Flying Delta from O'Hare to JFK, then to Iceland. Have 90 minute layover. Leave in a few days and currently freaking out about missing my flight. This should be enough time, right?

Yes, if both flights are on Delta then all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 4.

    thank you for your help!

Because of the french strike, I've just been put on an international Delta flight DL42 then DL 412, with a 1:35 layover in JFK. Will I have to get my luggage? Is it manageable? Will it be in Terminal 4? Thanks for your answer.

No, you do not have to claim your bags, both flights should be in Terminal 4. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

I will be flying Boston to JFK, then onto France with one hour to connect. Both flights on Delta. Do I need to go through security again? Will I make it? I'm not familiar with this airport

No, you do not have to go through security again. You will arrive in Terminal 2 or 4 and depart from Terminal 4. If you arrive in Terminal 2, Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security to Terminal 4. You should have enough time.

Have a flight from Minneapolis to Manchester through JFK. Land at 21.30 from MSN with my flight to Manchester leaving at 22.45. I will check my luggage through but I'm worried about connection time and security and immigration. I'm not a US citizen. Can you help please

I am flying to JFK from RDU on Delta flight 4066 and have to change to Air Berlin flight 7249. I have a 4 hour 40 minute layover. How would I go about getting to terminal 8?

You take the AirTrain. You have enough time.

I'm just confused as to where the AirTrain stop is, is there one outside of the baggage claim? I've never been to JFK.

Yes, it is outside security, the way to it is very well marked.

My son will be flying on JetBlue from Boston, then on to Milan on Emirates Airline (both legs of the trip booked together via Emirates). His layover at JFK is 3 hours and 40 minutes. Will he have to go through security at JFK? Is this enough time?

Yes, he will have to go through security again in Terminal 4. He has enough time.

  • Connection from LHR - JFK - MCO

I am traveling with Virgin Atlantic on 25/07/16 on flight VS003 landing at 1150 and have a connecting flight to MCO VS4833 that departs at 1348. This was all booked with Virgin as one journey, will there be time for the connection and will I have to collect and recheck my hold luggage again at JFK before departing for MCO? Any help greatly appreciated.

Yes, you will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk then go through security and to your departure gate which may be in the same terminal (Terminal 4) or in Terminal 2 (which is connected to Terminal 4 by a shuttle bus). Also, your flight to Orlando will be operated by Delta and I am not seeing a 1348 flight on that day, so you may want to re-check your reservation and see if any of your flights have changed.

I think it may have changed to 1333, will that be enough time to get through all of that security and checks to make the connection?

It should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Hi, First time traveling to JFK airport. Any info is appreciated. Flying in from LAX to JFK with a 42min layover for a connecting flight to Dublin. I will also have my 4yr old in tow. Will I have to recheck bags and what terminals do I need to go too? Thank you!

I can't answer your question unless you post what airlines you are flying.

LAX to JFK on Jet Blue JFK to Dublin on Aer Lingus

If both tickets are on the same reservation then all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 5.

Im flying w/ Delta tonight from Chicago to Tel-Aviv via JFK. I do not have any checked baggage, only my carry-on. I land in JFK at 10:30p and take off at 11:55p. Do I need to go through security again? Do I have enough time? If I do need security - are there speccial lines for connecting passangers? Is there passport control for leaving the US? Any tips on what would help things go faster? Thanks, Roy

You do not have to go through security and there is no passport control when leaving the US. You just show your passport to the gate agent when boarding your flight to Tel Aviv. All you have to do in JFK is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 4. You have enough time.

Both my daughter and I are flying into JFK, although she lands in T8 and I land in T4, whats the best way to meet up with each other to travel to our hotel?

You can meet in the baggage claim level of whoever is arriving later or if you're taking the airtrain, you could meet at the airtrain transfer station with the LIRR or Subway.

I have a 10:30 PM flight out of JFK on Norwegian. From Terminal 1. I am going to purchase a flight from Rochester NY to JFK (probably Jet Blue) which comes in on a different terminal. No checked luggage. I will go through TSA in Rochester. Will I need to go through again JFK? If so, when should I try to arrive at JFK (Norwegian says they close the boarding 1 hour before flight time) A JetBlue is "scheduled" to arrive at 835. Cutting it too close?

Yes, you will have to go through security again in JFK. Norwegian doesn't close boarding an hour before the flight. 8:35 is possible but doesn't leave a lot of room to spare. JetBlue arrives in Terminal 5 and Norwegian departs from Terminal 1.

    Thanks for the help.

Arriving via Caribbean airlines @Terminal 4 at 5.35am with 1 checked bag. Departing at Terminal 8 at 8.16am. Do I have time to collect bag and recheck? OR should I just nix the bag and walk with hand luggage only - if timing doesn't allow the baggage claim process

I think you'd have enough time to deal with a checked bag. Of course not having a checked bag makes it easier.

thanks much. hopefully it wont be risk if I check a bag as it's so early in the am.

Hi, we are travelling business class on Australian passports from Quebec City to JFK on Delta, with a 2 hour layover in JFK connecting to a flight to LA and onto to Brisbane. Can we do pre clearance in Quebec City or do we have to do in JFK?

Quebec City does not have preclarance. You will have to go through US Immigration and customs in JFK.

I will arrive in NY Jet Blue June 14 from Charlestn at 12:41. I have a connecting flight Meridiana at 3:00 p.m. I will check my luggage. Is there enough time between flights? Where are the respective terminals? Thanks GDL

You will arrive in Terminal 5 and depart from Terminal 1. Assuming you purchased two separate reservations, you will have to claim your bags from Terminal 5, take them on the AirTrain to Terminal 1, and re-check them with Meridiana and go through security. You have just enough time.
