  • Best way to get between terminals
    Jul 20, 2016
I'm arriving on the 30th at about 1:15 pm on Delta flight, have 1 checked bag. And i have a flight on American Airlines that leaves at 3:30 pm. Do I need to leave security to get to the American terminal?

Since you have a checked bag, you will have to claim your bags from Delta in your arrival terminal (Either C or D) and then take them to your AA departure terminal (either B or C). If you need to change terminals you need to take the Route A or B bus (I guess you can walk along the curb from D to C if necessary). You will then have to re-check your bag at the AA ticket counter and go through security. You barely have enough time if your Delta flight is on-time. If you can do this without a checked bag then you can do this without having to go through security.

when I get to lga what terminal is American Airlines that will take me from Lga to Bangor Maine?

Those flights appear to leave from Terminal C. However, confirm that with AA.com flight status on the day of your flight.

  • Westjest (Terminal D) - AA Connection (1.5 hrs)
    Jul 14, 2016
Hi, I'll be traveling from YYZ (Toronto) to LGU via Westjet & have 1.5 hrs to connect to an AA flight going to RDU (Raleigh). I know that I will arrive in Terminal D but unclear to me whether AA flight to RDU will be in Terminal B or C. I'm assuming that I will need to get my checked luggage, exit security and go through security again since Westjet & AA seem not to have an interline agreement. Is that correct? Also, Is 1.5 hrs enough connecting time? I'm assuming that I'd need to take one of the airport terminal shuttles to whatever terminal my AA flight is departing from. Advice would be appreciated

Yes, you have the procedure correct. You barely have enough time if everything goes perfectly. AA.com will tell you your departure terminal the day of your flight, but I'm fairly sure the RDU flights leave from Terminal B.

Thanks for the confirmation of info.

  • connect delta to american airlines?
    Jul 13, 2016
    1) Grandma arrives on Delta flight and we arrive on American flight. Are all walkways between these terminals internal (don't have to go through security)? I don't which terminal she lands at yet. 2) is there a resource that outlines all connections between terminals? 3) what is a central area to meet at?

If she arrives in Terminal B there is no Walkway, you have to take the Route A or B bus on the lower level there (which is outside security). If she arrives in Terminal C then that is connected inside security to all of Delta's gates in Terminals C and D. There is no "central area" at LaGuardia. Just pick a spot and meet there.

Thanks. Or, as I read through your other answers, if on AMerican and even if not connecting to another AA flight, can we take AA bus between B and C? Will that get us near Delta in B or C?

  • international arrival connecting to a local flight
    Jul 13, 2016
i am arriving into la gruardia at 14.39 from london & my connection by Spirit departs at 16.59 is this enough to clear customs and immigration and catch the spirit flight

There are no flights from London to LaGuardia. Please double check your reservation. If it is to a different New York airport you do not have enough time.

American operates a shuttle bus inside security between their gates in C and gates in B. It is now well marked.

Yes, the take the Route B shuttle which runs on the lower level.

  • Delta connection
    Jun 21, 2016
I'm traveling in a couple of weeks into LGA them on to Montreal. Delta...does Delta use one terminal only? Concerned about connection...only have about 45 minutes.

Delta uses Terminals A, C, and D. A is only used for flights from Chicago-O'Hare and Washington-National. C and D are connected inside security by a walkway. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • LGA to Montreal, with just 51 min layover, American Airlines
    Jun 17, 2016
I am flying into LGA in Terminal C, and leaving from Terminal B on an international flight, from Terminal B. I am flying American Airlines, and the layover I was offered is just 51 mins. If things go well, i this even possible? More importantly, what do i do, if I miss my flight, due to not having a long enough layover/late 1st plane?

If you miss your connection American will book you on their next available flight to Montreal. They also run a shuttle inside security from their gates in C to their gates in B. You can make this if the first flight is on-time.

  • gate c in terminal b??
    Jun 17, 2016
I have a delta flight out of lga that looks like it will be at gate c12. I assumed that was terminal C..but apparently it is terminal b?? Everything I've read says delta doesnt fly out of terminal b. So confused! And if it is actually terminal b..does delta have luggage check in there, or do i have to first go to terminal c and check my luggage?? help!

Delta does not use Terminal B. Where are you flying? Where are you seeing that you're in gate C12?

As I am a super paranoid airport person, I have been watching Deltas morning flights out of lga to grr. Several times in the past few weeks, the monday morning 935 am flight has been in the lower gate c numbers. Yesterday it was gate c12. freak out engaged!:) I am flying out of lga on monday the 20th. http://www.delta.com/flightinfo/viewFlightStatusByLegDeparture.action

link doesnt work..yesterdays flight was flight delta flight 6213. Flight status on delta says it was "terminal c, gate c12" just a smidge confusing!

Yes, that appears to be a new gate Delta has added to Terminal C. It has recently been departing from C20 or C24 most of the time.

  • RIC-LGA-YUL on Delta - connection time?
    Jun 2, 2016
I am flying into LGA from Virginia and then have a 56 min layover before departing LGA to Montreal, both on Delta. Will I need to go through Customs or re-visit security for the international leg of the itinerary, and will about an hour be enough time?

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate at LGA. You will go through Canadian immigration and customs when you get to Montreal.

  • Terminal C to Terminal B within 45 minutes
    May 24, 2016
Can I make it from Terminal C to Terminal B via shuttle within 45 minutes? Do I have to go back through security? I'm flying AA from BOS to LGA then AA from LGA to GSO. Any help is appreciated!

The AA shuttle runs inside security. You can make it if everything goes smoothly.

  • Inside security xfr between terminal C and terminal B
    May 19, 2016
Does anyone know where I could get the shuttle between terminal C and terminal B on American inside security? Thanks!

Ask an AA employee. it's not well marked.

The shuttle is by gate C29. AA employees were very helpful. There are clear signs now.

  • 90 minute layover--AA flights terminal B to tterminal C
    May 10, 2016
I am arriving in Terminal C and need to get to Terminal B with 90 minutes layover--how long will it take and is this enough time? How long is the walk or is there a shuttle?

American does offer a shuttle between their gates in Terminals B and C inside security. Ask an agent for directions to the shuttle. You should have enough time if your inbound flight is on-time.

  • Are the westjet kiosks behind security in terminal D?
    May 6, 2016
I have a shirt overlay and i don't wanna have to go threw security

There's no need to ask the same question twice in one day.

What are you talking about? That man (woman?) had a different name than me. We couldn't be the same person.

OK, then there are no Westjet kiosks inside security. You'll have to go to the gate.

..... So I have to go threw security after all? Sorry if I seem stupid. I've never been on a plane, or to an airport.

OK, So this is my understanding, you are flying Delta into LGA and then Westjet to Toronto. If so, at the airport in your first city, Delta should be able to issue you physical boarding passes for both flights that the counter. Alternatively you can check in online with Delta in which case they may or may not be able to issue your Westjet boarding pass online. If they can't you can get it from the counter at the Westjet gate at Laguardia.
