Making a flightJun 14, 201310We are flying into LAX via Hawaiian Airlines into Terminal 2 arriving at 7:45 a.m. on Monday. Our outgoing flight is on Delta in Terminal 5 at 9:00 a.m. with carry-on bags only. Will there be enough time to make the change from Terminal 2 to Terminal 5? Thanks.***posted on Fri, Jun 14

45 minutes layover doable or crazy?Jun 7, 201310Looking to book a flight on American Airlines from Dulles (IAD) to Honolulu. There is a 45 minutes layover in LAX. Would this be enough time to make the connection or not feasible with distance, etc of terminals. Any help would be appreciated!kkposted on Thu, Jun 6

2hrs enough time from Term B to Term 4?Jun 6, 201312I am debating to book an AA flight with a 2hr 20min layover during the end of August. My flight would arrive around 6:25pm from Shanghai at the Bradley Intl Terminal and I have to catch my next flight at Terminal 4 leaving at 8:45pm. Would this be enough time in August to go through customs, re-check bags, and switch terminals? Would it be faster to walk than to wait for the Airport Terminal Bus? Do I have to go through security check again when entering Terminal 4? Thanks in advance.Carolposted on Thu, Jun 61 person likes this post [ Like ]That will probably be enough time. Yes, it will probably be faster to walk than take the bus. Yes, any time you enter the US you have to go through security again. However, if your flight from Shanghai is on American you will not arrive at the TBIT. You will arrive in Terminal 4, same as your departing flight.ZAPposted on Thu, Jun 61 person likes this post [ Like ]

Help for traveling in LAMay 29, 201332Is Lufthansa airlines in the Bradley international terminal? And if I have someone meeting me there where would be the best place to meet? And if we have to transfer to Southwest what is the best way Thanks in advanceLaurieposted on Thu, May 23Lufthansa does use the Tom Bradley International Terminal. To transfer to Southwest you can either take the airline connections bus on the lower level or take a somewhat long walk clockwise around the circle (opposite the flow of traffic). I would budget at least 3 hours between the scheduled arrival of the Lufthansa flight and a scheduled departure on Southwest.ZAPposted on Thu, May 231 person likes this post [ Like ]1. At LAX, Lufthansa uses Bradley (TBIT or TB) terminal, while Southwest uses Terminal 1. The Bradley terminal is in the center of the U-shaped terminal arrangement (at left Terminals 3, 2, 1, at right Terminals 4 to 8, served by the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins - next stops T4 through T8, then over to T1 - 6 stops or about 15 mins. International arrivals need to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance & (if LH will transfer bags to SW), re-check in bags where indicated - if not take bags to connecting T1 and check them in with SW). At T1 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. You can meet at either TBIT or T1 in the Arrivals Hall, near the information center.thmay13posted on Thu, May 231 person likes this post [ Like ]

no monorail, why?May 20, 201320The existing airport terminal shuttle buses are too slow, because they get stuck in traffic. Why is there no monorail or dedicated train to get travelers to connecting flights? I have been through this airport multiple times. The buses cannot get me to the connecting flight on time, so I need to sprint from terminal to terminal, especially when the computer systems at Customer Border Control are down and Customs holds passengers in the hallways and refuse to process them for 1+ hours.travelerposted on Sun, May 19Because such a system would cost Hundreds of Millions of dollars and LAWA doesn't have that kind of money to spend.ZAPposted on Sun, May 19Newest developments regarding LAX terminal transfers: The Los Angeles City Council has given a green light to a planned massive reconstruction of LAX, involving relocation of a runway, adding a light-rail station linked to the city's public transit system and to the terminals by an elevated people mover, as well as the eventual demolition of Terminals 1, 2 & 3. No time frame has yet been announced.momay13posted on Mon, May 20

2 hours between Tom Bradley and..Jun 5, 201330I arrive from Sydney at LAX 9:30am at Tom Bradley and depart for quito, ecuador with United Air at 11:30am is this enough time?Samposted on Fri, May 17As an international arrival at LAX, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. MAKE SURE that your first airline will transfer bags to your United connection - if not, you would need to take your bag along to your connecting terminal and check it in there. After customs clearance, exit Bradley Terminal and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Starting from Bradley, the next stops are at Terminals T4, T5, T6, T7 - taking 9-12 mins. United uses both T6 (gates 60-67) & T7 (gates 70-77). Note that on arrival at either T6 or T7 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. Your time should suffice.samay13posted on Sat, May 18Are you sure you are on United to Quito? They do not fly from Los Angeles to Quito. In fact, I can't find any airline that flies from Los Angeles to Quito nonstop.ZAPposted on Sun, May 19

Tight connection????May 12, 201310We are arriving at 7:30am on a Friday morning on a Virgin Australia flight into terminal 5, with a connecting Delta flight at 10:05am from terminal 5. Will 2 hours and 35 minutes be enough to make this connection?SBposted on Sun, May 12Internatinal arrivals at LAX need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag; thereafter proceed to the Departure level, go through security check. Across frothe duty-free shop in the gateway area are gates 51-59, divided into clusters of 50A -51B gates, 52A -53B gates and 54A -59 gates. You have plenty of time.sumay13posted on Sun, May 12

Minimum changeover timesMay 9, 201320We are 4 people arriving in LA from melbourne on qantas at 6.35am, flying to Mexico City on Aeromexico and want to change our 2.00pm flight to an earlier flight. What would the minimum changeover time be given customs etc.Hebiposted on Thu, May 9I would be comfortable booking a flight out after 9 AM. Aeromexico appears to have a 9:53 AM flight that looks quite doable.ZAPposted on Thu, May 9On arrival at LAX, you need to to through passport check, pick up your bags and go through customs clearance - allot 1 hr. If Qantas transfers your bags to Aeromexico flight (check with Qantas), you simply re-check in your bags - if not, you need to take your bags along and check them in at Terminal 5 (add 20 mins). While Qantas uses both Terminals T4 & the Bradley terminal (TBIT or TB), Aeromexico uses Terminal 5. If arriving at TBIT, exit the terminal and walk to the right to T4 and adjacent T5 where you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate (a 10-min. walk). (Alternatively, you could take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins.)thmay13posted on Thu, May 9
