As an international arrival at LAX, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. MAKE SURE that your first airline will transfer bags to your United connection - if not, you would need to take your bag along to your connecting terminal and check it in there. After customs clearance, exit Bradley Terminal and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Starting from Bradley, the next stops are at Terminals T4, T5, T6, T7 - taking 9-12 mins. United uses both T6 (gates 60-67) & T7 (gates 70-77). Note that on arrival at either T6 or T7 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. Your time should suffice.

You can either walk across the middle of the terminal or take the airline connections bus on the lower level. If your first flight is on-time and you move quickly you'll have enough time.

I would be comfortable booking a flight out after 9 AM. Aeromexico appears to have a 9:53 AM flight that looks quite doable.

If Qantas transfers your bags to Aeromexico flight (check with Qantas), you simply re-check in your bags - if not, you need to take your bags along and check them in at Terminal 5 (add 20 mins). While Qantas uses both Terminals T4 & the Bradley terminal (TBIT or TB), Aeromexico uses Terminal 5. If arriving at TBIT, exit the terminal and walk to the right to T4 and adjacent T5 where you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate (a 10-min. walk). Yes, that should be enough time. However, keep in mind that Spirit is a ULCC like Ryanair, so if you miss your flight don't expect any reaccomadation. I would probably recommend the 4 PM flight on Southwest instead.

You should try to get an earlier flight to LAX. You have to go completely across the airport and back through security. Unless your first flight is early you probably won't have enough time to do that.

Hey Mate, No Qantas wont do the seat allocation for you online. Your preferences will be forward to AS but that is all. If you LAX-YVR was with Alaskan ticket number you can pick seats that way, though I assume you have a qantas ticket the whole way though. When you are at the gate, listen for your name as usually they want to see your passport again and sometimes will issue you with an AS boarding pass. This can be avoided if you go to the AS counter when at Terminal 6 (if can be bothered).

The fastest way is to walk straight across the lower level from T1 to T6. However, if you have time, you can also take the shuttle bus on the lower level (Bus A - airline connections).

There will be a re-check in Bradley. On the way back you will pre-clear US immigration in Vancouver. Then just have to go to the bradley terminal with yourself and your carry-ons.

How far is bag pick up to customs in lax? Can I drag a bike box or do I need a cart? And how much is the cart and what notes or coins do they take? Thanks

Usually the walk from the intl baggage claim to the customs counter to re-check isn't very far. I've never been through immigration in the TBIT so I can't tell you for sure if there are carts available or not. If there are they would take U.S. Currency (quarters and probably small bills) and possibly Credit Cards.

It really depends on the time of day, but the lower level at LAX is usually kind of a mess.

You can take the shuttle on the baggage claim level or walk straight across the area between the terminals on the baggage claim level. Either way hope your flight is on-time and RUN. If there's a lot of traffic when you come out the doors, I'd definitely try to hoof it over to T2.
