Hello, I am flying from Chicago to LAX this Saturday with Southwest. I am then catching a flight through Delta 45 minutes after I land in LAX to go to Hawaii. I am not checking bags. Will I have enough time to do this? Will I have to go back through security to pick up my boarding pass for my Delta flight to Hawaii? Thanks for your help!

You should try to get an earlier flight to LAX. You have to go completely across the airport and back through security. Unless your first flight is early you probably won't have enough time to do that.

I'm arriving from Sydney Australia at 6.40am into terminal 4 then have to get bags etc and go to terminal 6 Alaskan airline flt at 9.45am. Will I have time? Also any tips on quickest way to do this? Thanks.

Yes, that should be enough time. You can either take the airline connections shuttle on the lower level to T6 or you can walk - it's not that far.

Flying qantas from Brisbane to Vancouver layover 3hours in LAX. Continuing code share with Alaska airlines to Vancouver. Will qantas do seat allocation for the alaska airlines or do i have to get that at ALaska Airlines at LAX

Hey Mate, No Qantas wont do the seat allocation for you online. Your preferences will be forward to AS but that is all. If you LAX-YVR was with Alaskan ticket number you can pick seats that way, though I assume you have a qantas ticket the whole way though. When you are at the gate, listen for your name as usually they want to see your passport again and sometimes will issue you with an AS boarding pass. This can be avoided if you go to the AS counter when at Terminal 6 (if can be bothered).

arriving on Southwest T1, i have 1h to get to T6. What would be the fastest way? Thank you

The fastest way is to walk straight across the lower level from T1 to T6. However, if you have time, you can also take the shuttle bus on the lower level (Bus A - airline connections).

im arriving with qantas at bradley terminal, i go through imigration then grab bag and bike box then go to customs after customs can i put my bag and bike box on conveyer after customs or do i have to bring it to my connection flight with alaska airlines to vancouver? and how far is it from bag pick up to customs? as i know if i can drag my box that distance... on way back i fly with alaska airline from vancouver to lax with connecting flight with qantas to australia through bradley do i need to go through immigration and customs at lax and do i have to grab my bag and bike box in lax before i go to connection flight? thanks

There will be a re-check in Bradley. On the way back you will pre-clear US immigration in Vancouver. Then just have to go to the bradley terminal with yourself and your carry-ons.

How far is bag pick up to customs in lax? Can I drag a bike box or do I need a cart? And how much is the cart and what notes or coins do they take? Thanks

Usually the walk from the intl baggage claim to the customs counter to re-check isn't very far. I've never been through immigration in the TBIT so I can't tell you for sure if there are carts available or not. If there are they would take U.S. Currency (quarters and probably small bills) and possibly Credit Cards.

Carts are free inside TBIT FIS area.

    what shuttle bus a, b, 1, 2

    Bus A (Airline Connections)

THX. how busy do u think it is

It really depends on the time of day, but the lower level at LAX is usually kind of a mess.

Hi I have 1 hour 20 minutes to get from terminal 7 to 2 ua flight and air Canada flight at terminal 2. I'm new to lax and I need help

You can take the shuttle on the baggage claim level or walk straight across the area between the terminals on the baggage claim level. Either way hope your flight is on-time and RUN. If there's a lot of traffic when you come out the doors, I'd definitely try to hoof it over to T2.

I'm arriving on Delta at T5 and need to meet other people ASAP at United at T7. Anyone know the time it takes to get between the two terminals? Many thanks!

It's about a 10 minute walk along the curbside.

One hour connection in to T6 out of T8. It looks like you don't have to go through any security. it mentions a tunnel between the terminals. how long is the walk

At LAX, T6, you can walk (to the right) from outside the arrivals level to T8, which should take about 10 mins, (the tunnel is only between T5 & T7) - or take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Either way you need, at T8, go through security check.

That is 100% incorrect - T6 and T8 are connected beyond security. You will not have to go through security.

Arriving at terminal 4 and departing from TBIT, is 90 minutes enough time if bags are checked through? I've heard you have to leave the terminal and go through security again. I'm departing on air tahiti.

Yes - 90 mins layover at LAX is quite enough. On arrival at T4, exit and turn left; TBIT is around the bend (5-min. walk). Yes you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate.

    Thank you for your reply!

  • T8 to T7 in 1 hour 12 minutes

Hi. I will be flying on a Skywest Airlines dba United Express flight into LAX. I am pretty sure it will be arriving into T8. Will I have enough time to catch another flight from T7 if I have 1 hour, 12 minutes? I am new to LAX. This will be on a Saturday morning at 7:30am. Thank you very much for your time.

Yes, that will be plenty of time. T8 and T7 are directly connected and you won't have to go back through security.

Oh awesome! Thanks so much for answering. :) I appreciate it.

I fly in on SkyWest and need to make a Delta connection in 40 minutes. Looks like SkyWest comes in to terminal 8 and Delta is in terminal 5. Is it a quick hike?

SkyWest is not a marketing carrier. If your SkyWest flight is a Delta Connection flight both flights will be in Terminal 5. Only if your SkyWest flight is a United Express flight will you have to go from Terminal 8. If you let me know your flight number and where you're flying to LAX from I can let you know.

  • AMS-LAX-LAS: what to do with baggage?

Quick question and probably an easy one for you guys: I will be arriving from Amsterdam with KLM and connecting to Las Vegas with Delta (one ticket). I expect to arrive at T2 and will depart from T5. I know that I will have to pick up my baggage and take it through customs myself, but I'm not sure about the next part. Will I have to carry my suitcase to T5 myself, or can I leave it in T2? Thanks!

    There should be a re-check in T2.
