  • Transferring flights within Terminal 2

I'm flying with Aer Linus from Belfast and then transferring to a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt on a separate ticket. Will I need to collect my bags and transfer them? If so can I still follow the connections channel or have I to go through passport control etc ?

Has anyone heard of any delays with receiving baggage in Heathrow due to the looming strike or long delays at customs? I saw some pics online of massive lines at customs, but not sure if those were stock images or actual images from yesterday. I read somewhere that it might take an extra day or two before you can get your bags because of the strike? Flying today and I am getting nervous. Thanks for the help!

  • Transit in the UK connecting flight

Hi. I'm planning on going to Europe from Miami airport. Booking through American Airlines website. Most flights make a stop in lhr and connect to another flight to reach final destination. Do I need a transit Visa? I hold a Colombian passport, we do not need visa for chengen community ans I also hold a US permanent resdicence green card. Thank you. The connecting flights are always less than 24 hours transit time each.

Since you hold a US Green card you do not need a visa to visit or transit the UK.

Thanks. I'm a little worried now because you say I wouldn't even need a visa to visit and according to UK SITE I do. On the transit part I'm not sure if i have to pass immigration. I had read that if I don't have to pass through US border it's fine. And if I have to wirh resident card it would be ok to transit but it's up to discretion of officer. So now that you say I can also visit it confuses me more. Again passport from Colombia (no need for visa to schengen community) US permanent resident

Anyone with a US Permanent Resident card should be admitted to the US or UK. I'm still not sure which one you're asking about.
