Long Beach LGB Airport Overview

Long Beach Airport LGB has a history going back to 1923, and is presently one of the busiest airports in the U.S.
The Airport is located between Los Angeles and Orange County, in southern California, and is close to Interstate Hwy. 405 (San Diego Fwy.) to the south (take the North Lakewood Blvd. Exit), which in turn connects to I-710 to the west and I-605 to the east.

With five runways and an estimated 3.1 million passengers a year, Long Beach Airport is served by  some regular and low-fare airlines, offering direct flights to many U.S. cities and connections throughout the world.

The passenger terminal at Long Beach Airport, built in early 1940, was designated a Cultural Heritage Landmark in 1990. (For detailed terminal information, click on 'Terminal Map'.)

If you need to pick up an arriving passenger at LGB Airport, use the free Cell Phone Lot, located on the northeast corner of Lakewood Boulevard and Wardlow Road. Stay with your car until your party has collected luggage and calls you to be picked up at the curb..

Parking options at Long Beach Airport include a free cell phone lot, garages A & B, & valet parking. (For detailed parking information, click on 'Airport Parking'.)

Rental car offices are across from the passenger terminal.

Long Beach LGB Comments

  • Too Expensive!

Far more expensive than going to LAX and parking in Hilton Valet!

  • Cell lot

The cell lot is on the corner of Lakewood Blvd. and Wardlow. Coming from the 405 go the light where you would enter the airport and rather than turning left into the airport, turn right. It will be on your left. The parking is really a non-issue. Look at SNA or LAX. Unless you want to park in Phoenix (and take shuttle buses) LAX is more expensive and SNA is the same. LGB is still far more convenient with shorter security lines, proximity to the parking lot, and boarding speed. If $30 makes that big of a difference in your travel budget for a four day trip, you probably should stay home.

  • WTF!!??

Are they serious?? I am driving from Santa Monica so I need to use the lot which has always been reasonably priced. NEVER AGAIN!!! BOYCOTT LGB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Parking rip off

Nothing like being strong armed paying for a new parking structure when Lot D @ $11 perfectly acceptable. Send a message to LGB authorities: If traveling solo more than two days, use Shuttle toLAX @ $20 each way.

  • Airport delay....

This is EXACTLY why it's better to stick with the larger airports!

  •

How disappointing that the airport offers convenience for flights as well as reasonable ticket prices only to make it up in absurd parking prices! Next time I'll fly out of LAX!!

  • Lot D closed

The airport closed the cheap lot (lot D), so now you have to pay $17/day for parking at the airport - ridiculous!
