hi, i'll be arriving from tokyo w/ layover at lax then take another flight to go to sfo all under delta under 1 ticket/itinerary reservation. i have 2hrs and 30 min layover in lax, is this enough time? would i have to go to immigration then collect my bags before my connecting flight? also, will i go to the sign saying "connecting flights"? thanks.

Yes, that is enough time. Yes, you have the procedure correct, I'm not totally familiar with the signage of the international arrivals hall in Terminal 5 where you will arrive, but the re-check desk should be fairly apparent after you clear customs.

    Many thanks!

Is there a shuttle bus inside security that runs between t6 and tbit? I'm trying to avoid going out of security.

No, there is not. There are no shuttle buses from any terminal inside security to the TBIT.

Arriving tomorrow on United @ 1930 and changing to ANZ @ 2230. I see you recommend walking as opposed to using shuttle. Approx how long at a normal or slightly fast pace? Thanks for the info.

It's about a 10 minute walk at a normal/slightly brisk pace. You should have plenty of time, especially if your bags are checked through to ANZ.

I booked an Air Tahihi Nui flight from JFK to LAX to PPT (Papette, Tahihit) all on the same ticket. The Air Tahiti Nui flight from JFK is operated by American Airlines and arrives at LAX at 9:54pm. My flight from LAX to PPT leaves LAX at 11:40pm which allows 1 hr & 40 minutes for American to transfer my luggage to my connecting Air Tahiti Nui flight. I am assuming this is doable otherwise Air Tahiti Nui would not have packaged the flights this way. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, that is enough time if your flight is on-time, but you will have to stop at the Air Tahiti Nui ticket counter to get new boarding passes, even if AA is initially able to issue them.

My mother in law is coming in on US Air from PHL and then transferring to American Eagle in Sept. Does US Air come into terminal 6 ... is there a bus that will take her to American Eagle?

Yes, US Air is currently using Terminal 6. You can walk inside security from T6 to T4 via underground walkways (passing through T5 first)

wondering if anyone can help. I arrive in LAX at 0655 at Thomas Bradley airport and have a flight out to ny at 0910 from terminal 5. Is that lots of time

That's enough time assuming both tickets were purchased on the same reservation, but it's not "lots" of time.

thanks, yes, ticket all done at same time. actually flying from nova scotia to Brisbane and then back to Canada via LA/NY to Halifax.I know this is a very hectic airport.

I depart from San Diego and arrive at Terminal 8 LAX at 7.50pm, and I have a LAX-Melbourne Australia flight from Terminal 7 departing 10.30pm. Have I allowed enough time to make it on to the flight to Melbourne?

Yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 7 and 8 are connected inside security.

first time lax and bit traveler. delta arrives 2pm and international flight @ 9pm. how do i go from delta to tbit? shuttle? walk? how about my baggages? cart? i have an elderly with me, can i use wheelchair assistance? its just il be carrying our baggages or pushing a cart, and i can't push wheelchair @ the same time. any help will do. also any suggestions/opinions will do.thanks everyone

I would just walk, but you have plenty of time to take the shuttle if you want to and that's easier for you, which it probably will be.

I'm coming from Tokyo and will arrive at Terminal 6, i need to get to Terminal 5 for a flight to SD, my final destination. I have checked in bags, so do i need to get the bags, then immigration and then get to terminal 5? or can i get to terminal 5 directly without collecting my bags?

You will have to collect your bags to go through US Customs. What airline are you flying from Tokyo? No airlines that fly to Tokyo use Terminal 6.

  • SYD-LAX then LAX - YYC

Hi, I'm flying Qantas from SYD to LAX arriving at 6:30am in Terminal B. Then I need to catch another flight from LAX to YYC (Calgary). There is a 8:35am flight by Westjet. The next one is Air Canada at 2:45pm. I prefer the 8:35am Westjet flight but I'm worried about not having enough time. Can you advice? Thank you.

    It's possible but difficult.

Hello: I arrive in Terminal 2 with Aeromexico and my connecting flight with Westjet leaves from Terminal 2 as well. Do I have to leave the terminal and go through security again or can I simply remain within Terminal 2 after going through immigration and customs? Thanks!

Once you clear customs you will be outside security. So you will have to go back through security to get to your departure gate.

I am flying from Hong Kong to San Francisco and have a connection flight from LAX. I will be landing at LAX at 9:40am. Is it possible to catch a connection flight to SFO at noon or even 11:00am?? I want to know how long for us to go through US immigration, claim our bags etc. The 2 flight tickets are separately purchased. Thanks!!

Noon is doable, but not risk-free. 11 AM, no way. There's so many flights from LAX to SFO, I would choose one around 1 PM if it were me.

Thanks for your reply. Just one more thing to ask. I will probably take 12:00 flight to SFO. As I will arrive at LAX on Christmas Day and the airport would be busier, is it still possible for me to take 12:00 noon flight?

Christmas Day itself is not a busy day.

Hi Arriving on QF17 into Tom Bradley, at 14.15 and departing from Terminal 4 at 16.15. to SFO Is this enough time or should we choose a later flight to SFO.? Thanks.

That should be barely enough time. If you miss your connection AA has lots of flights to SFO.

    Thank you for your info.

  • Delta domestic to Virgin Atlantic international LAX (T2 to T5)

I have 1hr 55 mins from the minute my delta flight from Honolulu lands till my virgin Atlantic flight to London. It's on 2 separate tickets but delta will send the luggage through to London so I won't have to get baggage. I have to be through security 30 mins before the virgin flight so that leaves me 1 hour 25 mins to disembark and get to T5 security. Is this possible? TIA

You have the terminals quite wrong. Delta does not use Terminal 2. Delta uses Terminal 5. Virgin Atlantic does not use Terminal 5. They use the International Terminal. So you have to go from T5 to the International terminal and go through security. You should have plenty of time if your flight from Honolulu is on-time.

Sorry, I was incorrect about the Virgin Atlantic Terminal, They do use Terminal 2.. You simply had the terminals backwards.

So you still think its do-able? How far is t5 to t2? ibe read the free virgin/delta shuttle takes like 20 minutes to get there and only come once wvery 15 mins which would screw us. Thanks so much for your help!

Why would that screw you? Worst case it means it takes you 35 minutes to get to T2. That leaves you still 1 hr 20 minutes before your flight. You can walk from T5 to T2 in about 15-20 minutes, but the walk is outside security.

hi there. first timer lax and tom bradley traveler. arriving via delta @ 2pm. international flight @ 9pm. how do i go from delta to tom? is there a shuttle? walk? how about my baggages- is there a cart that i can use? thanks

I arrive at LAX at 21:39 from pheonix and have a connecting flight out to Sydney from LAX at 23:35. Is that enough time to make my connecting international flight?

What airlines are you flying and were your tickets purchased together or separately?
