Passenger Terminal layout, Flight Transfer, Vaccination & Immigration Data:
The present passenger terminal at Jorge Chavez International Airport - divided into a Domestic and an International Terminal - completed its second phase of expansion in early 2009. However, a further expansion of the present terminal (as well as construction of a second terminal), had already been approved. The terminal has 28 gates, 19 of which are boarding bridges. A shopping center is in the Grand Concourse, and a food court on the second floor. The VIP Club (511 517 2430) is a lounge and business center in the International Terminal.
Other amenities & services inside the terminal complex include an Interbank branch; Currency Exchange (at international arrivals and on level 2 adjacent to the bank), & ATM machines, tourist information, post office, luggage storage and wrapping, cell phone rentals, Travel agency, and VIP lounges (VIP Peru, VIP Club, and Sumaq VIP, which received the 2010 'Lounge of the Year' award'), as well as the Sanidad Aerea clinic. The 'Peru Plaza' shopping center is near the passenger terminal, in the Grand Concourse and has received recent expansion and offers brand-name merchandise. .
Transferring to another Flight:
So as to not lose in-transit or connecting passenger status, passengers in transit or with connections to other internatonal flights must walk through the hall of International Arrivals, go down to the first level and, without entering the immigration control area, return to the international terminal.
For yellow fever vaccination, first aid or required shots for your pet, visit the Sanidad Aerea clinic in the domestic arrivals area.
Immigration procedure:
Passengers whose final destination is Peru must go to 'Immigration' and present their completed entry form or Andean Immigration Card, as well as passport or other valid document.
After immigration procedure check the overhead monitors for your flight and pick up your gags. Thereafter proceed with your bags to the customs area and present the completed customs form.
