Kirkenes Airport Hoybuktmoen KKN serves the Hoybuktmoen area of eastern Finnmark, Norway.
The Airport is located in Hesseng, 16 km from Kirkenes, accessible directly via motorway E6 and E105 connecting to E6 and is situated at the base of a peninsula jutting into Varangerfjord. Opening hours are Mon-Fri 5am-12:30pm; Sat. 6am-5pm; Sun 9am-12:30am.
With a long runway accommodating jet airplanes, and an estimated 280,000 passengers a year, Kirkenes Airport is hub to Wideroe airline and is served by Norwegian Air Shuttle and Scandinavian Airlines offering daily flights to Oslo-Gardermoen airport (with seasonal flights to Munich and Cologne/Bonn, Germany), and by Wideroe airline to smaller airports.
NOTE: 1. It is recommended that you check in for domestic flights at last one hour prior to scheduled departure, for international flights 1.5 hours, and for charter flights two hours.
2. The Airport opens weekdays 5am-12:30am; Saturday 6am-5pm; Sunday 9am-12:30am.
The new passenger terminal at Kirkenes Airport opened in 2006 . It has four check-in desks, four gates, cafeteria, newsstand, gift shop, travel agent, tourist information desk, rental car desks, and baby/parent room.
