  • Terminal 1 to terminal 3
    Jun 1, 2015
I am coming in through Southwest at 11:40 am and have a connecting flight through Allegiant Air in Terminal 3 at 1:55 pm. Do I have enough time to move from terminal 1 to terminal 3? and do I have to go through TSA again or is there a direct pathway between the two terminals? Thanks

through LAX airport by the way

Yes, she will have to exit Terminal 1, walk along the roadway sidewalk, to T3, and then go through security. If she has checked bags she will have to transfer them herself between terminals.

Thanks. 2 hours should be enough to transfer between terminals right?

  • Do I switch terminals?
    May 31, 2015
My daughter is flying into and out of LAX on Delta. Both are domestic flights. Will she have to change terminals? She'll be 17, but has never flown before. Will someone be able to help her?

Delta uses gates in Terminal 5 and a few gates in Terminal 6. However, there is a tunnel that connects Terminal 5 with Terminal 6 inside security. Yes, agents greet every flight to assist travelers.

  • is 2hours and 5 mins enough??
    May 31, 2015
Hey, I'm catching a flight from Bogota,Colombia to Sydney,Australia. My arrival flight with Avianca will arrive in Terminal 2 and my Departure with United Airlines will be in Terminal 7. Do you think 2 hours and 5 mins is enough time? Appreciate the HELP!!!!

If you purchased your tickets together and run I think you can make it.

  • Which flight?
    May 31, 2015
Hi. I am flying wih Fiji airways to LAX, landing LAX at 1:35pm. I need to book a further flight to NYC. Does 4:05pm give me enough time to clear immigration and recheck baggage? Otherwise there is a flight at 9:55pm - would that be better? Many thanks

4:05 PM would be about the earliest I would recommend.

I am flying from MEX to LAX on UA293 which lands at 11h50 on Oct 9th, then my next flight is UA198 on the same day from LAX to PVG which leaves at 13h05. Do I have enough time? Do I have to clear immigration or just intl to intl transfer?

Yes, you will arrive in T7, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. 75 minutes is well below what I would recommend for this transfer, but it is possible, especially considering that T6/T7 immigration will probably not be busy at the time you arrive.

I am landing at Terminal 1 and have 1 hour to get to Terminal 2. Is this feasible?

    What airport?

  • enough time connect to an international flight?
    May 29, 2015
my flight will arrive from LAS into Terminal 7 at 10:34am and I need to connect to a flight to Narita (from Terminal 7) that is departing at 11:45am. Do you think I (non-US Citizen) have time to clear immigration and security check? Thanks!

You do not go through US Immigration when leaving the United States. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • From Bradley's terminal to DELTA's flight in 2 hours 40'
    May 28, 2015
my son will arrive from SPAIN with Iberia at Bradley's at 4:10PM and has to get the DELTA flight to Phoenix at 6:50PM, that gives him 2 hours 40 minutes to do it. is it possible to do this? his passport is Spanish. Thank you!

Yes, that is possible. If he purchased two separate tickets he needs to follow the sign for passengers ending their journey in LA (to the left after customs), then exit the International Terminal, then walk to the right (with traffic). The second building he will come to is Delta's Terminal 5. He will then have to re-check his bags a the check-in counter there and pay a checked bag fee. He can save some time by checking in online and paying the bag fee online before he leaves Spain.

  • Enough time to get from Bradley Terminal to Terminal 1
    May 27, 2015
Hi, I have a flight scheduled to land from London at 6:30pm and then have another flight with Southwest at 8:10 pm. What's the fastest way I could get to terminal one? I'll have two large suitcases with me.

The fastest way is to walk. You will have to bring your bags with you and wait in line to check them with Southwest and then go through security in T1. You will need to be in Terminal 1 by 7:25. That leaves you just 55 minutes to get off the plane, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, and walk to Terminal 1 (which takes about 10-15 minutes). I wouldn't say that this connection is impossible, but it will be extremely difficult.

  • Enough time for connection- Terminal 7?
    May 27, 2015
My son arrives at LAX from LHR at 1.45p.m June 16, his connecting flight to SEA leaves at 3.28p.m. He is flying with United Airlines, and United Express for the domestic leg. He is flying on an e-ticket, so I think his arrival and departure will be at Terminal 7-am I correct? Will he have time to clear immigration and customs, recheck his bag etc in less than two hours? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes, that should be enough time. Yes, he should arrive and go through Immigration in Terminal 7 and will depart from Terminal 7 or 8 (really just two sides of the same terminal).

  • Booked 2 legs with checked luggage
    May 25, 2015
I booked a flight from MCI to LAX on Southwest with 2 hours and 10 mins between my next flight LIH on Hawaiian Airlines. I'll need to go pick up my checked in luggage and check it back in to the other flight. How long will (could) this take me?

Assuming your flight from MCI is on-time, your bags should come out within 30 minutes. It will take you about 5 minutes to Walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. So assuming the first flight is on-time that still puts you at the Hawaiian check-in counter 1 hr 35 minutes before your flight, plenty of time.

  • Connecting from Delta flight from NYC to Virgin Australia to SYD
    May 28, 2015
My inbound Delta flight from NYC arrives Terminal 5 8.30 p.m. and have connecting flight to Sydney on Virgin at 10.20 p.m. Looks like I have to get to Terminal 3 to check in then go to Tom Bradley for departure. Is that correct? Doesn't look like I would have enough time. What is fastest way to get from T5 to T3?

Virgin Australia flights don't actually depart from T3, they just have their check-in counters there, which you shouldn't need if your tickets were bought on one reservation. You should be able to proceed directly to the International terminal security checkpoint. You should have enough time assuming your flight from NY is on-time.

I am getting rather confused by this! Have just spoken to Virgin Australia International and they told me that their flights arrive into Tom Bradley but that departures are from Terminal 3. Are you sure your info. is correct and that T3 is only check-in and that I should go to TB? Sorry to query you but advice seems to be conflicting. Thank you.

Can I make a connection between a southwest flight that arrives into LAX at 10 am and a United flight that would leave for Hawaii at 11 am?

  • Connecting flight from Baltimore to LA to India
    May 23, 2015
Hi, I am taking a SouthWest flight from Baltimore to LA, arriving at 12:05 PM. (probably at Terminal 5-7) I have to board an Etihad Airways flight which departs at 4:45 PM from Terminal B. I will have 4 pieces of baggage. What is the best option to travel to terminal B? Is this sufficient time? Will I have to go through customs at LAX?

Southwest flights into LA use Terminal 1. The best way to get from Terminal 1 to the international terminal is to walk. It takes maybe 15 minutes. You do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. You will have to transfer your bags yourself to the international Terminal. You should have plenty of time.

Your Etihad flight will be flying back over Baltimore to get to Abu Dhabi. Someone seems to have messed up your booking!

Thanks Steve. I know! My company's travel agent booked a non re-routable flight. I was working in LA in Feb and moved to Baltimore later. Now I will have to travel back cause Etihad airways seems to have this stupid fare rules.

Thanks! Now I will be travelling by United which will land at Terminal 7. I will have a lot of time to kill at LAX now :( Any idea if there are shops at LAX from where I can buy chocolates in bulk?

  • connecting flight after COPA arrival from Panama City ?
    May 20, 2015
Our flight is scheduled to arrive @ 4:48 PM from Panama City (COPA) and the connecting flight is now departing @ 7:37 PM (was originally 8:46 PM but United moved the flight up by an hour +). Does this allow enough time to clear customs and get to departure gate?

That should still be plenty of time.
