Do all international flights land in the same terminal ?

No, Terminals 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 accept certain international flights in addition to the International Terminal. if you post what airline you're flying and where you're flying from I can tell you where you arrive.

Its lufthansa operated by unitrd from heathrow

You will arrive in Terminal 7.

Do they habe the new kiosks at terminal 7 for imigration ?

Every terminal with immigration at LAX is supposed to get the kiosks, but LAWA hasn't put out any press releases that it has been installed in any terminals other than the International Terminal, so I don't know. I believe the second terminal slated to get them was Terminal 2.

Is the Qantus LAX national terminal next to the Qantas international terminal so that a 45 minute layover is adequate to change planes and go through customs. Bagage to go straight through.

We have a flight coming in from Mexico at about 11pm and our connecting flight leaves at 6:45am. Note enough time to bother leaving the airport. But, with the timing of everything after going through costumes and getting our bag will we be allowed airside again or have to wait till morning? All flights are Delta and on the same itinerary.

You will have to wait until morning to go back airside. The checkpoint will probably reopen at about 4 AM.

Also, note that the checkpoint may still be open when you arrive as there is a 12:45 AM Delta flight to Atlanta. However, you may be kicked out of the concourse again after it departs, if you're even allowed through security at that point.

We are flying from Miami to Syd with a 10 hour layover in LA. We arrive at 10am and leave at 10pm so were hoping to get out and visit Santa Monica for the day. The problem is what to do with all our bags (there are 4 of us). I've heard of something called LAX Luggage Storage (luggage storage facility) which picks up luggage from curtsied and then drops off at the terminal you're leaving from and they charge per bag. Do you know anything about them? Are they reliable/safe?

Yes, that seems like a good solution..

We are flying Air New Zealand to LA. We are flying from there to Calgary via Westjet. Both airlines are in Terminal 2. Will 2hrs 10 mins be sufficient?

Forgot to add... we will be booking all through the same reservation and we will have checked baggage. Time of layover will be early evening.

Air New Zealand no longer uses Terminal 2. You will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then walk to Terminal 2, get your Westjet boarding passes if you don't already have them, and then go through security. You have just about enough time.

Hi, I'm arriving from London AA109 at 15h 40, dearting to Kona AA 59 at 17h 15, so just 1h 35 layover, will be enough time? Thanks for your help

That's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • 10 hour layover in LAX with luggage and flights on different airlines

I am landing at LAX on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 2:20 p.m. on Aeroflot from Moscow and then departing LAX on Monday, Feb. 22, at 12:30 a.m. on Volaris to Guadalajara. I am trying to decide if I should stay in the airport for 10 hours (but where? I will have one large suitcase in addition to my carry on) or get a hotel. But I cannot see which hotels have free shuttles on www.hotwire.com for example. Ideas?

There's no point in asking the same question twice in a row.

Just stay at the airport. By the time you get out of Immigration and customs it will be about 4 and you'll have to check in for your Volaris flight at about 10:30, you'll only have like 6 hours to kill. Definitely not worth getting a hotel.

Thank you, but for those six hours I cannot go inside the terminals (past security with my suitcase), because I will need to check it at Volaris, but they surely will not take my bag that far ahead of my flight. I will be stuck on the airline counters side of things for about 6 hours.

In addition, I am going to be rather jet-lagged having just come from Moscow (11 hour time difference).

  • 1 hour and 40 min layover enough

Hello I will be arriving from Syd to lax at 7:50 am in June on American Airlines and then clear customs to catch my domestic flight which leaves at 9:45 am on American Airlines. Is this sufficient time or will I miss the flight? Also I am a wheel chair passengers will there be any priority?

That should be just about enough time. Yes, you will bypass the security line in your departure terminal and go to a special line for immigration.

  • 4 hours layover - 2 separate tickets and different airlines

Landing at LAX Terminal B at 17.30 (with Norwegian) and need to catch a Southwest flight from Terminal 1 at 21.30. I am an European citizen, never travelled to America before but quite swift and confident about new airports. I'll have a checked -in bag tough. Is 4 hour layover ok?

    Same answer as before.

  • Layover needed having a checked-in luggage

Hi, I will be flying from London (Norwegian airline) to LAX and landing at 17.30. The flight I am looking to buy takes off at 20.30 from LAX (to Tucson) with Delta airlines. Is 3 hour layover long enough to get my luggage back, go through customs/passport check and check-in again with different airline?? P.s. My first long haul flight and my first time in America but I am quite used to travel by myself and get things sorted even if not familiar with the airport. Thanks Martina

Yes, that should be enough time as long as your Norwegian flight is somewhere close to on-time.

I know they are not well known for being on time :( That's why I am choosing the 21.30 flight. However, I was worried about passport clear and baggage claim waiting time too...

Passport control and baggage are generally pretty good at the TBIT at LAX, especially at that time of the evening when it's not very busy.

    Great. Thanks for the info.

  • Santa Barbara to LAX to Lima, Peru

Hi! I am wondering if I should book a flight with a 1 hour 45 minute layover at LAX when traveling to Peru. I am not a frequent traveler and don't know if my luggage would make this. Should I book the flight with the 3 hour 45 minute layover instead?

What airlines are you flying? Are all tickets on the same reservation or separate?

I will be flying into LAX from SBA on United Express. It looks to me like it drops off at Terminal 7 or 8. From LAX to Lima, Peru, I'll be using LAN Peru. Based on the map I'm looking at--LAN Peru is located at the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Based on the map of LAX that I found online--these terminals are found at opposite ends of the airport. Based on the few other flights I've had departing from LAX--it's a really big airport!

I would book the 3 hr 45 minute connection then.

Hi! We are planning to book Southwest arriving at LAX 7:10am to make our Delta International Flight departing 10:40am to Singapore. Is 3.4 hours enough to transfer flights? We do have check in baggage

Yes, that should be enough time.

Delta bumped our 70 min layover down to 55 mins. We arrive in LAX from ATL at 9:25 AM and depart to HNL at 10:20 AM. All Delta, booked under the same ticket. The change is not a big enough change to get to switch it to a later flight for free. There is only like 2 more nonstop flights going out that day after ours, we have 4 people (2 which are kids), and have a ship to catch the next day. How worried should I be with this change?

I wouldn't be worried that is still a very comfortable connection and with 2 more flights that day you should definitely get there.

    Thanks!

I fly back home from El Salvador on delta making a 1.5 layover in Lax before boarding to Seattle then back to Calgary. Is this enough tim? Also if I do miss the flight what would my options be? Thanks.

Yes, that should be enough time. If you miss your connection they will rebook you to Calgary the best way they can.

  • 6 hour night layover Delta LAX

Hi, I will be flying domestic to LAX and international out (both Delta). I have a 6 hour layover in LAX, but it is 7pm to 1 am, yuck. Looks like Delta has a new snazzy terminal 5 at LAX, but I'm wondering what I will do for 6 night time hours. ANyone have recent experience?

There are now tunnels connecting Terminals 4 through 6 inside security and 6 is also connected to 7 and 8 inside security. So you at least have plenty of space to explore without exiting the secure area.
