Hi, I have a 17hr layover transit when I land at JFK at 2215 (Aug6) and my LAS flight is the following day at 1550 (Aug7). If I want to leave the airport, stay somewhere and explore the city, do I need to get my checked luggage when I arrive in NYC and re-check in again later or will it go directly to my LAS flight? Is there enough time?
Yes, you will have to claim your bags and then re-check them the next day. Yes, that is plenty of time to do whatever you want.
Which LIRR/Airtrain do we take to get to terminal 7 from Penn station? Do we take the Jamaica hub then transfer once inside the airport to another train?
Basically, yes. The MTA has a good guide, the AirTrain you get on at Jamaica Transfer will take you all the way to Terminal 7. http://web.mta.info/mta/airtrain.htm
We're traveling from Venice to Austin through JFK, both US citizens and no checked luggage. We land at 4:50 pm in JFK and our connecting flight to Austin is at 6:25 pm. Is 1hr 35 mins enough time to go through customs and security?
Forgot to mention the airline is Delta and we have to change terminals I believe.
That is not realistically enough time. It's technically a legal connection but it's not realistic. 2 hours is the bare minimum I recommend for International to Domestic through JFK.
I'm travelling from London to jfk via Amsterdam and have been given 1hr5 to transfer, is this enough?
i fly in from SA to JFK and inward to Fort Lauderdale what do I do about my luggage
Im flying into JFK on AA- meant to be arriving at 13.20 Just noticed my connecting flight to CUN leaves at 14,55 (also AA)

What happens if the flight is delayed or i miss the connection due to TSA lines etc
Where are you flying into JFK from? I can't answer your question without knowing that.
Im flying in from Milan MXP
That connection will be very difficult, bordering on impossible. If you miss your connection they will book you on the next available flight to Cancun, possible through Dallas/Ft. Worth.
I fly with KLM 6765 from Ft Lauderdale and arrive at JFK at 8.15h pm. I leave JFK with KL 0644 at 10.40 pm to Amsterdam.
Do I have enough transfer time. Which terminal do I arrive and which terminal do i depart for Amsterdam. Must I pick my Luggage first and recheck it at the checkin desk on which terminal. A lot of guestions, but it makes me nervous, because it is my first time. I am a Dutch citizen. Thank you for your answers ZAP.
I forgot to tell you that my transfertime is 2.25hours. All is booked on one ticket.
You will both arrive and depart from Terminal 2 or 4. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you arrive in Terminal 2, Delta runs a shuttle inside security to Terminal 4. Note that your flight from FLL will be operated by Delta. You don't have to do anything with your bags at JFK. You should have enough time.
Thx for your usefull answer ZAP. Are there information desks between terminal 2 and 4 in case I cannot find the shuttle from terminal 2 to term. 4?
The shuttle is very well marked.
Im flying from BOS to JFK and then to Cambodia. first flight is JETBLUE, second flight is China Southern Airlines, all on same reservation. Can I check my bags all the way through in BOS? Is a 1hour 46 min layover enough time? Do I go through customs in BOS or JFK? Thanks
I answered this the other place you posted your question. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
I'm flying from SYR to JFK on Delta and continue to Seoul on Asiana Airlines. These are separate roundtrip tickets. Will I have to go through security again at JFK?
Yes, you will have to claim your bags from Delta, re-check them with Asiana, and go through security. You need at least 2 hours for your transfer.
I will not be checking any bags. Will I still need to go through security again?
In that case no. Either check in online for your Asiana flight or if you can't, you should be able to get your boarding pass from the Asiana gate.
Does anybody know what's going on in Jfk my husband was supposed to depart at 3:25 still sitting in the airplane . Delta flight 43 no news on when they will take off.
There was a large line of storms that are passing through the New York area this afternoon and evening and the entire airspace is a mess. Every flight to or from New York is delayed. I'm guessing that due to the extended delay, the crew of your husband's original flight timed out and they have to get a reserve crew.
Thank you !! They really didn't give him much details.
My husband and me are arriving to JFK from tlv (Elal)and are checked through to DC(AA).
Besliste that the twin babies we also have alot of Luggage. We are very worried how to get the luggage and the babies from the baggage claim to security - to check in. Are there any services that we could make us of to help? Are there any policies for families with babies?
There are carts you can use. Services are not allowed in the International baggage claim.
Are there special lines for parents with babies?
No, there are not.
I'm flying from EDI and arriving to JFK as my connecting flight at 12:50 pm. I then have a flight from JFK to YYZ at 3:20 pm. Is that enough time for a connection? What's the total process? I fly to JFK on American Airlines and then I fly to YYZ on American Airlines but it's operated by Trans States as American Eagle
You will arrive in Terminal 8, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate, also in Terminal 8. If you are UK Citizens you will have to complete ESTA before your trip. You should have enough time.
