LGB Airport Overview
Long Beach Airport LGB is located between Los Angeles and Orange County in southern California and is close to I-405 to the south, which in turn connects to I-70 to the west and I-605 to the east. It is a small airport, serving close to three million passengers annually with direct flights throughout the United States and easy domestic and international connections. LGB hosts major airlines and their affiliates who offer direct and connecting flights to many US cities with connections around the world.
The art deco passenger terminal, built in early 1940, was designated a Cultural Heritage Landmark in 1990. Expansion projects around 1980 added two concourses to the terminal, but care was taken to retain the main facility’s original architecture. The terminal offers Wireless Hotzone covering the inside waiting areas, the outdoor patio north side, and the restaurant and its adjacent corridor. The 'Legends of Aviation' restaurant & bar has an outdoor patio & plasma TV. Daugherty's Cafe is on the first flloor of the terminal, Grab & Go kiosks and a Paradies shop are at the North and South boarding lounges.
