  • Time for connection?

I am flying from ORD to JFK on 9/19/14 into Terminal 2 and leaving from Terminal 4 to head to Barcelona. I have 1.5 hrs. between flights. Is this enough time? Is there a way to avoid going back through security?

Yes, that should be enough time. Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security between their gates in T2 and T4.

We are flying KLM not Delta. Do only ticketed Delta passengers get to ride the shuttle?

KLM does not fly between ORD and JFK or JFK and Barcelona. Your flights are on Delta.

  • Transfer from Terminal 5 to Terminal 4

I am arriving from Buffalo by Jet Blue at terminal 5 and have connection on Emirates flight from terminal 4, how do i go from terminal 5 to terminal 4 with my luggage? How much time is required for the transfer?

The AirTrain connects the terminals. However, be aware that JetBlue and Emirates have an interline baggage agreement and JetBlue may check your bags through to Emirates in Buffalo, meaning then you would not nave to take your bags with you on the AirTrain. I would allow a minimum of 2 hours for your transfer.

  • Clearing customs

I am a US citizen returning on a South African Airways flight from JHN to JFK on Jan 4, 2015. How much time do I need to clear customs, get my luggage and make a Jet Blue flight to my home in Florida. I have a GLobal Traveler ID as well.

With Global Entry you can probably do it in an hour, but I'd still leave at least 90 minutes, especially with the change of terminal involved. Also make sure you're checked in for your JetBlue flight before you leave South Africa.

I´m arriving to JFK at 06:10 am (T4). I must claim my luggage and take it to a new check in to Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific (T7) at 10:00 am. Any similar experience? do you think I can make it? thanks

Yes, that should be plenty of time. Just take your baggage with you on the AirTrain.

  • USAIRWAYS CONNECT TO ICELANDAIR

I am flying from CLT to JFK and then taking Icelandair to KEF. I have to pick up my baggage from USair before checking in with Icelandair. I'm not sure which terminal USair uses now that they've merged with AA, and I don't know twhich terminal Icelandair uses. I would like to know exactly how to get from the USair baggage claim area to the Icelandair check-in. Thank you.

US Airways has moved to Terminal 8. Icelandair uses Terminal 7. You get between them using the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train.

  • How much time will it take to connect from T2 to T1

I have 2 hours for connection. But I travelled with different airlines. I have to get my checked luggage from T2 and get it checked again in T1. That also means I have to get through security again. Is 2 hours enough?

It will be very hard for you to make your connection considering that you will have to claim your bags at T2, take the AirTrain, then check in T1.

Arriving JFK at 6 AM on January 9, with a connecting flight to DCA at 8:55 AM. Will be checking baggage. Will I have enough time to clear customs and make my flight to DC?

That should be enough time. What airline is your flight to DCA on?

    Delta

Yes, that should be enough time.

Thank you - really appreciate your help.

me and my wife will arrive to JFK with al etehad from aboozadbi and have connection with american air line from terminal 8 and have 3 hour between them is it enough ? and what should we do with our bags carry with ourselves to ait train or no ?

Yes, that should be enough time. If you purchased your tickets together and your bags are tagged through to AA then you can re-check them after customs in T4. Otherwise you will have to take them with you on the AirTrain to T8 to check them with AA.

I am traveling with my parents at the same day but in a different air companies. They are gonna arraived to NY before me and they will be there around 2pm in terminal 4. I told them to wait for me after they take them bagged. How can I get from terminal 8 that is the one where my fly landed to terminal 4? it is possible??. Also is possible for them to wait for me after they get them bagged???Thanks!!!

The Airtrain connects all Terminals at JFK outside security. Yes, they can wait for you at the exit of customs in Terminal 4 or in the Domestic baggage claim of Terminal 4.

  • 90 minute connection from Terminal 2 to terminal 1

Hi. Delta changed our flight time so we arrive into T2 around 8:30pm and leave in T1 at 10:05pm. Do you think we'll have enough time for this connection? Thanks!

Assuming your tickets were purchased together and you don't have to transfer bags yourself, yes, that should be enough time.

Arriving delta JFK from fll then connecting to delta to Athens. One hour between fights. Will need wheelchair to transfer to next gate. Will I have enough time? Vd288f

1 hour should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. The wheelchair assistance staff will help you get from T2 to T4.

Thank you so much. Hopefully Delta will leave Fll on time.

I am arriving at JFK T8 from LHR at 1.10pm and departing from T8 to Orlando at 2.35pm. Has anyone got any experience of doing this connection with the short layover and did you have to rush to get through immigration and customs etc to make the second flight? I'm just a bit worried about the connection time being too short.

While your transfer time is extremely short, you arrive/depart at non-rush hours and in the same terminal. Note that T8 has Concourse B with gate 1-16, while near its gate 14 is access to Concourse C with gates 31-47.

  • Connecting from France T4 to Miami T8
    Jul 22, 2014

We arrive with XL Airways from France (T4), and have an American Airlines to Miami (T8). Is the Airtrain the quickest way ? Do we have to claim our bags and recheck them in T8 ? Where exactly ? How long will it take to do the whole connection ? THANKS

The Airtrain is the only way between terminals. Yes, XL Airways France does not interline baggage with other airlines so you will have to bring it with you and pay a checked bag fee with AA in T8. I would leave at 3 hours for your connection.

  • connection flight

i am leaving from chicago from terminal 2 by delta airlines at 3 P.M and arriving at JFK at 6:30 P.M..and i have a connecting flight from JFK at 7:30 to Madrid..my question is i just have 1 hour connection flight..will 1 hour be enough??

A continuoulsly running shuttle bus runs between gate C60 at T2 & gate B23 at T4, eliminating the need for security check - add about 12 minutes of transfer time.

Do you mean that i can get the flight??

Yes, if your first flight is on-time that should be enough time to make your connection. However, note that delays at JFK are common.

Im thinking of buying a ticket for a Virgin America filght on Sept 21 from San Francisco to NY JFK, plane departs at 7am, lands at 3.40pm. My flight for London heathrow leaves at 6.15 pm British Airways from Terminal 8, JFK. Would I make it in in 2,5 hrs?

Yes, 2.5 hours should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. However, note that flights operated by British Airways use Terminal 7 at JFK, not terminal 8.
