So I'm a newbie to travel. I booked in 3 parts or 3 tickets. Starting out at Ft Wayne and going to Bangkok and back. First ticket is united airlines and it takes me to Chicago then to Los Angeles arriving at 9:52pm. Second ticket is China Airlines and it leaves at 1:15am. Which I understand I must get bag and recheck it in with China Airlines. With no custom's check I should have plenty of time. I assume this but I imagine LA is big airport so on my mind. But my bigger concern is on the way back when I will have to check bag and go through customs. I will be arriving back at 9:20pm and AA takes me back to ft wayne at 1:20am. Will I make it? What if I had a hour delay? Be screwed huh? Thanks for any help

LA is a big airport but it's pretty simple. Once you get your bags from United, you just walk to your left as you exit the building (against the flow of vehicle traffic) until you get to the international terminal. On the way back you should have enough time even an hour delay should be OK.
My 16 year old daughter is arriving at Terminal 3 and needs to meet a tour group at the baggage claim at either Terminal 1 or 7. She would prefer walking over the shuttle. Looks like Terminal 1 is closer but not connected to 2 and 3? How do you travel from 3 to 1? Thanks.
closer to walk from T3 to T1. you just walk straight on the same sidewalk. T7 is much further and you have to walk to south side of airport.
I'm arriving on Philippine Airlines at Terminal B (Tom Bradley International Terminal). I then have a connecting flight to Indianapolis on Delta, which may depart from Terminal 3 or Terminal 2. How can I fastest get from Terminal B to either of those other terminals? Is there a secure shuttle so I won't have to go back through security, or do I have to go outside, walk to Terminal 3 or 2, and then go back through security?
You will be outside security anyways after you clear US Customs, so at that point it's easiest to just walk to Terminal 2 or 3, re-check your bags, and go through security.
Hello We have a flight from Calgary to Fiji and we have a layover in LA. We go through customs in Calgary. Do we need to recheck our luggage in LA
If it's two separate reservations then you will have to claim your bags in LA and re-check them with Fiji Airways. If it's all one reservation then you won't have to claim your bags.
Thanks very much. I am getting such mixed answers. I was told that it doesn't matter about the tickets or where you are travelling after, we would have to claim the bags and go through US border control in LA
Whoever told you that doesn't know anything about Immigration Pre-Clearance at Canadian airports. But it is true that it doesn't matter where you're going after. However, everyone on your plane from Calgary will go through US Immigration and Customs in Calgary.
I have a long wait for a SWA flight from LAX after a cruise. I'm wondering how difficult it is to go to other terminals while waiting. I'd like to use my club privileges or purchase a pass. Will I need to recheck through security? How long is the typical travel times to/from Terminal to the other terminals?
It is not possible to go from the Southwest Terminal (Terminal 1) to any other terminal inside security. It is unlikely you will be allowed into any other terminal with a Southwest boarding pass.
