Long Beach LGB Airport Overview

Long Beach Airport LGB serves the densely populated area of Long Beach, California, and is presently one of the busiest airports of its size in the U.S. It also offers California's lowest airfares - recently quotes as being the 'most affordable airport in the U.S.'.  In early 2014 it had received three awards for 'Best Food & Beverage Program', for 'Transportation Project of the Year (2013) & for 'Terminal Preservation'.  Long Beach Airport is a leader in making its entire domain environmentally sustainable and has recently received the highest rating of 'green' Airports.

LGB Airport is between Los Angeles and Orange County, in southern California, accessible from  Interstate Hwy. 405 (San Diego Frwy) to the south, connecting west to  I-710 and east to I-605.

With five runways and approximately 2.5 million passengers a year, Long Beach Airport is served by  some regular and low-fare airlines, offering direct flights to many U.S. cities, with connections throughout the world.

Rental Car offices are at the Ground Transportation Center located directly across from the passenger Terminal.

The well-maintained passenger terminal at Long Beach Airport, built in early 1940, was designated a Cultural Heritage Landmark in 1990.
