I am arriving at LAX via Horizon Airlines and need to go to the international terminal to catch a flight that is departing in less than two hours from my arrival. What is the best way to get to the international terminal?
I am flying in from Beijing in Air China, they tell me on Terminal 2, at 6 PM. How easy or difficult is it to go between terminals? I need to buy my continuing flight to Miami and I am debating which airline to use? I will have to carry my own luggage from Terminal 2 to whatever other terminal I end up at. I would love to fly home that night if connecting time permits. Thank you
Yes, Air China will arrive in Terminal 2. It's pretty easy to get between terminals if you give yourself some time, especially going to 1, 3, or 4 would be pretty easy from 2. So if you want to fly to MIA, AA would probably be easiest as they have 3 redeyes that you could fly. Unfortunately, nobody flies any LAX-So. Fla flights that leave after 6 that are not a redeye (if that's what you're looking for). JetBlue also has a 10:15 PM redeye from Terminal 3 to Fort Lauderdale if that works for you.
I'm moving to LA and will be working at an airport (LAX) hotel. I'll have early, late, and weekend hours and I won't have a car. What bus or other public transit options are there for me to live in a reasonably close and decent place? Can I live anywhere in or near Santa Monica and make that work?
Congratulations on your new start! While I cannot suggest a 'dencent place' to live (my advice would be to rent a close-by motel for a week, make inquiries with your co-workers and look for a place to live when time allows. If you want to settle in Santa Monica, you can take the Big Blue Bus tel. weekdays 310-451-54444; (visit bigbluebus.com); The Culver City Bus shows an excellent map of the LA area, including the Airport (visit culvercity.org/Government/Transpotation/bus.aspx) NOTE: At LAX Shuttles, scheduled buses & Long-Distance Vans & buses available on lower/ arrivals level islands in front of each terminal under the 'LAX Shuttle & Airline Connections' sign): (a) for Terminal to terminal connection, use the A Route; (b) to get to the Metro Bus Center with connections to LA area, take the C Route; (c) to Metro Green Line Aviation Station, take the G route. Furthermore LAX is served by 2 shared ride vans: Prime Time Shuttle and SuperShuttle, operate out of LAX and are authorized to serve all Southern California counties. Good luck on your new adventure!
