  • Do I have the time?
    Feb 28, 2017
Will be flying from Iceland on WOW arriving at 5:30, need to catch a United flight at 7:18 to Houston. I won't be checking any bags and I have global entry. Also flying on a Weds, would think that would be less hectic then the weekends.

It's possible if the WOW flight is on-time and you check in online for your United flight before leaving Iceland.

Does WOW have a reputation for being on time? This is my first time flying them.

Punctuality is not exactly their strong suit.

  • Do I have enough time?

Traveling from Detroit to Boston arrive at 4pm, have to claim bag and recheck to aer Lingus for at flight at 625pm? will I make it?

Yes, that is enough time if the flight from Detroit is on-time.

  • Connecting between terminals
    Feb 27, 2017
I am coming in from Frankfurt into Terminal E at 2:20pm. No checked bags and I have global entry. I need to catch a Jetblue flight from terminal C at 4:40. Do I have enoughtime ? Also, can I transit between terminals without having to clear security again? Thanks

You will have to go through Security again in Terminal C after you clear customs. With Global Entry and no checked bags you should have enough time. Check in online for your JetBlue flight before leaving Germany.

    Thank you!

  • International to domestic transfer in BOS
    Feb 27, 2017
Wife and I will be arriving into Boston from Iceland on Icelandair at 6:35pm and hope to make outgoing flight to Tampa at 8:29pm on Jetblue. We are both US citizens and these would be two separately booked flights so we would have to clear Customs, grab checkin luggage from Icelandair and checkin with JetBlue for flight to Tampa. Is that even doable in just under 2 hour window?

Forgot to mention this would be Saturday evening Oct. 14

It would be really difficult. It's not impossible. If you can do it without checked bags I really recommend it.

Thanks for the info. Just a follow up, found out that Jetblue partners with Icelandair on the KEF to TPA route through BOS so our checked luggage goes straight through from Iceland to Tampa. So we don't have to worry about dealing with chckin luggage. Only issue is getting us and any carry-on from Icelandair to Jetblue. It appears they are in adjoining terminals (E and C), so is that a fairly straightforward transfer between the international arrivals (plus Customs) and getting over to Jetblue in C? Never been in Logan so I'm not familiar how the transition from the international terminal to domestic goes. Is it fairly straight forward/intuitive or is it pretty crazy/convoluted like MIA? And thanks for tip above. It led me to do some digging around before buying tickets and figuring out that they can be booked together and not separately.

That is incorrect. You still have to claim your bags to bring them through US Customs in Boston. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate in C. 2 hours would be enough time.

  • Connection time

I am coming in from Frankfurt Germany in terminal 3 at 6:35 pm and have a flight on southwest at 7:40 pm in terminal 3. Is there enough time to make the plane?

Boston does not have a Terminal 3. You will arrive in Terminal E and depart from Terminal A. You have virtually no chance of making this connection.

  • Customs on Sundy night

I will arrive from Lisbon to Boston at 1755. Would a departure flight of 2040 be doable after going through Customs and back through security? Is Sunday evening busy?

That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly. Sunday evenings are moderately busy.

June 6, 17 we'll be flying in from Iceland (originally from Netherlands) via Icelandic Air arriving at 6:30pm. The last flights out of BOS to GSP (South Carolina) are at 7:45. I'm not familiar with customs and such. Is it possible to make such a tight time frame? Should we even attempt to buy the 7:45pm tickets? Is there anything we can do to expedite the return customs experience? If we miss the 7:45 plane due to customs, will it be our fault or the airlines? How will this be handled?

Realistically no, that's not possible. Spend the night in Boston and fly to GSP the next morning or if you haven't already bought the ticket to Boston, get from the Netherlands to GSP a different way. If you miss your connection in Boston, it will be your fault since you booked two separate tickets.

  • Connection time from Terminal A arrival to Satellite A departure
    Feb 22, 2017
I have a 50 minute connection time between flight from RDU to BOS arriving in terminal A and flight to Amsterdam departing from Terminal A satellite. Is that enough time to make the connection?

Yes, that is enough time if the flight from RDU is on-time.

  • What will happen during our transfer of planes/layover?
    Feb 20, 2017
We are US citizens flying from Toronto on Air Canada to Dublin on Aer Lingus with a 1.30 hrs Layover in Boston. We are purchasing tickets as one reservation with these 2 flights and one stop. Will we have enough time to transfer? It will be terminal B and C, but not sure if we have any customs or other things to do.

Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. All you have to do in Boston is walk to Terminal B and go through security. Note that Air Canada uses a different security checkpoint from the rest of Terminal B.

Not sure if you were clear on my info. I am concerned about our trip to Dublin from Toronto. taking Air Canada from Toronto to Boston changing planes in Boston to Aer Lingus on our way to Dublin. You mentioned preclearing immigration that would be on our way back. Also you mention security for Air Canada, why would we need to go through security if we are leaving Air Canada and going to Aer LIngus? We will be going from Terminal B to Terminal C. Please clarify.

Actually the procedure will be the same on your way to Dublin. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto and then in Boston just walk to Terminal C and go through security.

I'm coming into Boston at 1510 on a direct flight (with either Condor or Thomas Cook) from Manchester (England). I want to catch a connecting flight to Augusta Maine at 1740, giving me 2.5 hours to do everything, clear visa immigration and collect and re-check baggage. Is this enough time? Thanks

That is just enough time if the first flight is on-time.

  • Connections - Portugal flight , conection to delta flight to orlando
    Feb 15, 2017
Hello, I need your help: I'm going from lisbon to bonston on a SATA flight and then I have to catch a Delta flight to Orlando. Do I have to go to customs and then chek in for Delta? Or is there an "internal corridor" for people in transit? Anyone know if Delta gates are close to SATA gates? Thank you

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then go all the way across the airport to Terminal A, re-check your bags with Delta, go through security and to your departure gate. You need at least 3 hours.

Thank you, lets hope the flight dosenĀ“t be late, i have only 3 hours...

  • Inside Security Between E and C
    Feb 12, 2017
I'm planning on arriving from LAX on JetBlue in terminal C and then depart on Azores Air in terminal E with a 2-hr layover. There will be no checked luggage. Is it possible to walk between terminals C to E without having to go through security again?

Yes, that is possible, however, you may not be able to get your Azores Airlines boarding pass except by exiting security.

  • 1h 30m transit
    Feb 7, 2017
Hello, ill be departing from halifax (canada) to boston and then to dublin, with a 1h 30m transit in boston. I am also required to change terminals from B to C once i arrive in boston. Do i have enough time? And do i need to go through security and check in again at terminal C? Thank you.

You will clear US customs in Halifax, saving you a bundle of time. But unless your airline in Halifax can issue you a boarding pass for the flight out of Logan( i.e. They are commercially connected with the airline flying out of Logan, then you will have to check in at terminal C and get a boarding pass. In either case you will have to go thru security at Terminal C at Logan as far as I know Plus...unless your airline out of Halifax can transfer your baggage to the flight departing from Logan , you will have to go to baggage claim, get your bags, and check them in again at Terminal C when you get your boarding pass. I think in such a case it will be tight and depend on how many others need to do the same thing at the same time Sometimes TSA is good about having a hurry up line for people in a time crunch or sometimes if you go to a checkpoint other than the one nearest the ticket counter, you can get thru much faster Hope this helps Good luck
