hi,
My Parents are travelling from India to Chicago via JFK on Emirates.
My Questions are as follows.
1) Does 3 hours 20 minutes would be enough for them to catch the domestic connection?
2) Once they reach JFK, Do they need to carry the check-in bags along with them till terminal 5 where they need to catch their domestic connection ?
OR
Is there will be domestic airline counter/ representatives at terminal 4, where they can drop off the luggage and go to terminal 5 with hassle free of check-in bags?
Will it be one reservation or two separate reservations? That should be enough connection time.
It is one reservation
They will arrive in T4, go through US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk right after customs, then take the AirTrain to Terminal 5, go through security and to their departure gate.
We are an elderly couple due to take Air France 2287 (Delta operated) flight from SFO to JFK with ETA of 17.10 and connecting to AF 7 to CDG with ETD of 18.40. Is the 90 minute time enough for effective transfer? What happens if the connecting flight is missed due to flight delay or in-adequate time?
Yes, that should be enough time. If you miss your connection then you will be rebooked on a later Delta or Air France flight to Paris, assuming there are seats available.
We will be coming back from a trip to Ireland on Saturday Sept 16. We fly out of Shannon and arrive in JFK at 1:57pm. Our connecting flight to SLC leaves at 4:00 pm. Both flights are with Delta and were purchased as one trip with our final destination in Tucson, AZ. Is two hours enough time? Will we have to get our luggage and clear it through customs? We are all US citizens.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Shannon. All you have to do at JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time. If your flight to SLC departs from Terminal 2, Delta runs a shuttle there inside security.
Landing in NY 12.55 Departing 14.55. I'm a brit going through immigration, baggage, security etc. Does 2 hours give me enough time?
2 hours is just enough time if everything is on the same reservation.
Coming in to terminal 4 on Delta International , Transferring to Jet Blue in Terminal 5 and will have to recheck bags. How much time is required?
3+ hours is realistically required.
I am flying from Athens to Washington DC, with a 3hr layover in JFK. I'm not checking bags but I want to buy duty free bottles of local liqeuers in Athens Airport. After going throught customs in JFK, will I have to go through security again before reboardIng to Washington? I don't want my liqueurs taken away because of their size. Is it possible to then check a small backpack with the bottles in JFK going to Washington?
Yes, you will have to go through security after clearing customs in New York. You may be able to check a bag at that time but you'll need to be aware that you need time to do so.
Hi, I am arriving at JFK terminal 8 at 12pm and since it is an international flight I will have to go through immigration. My next flight to Chicago is in 5 hours, also from terminal 8. How to get from the "Baggage Claim" area to the check in area for departures?
You take an escalator up to the departure level after you clear customs and re-check your bags, then go through security.
Hi. I'm flying from Boston to JFK with Delta arriving in Terminal 4 at 14:26, tomorrow 15 July. My outgoing international flight is at 18:30 from terminal 7 with Qantas. I need to get stored bags from terminal 8 before departure. What is the quickest way between terminals to make sure I make the international flight.

Thank you
The only way between terminals is the AirTrain. You should have enough time.
I am flying from MBJ to BWI in Baltimore connecting in JFK where is my connecting terminal?
What airlines are you flying?
Virgin/Delta London-JFK-Washington flight in August. Both flights on same ticket. Only 1h 25m between flights. Is this sufficient time to get through customs, immigration - I understand that the first port of entry is where you must now clear immigration - and check in bag to Washington.
I am guessing it is enough time, as surely the airline wouldn't sell the ticket if not. Sounds very tight though. Thank you.
No, that is not enough time. Minimum is 90 minutes with 2 hours recommended.
