La Palma SPC Airport Overview

La Palma Airport SPC serves the island of La Palma - one of the Canary Islands belonging to Spain.
The Airport is located 8 km south of Santa Cruz de la Palma, close to the shore of La Palma island, and can be accessed via motorway LP-138 (crossing beneath the runway through a tunnel and continuing to Fuencaliente via Hoyo de Mazo LP-123).

With an estimated 1.0 million passengers in 2012, domestic Airline Iberia, as well as some low-cost international airlines and charter companies serve the airport with direct and connecting flights. Domestic destinations are mostly to Tenerife Norte, Gran Canaria & Madrid-Barajas, while international destinations are mainly to/from Germany, and Belgium.

The new passenger terminal at La Palma Airport opened in July 2011 (next to the old terminal).  It has nine levels, levels 0 and 1 of which are for passenger use, and basement levels 1 & 2 are for passenger parking.  The ground level (level 0) is the arrivals level with 4 baggage claim carousels; it also houses 24 the check-in desks.  The Departures level (level 1) has a concession area and nine gates. Two boarding bridges have just opened. (The upper levels house operations and the new control tower.) 

Other services and amenities at present include: The new terminal has over 1,500 square meters of catering and retail concession space.
Information services for Aena (tel. +34 91 3211000; and Iberia (tel. 922-426-182), both on P0; five shops, four of which are on levels P0 and one on P1; a bar, a cafe & a cafeteria are on P0; three ATM cash machines, two of which are on P0 (BBVA Servired & Deutsche Bank Servired) and one is on P1 (Caja Canarias Euro 6000); four tour operators are located on P0; Lost  Luggage & Lost & Found is on P0, a Children’s Play Area is on P1; the Police is on P0 (tel. 922 426 148); the first aid station is on P0 (tel. 922 426 218); A meeting room (Taburiente) is on P1 (tel. 922 426 115).

Parking options at La Palm Airport:
1. Basement level 2 of the new terminal has 448 parking spaces. Entrance is by the new direct access road (if coming from the City, by theLaBajita road, take irst roundabout; if coming from the south on Mazo road, take the second roundabout via the rod parallel to new terminal.
2. The carpark near the old passenger terminal has 685 parking spaces with 10 disabled spaces.

To get from La Palma Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi or a bus: 
(a) The taxi rank is in front of the passenger terminal (tel. 922 440 825) and the taxi fare is charged according to the day and time. Fare 1 applies to 6am-10pm, Mon-Fri, while Fare 2 applies to 10pm-6am, and Sun/Holidays.
(b) The Airport – Santa Cruz de la Palma Bus line stops next to Arrivals (tel. 922 411 924).
