Hi everyone! On August 10th I am flying to JFK terminal 4. I the have a connecting flight on Terminal 2 in 2h 40mins.Does anyone know how I can get from JFK Terminal 4 to Terminal 2 and how long does it take?

Is your arriving flight domestic or International? To literally get between the terminals only takes 5-10 minutes on the Delta shuttle bus or AirTrain.

it's international. I'm flying from london to JFK terminal 4, then JFK to orlando terminal 2. Great, that sounds good. Thanks!

  • When arrive at airport to pick up international traveler (12:55pm)
    Jul 31, 2015
I am picking up someone who is arriving on AirFrance at 12:55 tomorrow. What time should I arrive at JFK? I don't want to waste hours at airport, but don't want person to wait either. Thanks!! Also, is there easy parking for pickup at Terminal 1?

I would plan on arriving around 2. They might have to wait for you for a bit but not too long.

Hi! I'm arriving at Jfk's T1 with an international flight, then I've a connecting flight 2 hours and 50 minutes later at T2. Is that enough time? Is there a faster way to recheck our bags to

If both tickets were purchased on the same reservation you can re-check them at the re-check desk right after clearing US customs. Otherwise you will have to take them to Terminal 2 to re-check.

Yes, we purchased them together. So we just have to take them there and then go to the security control at T2? Thanks for your answer:)

Yes, but also double check the terminals because some Delta domestic flights use Terminal 2 and some use Terminal 4.

  • Do I have enough time to connect

We are considering a flight from Orlando to Singapore, with a first connection at JFK airport in NY. The first flight is a Singapore Airlines one operated by Jet Blue, arriving in Terminal 5, connecting to Singapore Airlines plane in Terminal 4. The layover is 2 hours. Is this enough time to make flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. You just have to take the AirTrain from T5 to T4 and go through security.

Hi, I'm flying out from RDU to JFK, and then from JFK to Singapore. I bought both tickets separately, and have one checked bag. My transit time is about 2 and a half hours, and both flights are in the same terminal. Is there enough time, and will I have to go to baggage claim in JFK and go through security again? Thanks.

Yes, you will have to go to the baggage claim, claim your bags, then take them to the second airline's ticket counter and re-check your bags, then go through security. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Hi. I have a flight from LA to NY to Europe, got my tickets on one reservation(United, Lufthansa). Have a 1 hour and 25 minutes connection time in JFK. Arrive at T7 and depart from T1. Have one bag. Is this enough time? and should I pick up my bags? Thanks.

You will not have to pick up your bags, you just have to take the AirTrain from T7 to T1 and go through security.

Thank you ZAP. What do you this about time?

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time or close to it.

  • 1:40 min is enough time? CTG-JFK on JetBlue T5 & JFK-LAX T5 JetBl
    Jul 28, 2015
I & my almost 2 years old daughter will arrive to JFK at 7:42PM on 8/19 (Wednesday). JFK will be our point of entry to the US. We arrive in Terminal 5 on JetBlue and then we have hour connection flight departing at 9:30. Is this hour and 40 minutes enough time to go trough immigrations, claim bags, customs ,re-check bags and then go through TSA security and departure gate also in terminal 5. How long does it usually take to do this process (average min or max)? Please help, if it is not enough time I would like to cancel my purchase during the first 24 hours. Thanks

That should be barely enough time. The Immigration facilities in Terminal 5 are rarely too crowded because Jetblue does not fly big planes and they are currently the only ones using that facility.

Thank you Zap, I think I am not going to check in a bag on the way back to make sure I have enough time. I cannot miss the plain because my daughter will turn 2 the next day and can't afford an extra ticket. Do you think that is going to make a difference?

Is 55 minutes enough time to get from jet blue to air linges. do you have to go thru security . I land in terminal 5 and go out terminal 5

No, you will not have to go through security - you just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate both in Terminal 5. It's enough time if your first flight is on-time.

    thank you

  • Transit time from Terminal 8 to 7 travelling to Japan is 1 hr. enough?
    Jul 28, 2015
I am traveling from Bermuda to Bangkok via Toyko on aug. 12. I arrive at terminal 8 (customs is already cleared) and have a Nippon flight at 12:30 leaving from Terminal 7. Is it likely that I can make that connect traveling by taxi between the two? Any inifomration would be helpful.

you cannot take a taxi between Terminals. You have to take the AirTrain. It's barely possible if you have no checked luggage (or your baggage is already checked through to Bangkok), you are already checked in for your flight to Tokyo, and your flight from Bermuda arrives on-time.

ZAP, thanks for your information on transferring from terminal 7 to 8. I have walked it once but had lots of time. I will play it safe and fly up the day before.

I am traveling from SFO to HYD India through Ethihad airways. My flight lands in NY AT 20.08 IN TERMINAL 5. I have a connecting flight in NY AT 22.40 TO AUH IN TERMINAL 4. My baggage is all checked in at SFO. Will I have to collect my baggage in-between the flights and check it in again? If so Do i have enough time to reach the Terminal 4 with security check? Am i going to miss my flight? I need help.

If both tickets were purchased together you will not have to claim your bags in JFK. All you have to do is take the AirTrain from T5 to T4 and go through security. You should have plenty of time.

  • Time between flights
    Jul 25, 2015
Hi, our Air France flight will arrive at Terminal T1 at 16:15. Then we'll take a domestic flight from Terminal T2 at 19:40. The question is: is there enough time to accomplish all the necessary operations (immigration, baggage claim, terminal transfer, check in, etc)? Thank you

That should be enough time. If both tickets were bought on the same reservation you can re-check your bags at the re-check desk after clearing customs in T1. If you purchased two separate tickets, you can show your Delta confirmation to the Air France agent upon check-in and they should check your bag through to your final destination. You will still have to claim it to go through US Customs in JFK but you can use the re-check desk in T1 and avoid having to take it to T2 and paying a checked bag fee for the domestic flight. Also please note that Delta operates domestic flights from both T2 and T4. If your flight number begins with a 4 it will probably leave from T4.

  • T5 to T8
    Jul 24, 2015
Hi, I have a Jetblue (T5) connection with TAM (T8) to Brazil on a Thursday. Jetblue and TAM are partners, and I bought my tickets at TAM website. How do I get from T5 to T8? How long it takes? Do I need to pick up my checked bags or I just see them in Brazil? Thanks iin advance.

You will take the AirTrain from T5 to T8. Since you purchased your tickets your bags should be checked through to Brazil by JetBlue and you shouldn't have to do anything with them at JFK. You will have to go through security in T8.

  • Connection from same terminal
    Jul 23, 2015
Hi, Our Air France flight arrives into T4 and 90mins later our Delta flight departs from the same terminal. Will I have to collect my baggage in-between the flights and check it in again, and if so, does 90 minutes give us a enough time?

Air France flights do not arrive in Terminal 4. They arrive in Terminal 1. However, if your flight is a codeshare operated by Delta it will arrive in Terminal 4. Yes, if you do arrive in T4 and your first flight is International you will go though US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.
