I will be arriving Norwegian from Copenhagen Denmark at 6:00pm. Need to catch a domestic flight via Southwest or American to Phoenix, AZ the same evening. How much time will I need to get through customs and to domestic terminals? Thanks
Arriving from San Jose at Los Angeles at 18:25 (Terminal 5) and connecting to an international flight at 21:35 in Terminal B. How do I get there and is that enough time?
Also, will be bags be checked into my next flight for me? Or will I have to pick them up and check them in again?
What airlines are you flying?
What airlines are you flying?
BA4777 codeshare SJC to LAX then BA0268 LAX to LHR.
We are looking to fly SAN-LAX-LIH (kuai).
SAN-LAX arrives at 10:30 (American eagle/Skywest)
LAX-LIH departs 11:10 and there is terminal change. Is 40 min enough?

Alternative is to take 7:30 am from SAN but that means 2.5 hour layover and leaving house 5 am. Prefer later flight but concerned if we have high likelihood to miss tight connection

What is your advice?
That's a difficult connection as you will have to take the shuttle bus from the American Eagle Remote Terminal after you arrive from San Diego.
Arrive Wow Air from Iceland at 8pm. Depart United 11 pm to San Diego. is there sufficient time to make connection? Thank you.
Yes, that is enough time if the Wow flight is on-time, which isn't something I'd bet on.
I'm wondering if we will be able to make this connection on Nov 4 with 2hr:40min between flights. We will be on a flight arriving from MEX (AeroMexico) to LAX (International Terminal?) at 2:55 pm. We then have a flight on SW - Terminal 1 scheduled to leave at 5:35 pm. (These are separate tickets.) SW requires check-in only 10 minutes before departure, but as I understand it our checked bags will be offloaded and we will need to go through customs and get to Terminal 1 for our SW flight. Do you think we'll be able to make this connection?
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly. Note that Southwest requires that bags be checked 45 minutes prior to departure at LAX even though their check-in cutoff is 10 minutes. You will have to transfer your bags to Terminal 1 yourselves. Also, Aeromexico uses Terminal 2, not the International Terminal.
You're so helpful. Thank you!
I am looking at purchasing a flight that would fly into LAX from TPE at 4:20pm, & a Southwest flight from LAX to DAL on the same day departing at 6:00pm. I am traveling only with a carry-on backpack. Despite that, is 1 hr 40 min too short for me to get through immigration/customs in TB and dart to T1/make it to my gate? (There is another option where the LAX layover would be 5 hr 50 min.)
Thanks in advance
With carry-ons only it's possible but leaves no time to spare. Check in for your Southwest flight before leaving Taipei.
Thanks for replying! Since 6:00pm is the last flight departing to Dallas for that day, I guess I should act a little more prudently and just go with the other TPE-LAX option that would result in a 5 hr 50 min layover--even though it's also a little more expensive?
Yes, that's what I would do if you are insistent on flying Southwest to Dallas.
I am making connection tomorrow in LAX. The arriving flight (DL1298) got delayed, and it only leaves 59 minutes for me to catch my next flight (DL2776). Is it enough?
Yes, that is enough time. Delta runs a shuttle inside security between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
Which terminal at LAX does Southwest flight out of to OAK - Oakland? I google it and only get ads.
All Southwest departures from LAX are from Terminal 1.
Thank you!
The company I work for has booked me on a flight home from Shanghai to New York connecting in LAX. I'd like to add a few days stopover in LA to visit family (on my own dime) by booking my own flight from LA to NYC and just not boarding the final leg of my Delta PVG>LAX>JFK. Am I correct in thinking that I will have to collect my checked baggage in LA to go through customs before 'continuing' on to NYC?
Yes, you will have to claim your bags in LAX to take them through US Customs.
Hi, I just realized that we only have 90 minute to transfer planes in LAX. Will that be enough time?
What airlines are you flying? Are both flights on the same reservation? Do you have checked bags?
We are on Alaska airlines and yes both flights are on same reservation. We will have bags. I talked to Alaska last night and they said that it is a 'legal' layover time so they wouldn't switch me to a later second leg without me paying a lot of money. They said both my legs will be in the same terminal given both Alaska flights and same reservation.
