  • 33 Min layover

Hi, Will I make my Delta connection with a 33 minute layover in LGA?

It's possible, but depends on things going smoothly at LGA, which is rare.

I am planning a trip and the proposed flight gives me 56 minutes for the connection. I am unsure what terminals I will be sent to. I'm flying in from Bangor, Maine, then off to Minneapolis/St. Paul. I'm worried about such a tight connection. Thoughts?

That should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. Flights will be in Terminal C or D, which are connected inside security by a walkway.

I am arriving Terminal C and departing Terminal D both on Delta. With 58 min between flights is it possible to make this? Do I need to grab my checked bags and take them to the other terminal or will delta do it for me?

Yes, it is possible. your bags will be transferred for you. C and D are connected inside security by a walkway.

  • Arriving at 2 different terminals: how to meet up?

What is the best way or place at LGA to meet if one traveler is arriving in Terminal B and the other in Terminal D around the same time, both hoping to go into the city by taxi?

Have the traveler arriving in Terminal D take the Route A or Route B bus to Terminal B and then take a taxi from there.

  • American airlines B-C shuttle frequency

How often does the inside security American Airlines shuttle depart for transportation between terminals B and C?

I believe it operates more or less "as often as needed/it can" - the ramp at LGA is very congested.

  • Walk between terminals

Can I walk from terminal D to terminal B and how long will it take

It's possible to do outdoors on the lower level, but it's not easy. I suggest if you're trying to go as fast as you can that the Route A or Route B bus is probably faster than walking. But if you have plenty of time and want some fresh(?) air then you could do that.

  • Connection between B and C

I fly into B and out of C on American. I have 50 minutes between flights. Do I have enough time and do I have to re-clear through security?

American has a shuttle bus inside security. Even then you have barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

    Thanks

  • Toronto to NYC - short layover to catch flight to Kansas City
    Feb 15, 2016

Hello! I just have a quick question about something that really got me anxious once I realized! I am travelling from Toronto to NYC and getting there at 14:00 and then I have another flight to catch (connecting flight) at 15:00. The first one is on Terminal D the other on terminal B. I will have to pass through security check and wanted to see how feasible it will be to make it on time given that I am an international tourist. Do i need to cancel my flight and get a new one with more layover time? This got me really stressed out!

    What airlines are you flying?

    Westjet

Westjet doesn't fly to Kansas City. What airline are you flying to Kansas City?

Its operated by Westjet but possibly a partner airline: Gojet airlines DBA DELTA

Then you do not have to go to Terminal B. You will arrive in Terminal D and depart from Terminal C or D. C and D are connected inside security by a walkway. You have enough time as long as your Westjet flight is on-time.

  • 45 minute connections Delta

I have reservations on Delta for the end of May. Since the trip was scheduled far in advance, I was not surprised to receive a schedule change. I am flying from GSO to LGA and then onto Boston. The new schedule only has a 45 minute connection. Is this too tight for LGA?

This is possible. All Delta gates at LGA are connected inside security. LGA is delay-prone, however Delta also has hourly flights from LGA to BOS that are rarely full.

Thanks so much for the info.

I am about to make almost the exact same trip. GSO to LGA then connecting to BOS with a 40 minute connection via Delta. So this is possible, no problem? Also, coming back I'm flying AA BOS to LGA then connecting to GSO with a 50 minute connection. Us this also possible? Thanks!

  • Delta Connections from Boston to Norfolk with 35 min connection time
    Feb 2, 2016

Hi, I'm flying down to Norfolk in April and my connection on Delta is through LGA, but I only have 35 mins between flights. Because the first leg is Delta and the second leg is Delta Connections Endeavor Air and I can't figure out of both are same terminal or if one is in C and the other is in D, if I'm going to have enough time. Does any one have any information? My original flight was changed on my by the airline so I can change it once without any fees, should I make the change or safe with this connection? Thanks for your help!

35 minutes is enough time if the first flight is on-time, but it leaves no time to spare if it's delayed (which is common at LGA). I personally would try to change it for a longer connection if your schedule allows). If you do stick with this connection or end up with a different connection over LGA, terminals C and D are connected inside security by a walkway.

  • Terminal B to D

Hi! I'll arrive on terminal B and I've 2 hours for the next flight which is going to be on Terminal D. I've checked bags. Do you think I can make it? I'm open to get a cab between terminals.

You can't take a cab between terminals. You have to take the Route A or Route B bus (Route B is faster as it doesn't go to Terminal A, which is practically on the other side of the airport).

Also, I think you have enough time as long as your first flight is on-time and your bags come out quickly. Obviously if you can manage without checked bags that would make this a lot easier.

I know you can walk between terminals on the second floor. Is it feasible time speaking? How do I pay the bus?

You cannot walk from B to D inside. You can walk from C to D. The Inter-terminal bus routes are free.

I am arriving terminal d but want to meet friends at term b - is there a shuttle after I get my luggage ? Also where in terminal b is the best place to meet my friends - perhaps luggage area?

Yes, the Route A or Route B bus on the lower level will take you from Terminal D to B. Yes, the baggage claim would be a good place to meet them, however, note that Terminal B has a few baggage claim areas that aren't actually connected to each other inside (you have to go out to the curbfront and then into the next one).

  • Getting from Terminal B to C in 40 minutes

I have a 40 minute delay at LGA and have to change airlines. How can I get from B to C the quickest wihtout having to go outside and go through security again?

You can't go from B to C inside security unless both of your flights are on American. You will have to take the Route A or Route B bus or walk and go through security.

Is this possible to do in a very short amount of time?

40 minutes would be really pushing it from a reasonability standpoint. It's theoretically possible, but by no means easy.

How long does it take to walk from terminal D to terminal c?

5-10 minutes. They are connected inside security by a walkway.

I am flying from Toronto (YYZ) to New York (LGA). I am flying on the same airline and baggage will be checked through. I will also have pre-cleared customs in Toronto. Will my 1 hour 4 minute layover be sufficient to travel between Terminal B and Terminal C?

That should be enough time. Assuming both flights are on American that should be enough time. They run a shuttle bus between B and C inside security.

Yes, they are on American. That is awesome. Thank you for your help!

Where do I get this inside security shuttle bus?

It is located near the American gates in each terminal. Ask an American employee for help if you can't find it.
