Kuusamo Lapland Airport KAO is located 6 km northeast of the town of Kuusamo, Finland, in the Arctic Circle and near the Russian border. The nearest big city is Taivalkosky, 70 km from the Airport. 

With one runway and 86,486 passengers in 2012, Kuusamo Lapland Airport is served by Finnair Airlines offering flights to Helsinki and by AirBaltic with flights to Riga. Seasonal charter flights to popular vacation destinations are also available.
