  • Connetion time 1 hr, Terminal 6 to Terminal 1,
    May 5, 2016
I will arrive Terminal 6 (Alaska airline) at 5:50 AM, then connect to another flight at Terminal 1 (Southwest) depart at 7 AM. Will i have enough time ? How, and Do I need to go pass Security Check again (my flights domestic) ? Thank you !

Yes, you will have to go through security again in T1. With checked bags this will be impossible. Without checked bags this will be almost impossible. You can take the shuttle on the lower level or you can try to run across the parking garages to try to make it. However, the security lines will be bad and you probably won't make it. I suggest changing your Southwest flight to a later one.

I see. Thank a lot for the advice ! yes.. better safe, i will have another flight.

  • Korean air flight to American air terminal 4
    May 5, 2016
Coming into Bradley international terminal on Korean air at 10:40 AM, have global entry, how much time will I need to clear customs and get to American Airlines flight? 2 or 3 hours?

Even if you have checked bags, with Global Entry you can probably make 2 hours, but I'd prefer 3 hours.

  • Arriving from Phx at LAX then fying to Lima on Aeromexico
    May 4, 2016
Arriving on terminal 1at LAX from PHX at 6:50 am. Going to terminal 2 to catch Aeromexico to Lima at 9:15 am. Is that enough time?

That is barely enough time if your Southwest flight is on-time and your bags come out quickly.

  • layover time, 2 separate tickets
    May 4, 2016
Arriving from Japan on Delta at 6:45pm. Would like to catch SW last flight to SMF at 8:55pm. Will we need to pick up baggage, go thru customs, go thru security before checking into SW? Is there adequate time? How much time needed to go between these terminals?

Yes, you will have to do all of that (although you will go through security AFTER checking in with Southwest, not before). That is less time than I recommend. If there is not a later flight (Delta has a 9:55 PM flight, maybe consider that). Then plan on spending the night in LA.

  • British connections at LAX
    May 3, 2016
Arriving on AA but it's a British Airlines flight from SFO to LAX, arriving at Terminal 4 in LAX, we have about 1 1/2 hour layover and take British Airlines A380 at the interntational terminal , question is do we have to go thru security again to get to the British flight.

No, you do not have to go through security again. There is a new walkway inside security from T4 to the International Terminal.

  • Transfer from Terminal 2 to Terminal B
    May 3, 2016
I will be taking Air Canada 793 which lands in Terminal 2 at around 9:15 pm on May 13th, and I will need to transfer to Terminal B to catch Air Tahiti which departures at 11:40pm. Do I need to claim my baggage and re-check in , and will I have enough time to do it? Thank you!

Yes, you will have to claim your bags, take them to the International Terminal, check them with Air Tahiti Nui and go through security. You should have enough time as long as your Air Canada flight is on-time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Canada.

  • Layover time for 2 separate tickets
    May 1, 2016
We are flying Brisbane to LAX on Virgin Australia landing at 6.55am Thursday Sept TBIT. We are considering flying Delta T5 at 9.55am on to YVR. If we are only taking carry on luggage, is 3 hours an appropriate layover time? Is 6.55am a busy arrivals time for Tbit?

Yes, all the flights from Australia arrive at about that time, so it is rather busy. That should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Enough time in a 3 hour layover?
    Apr 28, 2016
Hi guys my flight from Melbourne to Los Angeles arrives at 630am and then I need to catch a la to Mexico flight at 10am. I'm flying with Qantas and then American Airlines so it is in the same terminal but it's a seperate booking so I will need to collect bags, go through security(customs?) and then check in to my American Airlines flight. Seeing as it's an international flight and I still need to pay for my baggage and go through security etc will 3 and a bit hours be enough time? Any help or previous experience tips would be greatly appreciated thank you! Also I'm flying at the end of July I'm not sure if that makes it a busier time or not..

It is not in the same terminal. You will arrive in the International and depart from Terminal 4. 3 hours should be enough time.

  • Is it enough time?
    Apr 27, 2016
I have a flight from LAX to INC (Korea) at on May 28th at 23.55. Will it be enough time if my flight from RNO to LAX should land at 21.09? (only 2 hours 45 mins) but as I understand when I get to LAX from Reno I won't have to go through any security until Im in TBIT terminal so that shouldn't be that long? I have checked in bags though...

What airlines are you flying? Are all tickets on the same reservation or separate? I can't answer your question without that info.

RNO to LAX is AA and flight from LAX to Korea is Korean Air. They are two separate reservations.

That should be enough time. You will arrive in the American Eagle Remote Terminal, then take the shuttle to Terminal 4, claim your bags, then take your bags to the Korean Air counter in the International Terminal, check your bags, and go through security.

  • Layover
    Apr 27, 2016
I am landing at 6.25 in the morning arriving from Tel Aviv and need to catch another flight to Phoenix AZ on a separate reservation. What the minimum time for a layover that would enable me to clear immigration and custom and pick up my luggage and change a terminal?

Assuming you are purchasing two separate reservations I'd want at least 3 hours between flights.

  • Connection time
    Apr 27, 2016
Arriving LAX 4/29/16, at 8:47 pm flight to SYD departs at 10:40 pm. Will I have enough time to make this reservation? CHS to LAX ticket is separate from LAX to SYD ticket. Second question ... Assuming I get precheck like normal, would I have enough time to exit and go for a smoke and go back thru security? Another question, one agent from Delta on the phone said they can merge the two reservations when I check in in Charleston, so if that's possible my bags will also be checked all the way to SYD, or do I have to get them in LAX and put back onto another line?

If your bags are checked though to SYD in CHS then you don't have to claim them in LAX. What airline are you flying to Sydney?

  • 2 hour window
    Apr 26, 2016
My son is coming back from Hong Kong on 7/7/16 at 10:10 PM and has to catch another flight 7/8/16 at 12:10 AM on a separate reservation to Miami. Does he have enough time to clear customs and make the flight?

If both tickets are on the same reservation, yes, that should be enough time.

  • International connection - 3hrs 45 m enough?
    Apr 25, 2016
Hi lovely helpful commenters! If I arrive into LAX from Mexico City on Aeromexico at 6:47pm on a Wednesday, will I have enough time to make a 10:30pm flight to Auckland on Air New Zealand? Allowing for customs/small delay etc.

Yes, that should be enough time. Note that you will arrive in Terminal 2 and depart from the International Terminal.

  • Connecting from T4 to T2 in LAX
    Apr 25, 2016
I will fly to Lax landed on T4, and then connect on T2, do I have to go through security check again? What is the fastest walk path?

What airlines are you flying? If those terminals are correct, yes, you will have to go through security again in T2.

  • Question about Connection Time
    Apr 25, 2016
I am flying back to LAX from Hong Kong on 5/26 at 2:50 PM on Thurs 5/26/16. Then flying back to Dallas on Southwest at 6:20 PM through a different reservation. Is that enough time to go through Custom, Recheck my bags and Security check Point?

Yes, that should be plenty of time. You will have to take your bags with you to T1 to check with Southwest.
