Linz Blue Danube LNZ Airport Overview

Linz Blue Danube Airport LNZ serves Upper Austria and its capital city Linz.

The small Airport is located in the town of Horsching, and close to the city of Linz, and is accessible: (a) from the east by motorway A1 West Autobahn, Exit Traun, and B139 to Horsching; and (b) from the west by motorway A8, then then to A25, exit Marchtrenk, and continuing on B1. 

With 623,385 passengers in 2012, Blue Danube Airport is presently served by Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa (both in the Star Alliance), Ryanair & other low-fare airlines, offering flights to European destinations, with connections around the world. Seasonal charter airlines take passengers to popular vacation destinations.

NOTE: The Airport operates Mon-Fri 5:30am-11pm; Sat/Sun 6am-11pm.  The Departure hall in the terminal and parking facilities are open 2.5 hours prior to first departing flight.

Parking options at Linz Airport:
1. Three short-term and scheduled flight parking lots with 1,000 spaces, 130 of which are covered (the uncovered lots L1, L2 & L3 offer the first 2 hrs free;
2. Two long-term and charter car parks C1 and C2 with 2,350 spaces. Both have fences & gates, offer the first 2 hrs free. The parking fee can be paid at the information desk, the ticket machine or directly at the gate by credit or debit card.

Rental car agencies are situated at the short-term and scheduled flights car park - just follow the Rent A Car sign.

To get from Linz Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a taxi, a bus or a train: The taxi stand is right in front of the terminal.
1. The bus stop for Blue Danube Airport Lines is in front of Arrivals. The Bus to Linz costs 2.60 one-way, a daily ticket 5.20 EUR. Tickets can be bought on the bus.  Ryanair has its own Linz shuttle bus.
2. The Airport provides a free 3-minute shuttle service to the Horsching train station on request, 5am-10pm. From there you can take the local train into the Main Train Terminal at Linz, departing every hour & taking 11 minutes. Once at Linz Main Train Station, you have the option of taking the hourly Westbahn to Salzburg and Vienna, or head to the south by Phyhrnbahn, or to the north by the Summerauerbahn. To order a shuttle service from the Airport, contact the Information desk, or (coming from the railway station) call free 0800/206 600.
