We arrive in BOS @ 6pm on Virgin Airlines in Terminal B. We have 3 hours to connect to our El Al connection flight LY16 that departs at 9pm from Terminal E. What should we expect after landing at Logan - take shuttle to Terminal E and go through security again? Also how far is the walk from B to E with our rolling carry on bags please? Thanks!
It's not a long walk - you can do it in under 10 minutes. However, note that Virgin America arrives in Terminal C, not Terminal B, which is actually connected inside security to terminal E. Are your flights on one reservation or two separate reservations?
Thank you and Yes, these two flights are on 1 reservation.
I've got a connection from Austin to France through Boston (Southwest, changing to Delta/Air France). I arrive in BOS at 6:20 p.m. (Terminal A) and leave at 20:00 (Terminal E). I'll just have hand luggage. Is that enough time?
Yes, that should be enough time if the Southwest flight is on-time. Delta flights to Boston leave from Terminal A while Air France flights leave from E, so double check the operating carrier for the flight.
Hi, so I am planning to fly from Toronto to Mumbai with a layover in Boston, would I have to collect bags and re-check and go through customs and security if I have a pre-check at YYZ? (Also, the air canada flight from yyz to boston is together with my Qatar Airways flight)
Also, when I will be going from Mumbai to YYZ I only have a 3 hour layover, do I have to do the whole US security and customs process as well as collect bags and recheck and will 3 hours be enough for this?
Also forgot to ask if we have to recheck bags(2 checked-in and 1 carry on), since there is a requirement to switch terminals is it possible to check-in the bags at the terminal I arrive on?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. Air Canada uses Terminal B, not A. All you have to do in Boston is walk or take the shuttle from Terminal B to Terminal E, get your Qatar boarding pass if Air Canada can't issue it, and go through security. On the return, yes, in Boston you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, walk or take the shuttle to Terminal B, and go through security. You should have enough time.
Im a uk citizen landing at terminal B at 5.09 pm from Philly. I have to connect with an Aer Lingus flight to Dublin leaving from terminal C at 6.25pm, bought as 1 ticket, will i have time to go from terminal B to terminal C? cheers
Yes, that should be enough time. You will have to walk to Terminal C and go through security.
Our flight (BA213) arrives at Boston at 13:30 - Terminal E and our next flight (BA7741) leaves at 15:20 - Terminal B. Do we need to go through customs and collect our bags in Boston or will we do that when we arrive at our destination - Miami? Is 1 hour 50 enough time to get through customers and over to the next terminal? Is you have a connecting flight do they give you priority getting off? Really need some pointers! Thanks.
Yes, in Boston you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, walk or take the shuttle to Terminal B, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time. You do not get any priority by having a connection. Note that your flight to Miami will be operated by American Airlines.
We are flying from Ottawa (AirCanada) to Boston Logan Terminal B to connect with an Aer Lingus flight to Dublin Ireland at Terminal C. Do we need to pick up our checked bags and re check them in the departing terminal? Is there a trick to get from B to C? Thanks
Are your flights on one reservation or two separate reservations? B and C are not connected to each other.
Our Flight is on the same reservation made through Aer Lingus. Although they gave us two booking numbers one with air Canada in case we wanted to prebook our seats, and one with Aer Lingus. They reflect each other.. This is new to us as we normally fly with the same carrier direct from Canada. Thanks for the quick response.
OK, then all you have to do is walk to Terminal C and go through security. You won't have to do anything with your checked bags in Boston.
Thank you ZAP for your expert response. This will certainly be a comfort to my travelling party. I will assume that our 3 hour layover will give us plenty of time for our connection.
I am doing a similar trip. Toronto to Dublin through Boston both legs on Aer Lingus with 1H35MIN connection. I have Global Entry and TSA pre check. In your opinion, is this enough time to transfer? Unsure of the terminals but I would assume it would be similar to the above scenario.
Your first flight will not be operated by Aer Lingus. They don't fly from Toronto to Boston. Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto.
I am arriving at BOS Terminal E from Portugal at 4:55pm (SATA Azores Air). Potential connecting flight out is 6:20pm also Terminal E (Delta). Is this enough time to clear customs and make second flight? Not having to go to a different terminal should help right? I would book a later flight but there isn't one right now. Would have to stay another night and fly out in the morning...
Sorry, forgot to mention we will have 1-2 checked bags.
No, that's not enough time. No Delta flights depart from Terminal E. They all depart from Terminal A. Where are you trying to fly out of Boston to?
You are right, i was misreading the flight information. We are heading to Minneapolis (MSP). It looks like we probably have to stay the night and fly out the next day...
I'm arriving from Paris on a Sunday at 6:15 pm terminal E. Departure is at 7:55 pm from terminal A. Both flights are Delta. Is there enough time for Immigration, bag claim, customs, etc to reach the departure gate on time??
That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I will have Global Entry and TSA Precheck may help too. Thanks!
