Kerry KIR Airport Overview

Kerry Airport KIR serves Kerry County in southwest Ireland, and is supported by a great transportation network.
The Airport is located between the towns of Killarney & Tralee, or 13 km north of Killarney and the Ring of Kerry, and 15 km southeast of Tralee. National route N3 leads directly to the Airport; a new bypass road gets you to Cork and Limerick in 90 minutes; and a train station is within walking distance of the passenger terminal, while the bus terminal is only steps from it. 

With two runways and an estimated 400,000 passengers a year, the Airport is presently served by Aer Lingus and Ryanair, as well as by Sunway (tel. 01-2886828 or visit sunway.ie) between late June and late August 2013.
 
The passenger terminal at Kerry Airport offers the following amenities: The Customer Service desk is in the main concourse and is responsible for ticket & accommodation reservation, transport help and general tourist information. Currency Exchange is also available at the Customer Service desk and exchange rates are clearly posted - major travelers checks & currencies are accepted.
Check-in desks are located in the main concourse. For food & drink there is a restaurant & bar in the main concourse. A gift shop is in the departure lounge. . Wi-Fi internet access is available – inquire at the customer service center. A baby changing facility is located in the main concourse, next to the restaurant.
 
Parking options at Kerry Airport include two parking lots for short- and long-term parking: 
1. The Short-term Lot is opposite from the passenger terminal and should be used either for picking up / dropping off a passenger, or for short-term or overnight stays. There is no charge for the first 30 mins.Disabled parking spaces are within the short-term carpark
2. The Long-Term Lot is only a two-minute walk from the passenger terminal and is intended for extended stays (long weekends or vacations). There is no charge for the first hour.
Payment can be made at the car park pay stations either in cash (EUR coins & notes), or by major credit cards (Mastercard & Visa only).

To get from Kerry Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a taxi, a bus or a train:
(a) The bus terminal outside the passenger terminal offers direct bus services directly to Tralee, Killarney & Limerick, and from there you can connect to the Eireann bus network throughout Ireland. You can buy your bus ticket on the bus.
(b) The nearest train station is ten minutes from the Airport and offers train service to Tralee & Killarney, with connections throughout Ireland via the Iarnrod Eireann train network.
