SW flight arrives at 3:30 and virgin flight departs at 4:45. I will not have any checked bags. Is this enough time between flights?

Yes, if you check in online for your Virgin America flight and your first flight is on-time you should have enough time. It will take about 10 minutes to walk from T1 to T3.

I have a 35 min layover from LAX to Sacramento. Is that even enough time?! Please help

What airline or airlines are you flying? Where are you flying from? I need more information to answer your question.

From Las Vegas to LAX for a 35 min layover to Sacramento

    Delta

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 5.

Thank you so so much! What a relief. I have never been to LAX

  • Terminal 5 to TBIT alone with toddler

Hi all, I will be traveling with my 20 months old daughter next month, ALONE! From Minneapolis to Taipei via Los Angeles. A total of 24 hours trip, argh! I've been doing a lot of research on how to make this trip as smooth as possible. One of my fear is how to navigate through the LAX airport. We are on Delta flight, MSP to LAX, arriving into Terminal 5 at 11:30 am. Then we have to proceed to TBIT to catch China airline flight departing at 2:30 pm. One thing to point out is, I bought these 2 tickets separately. Since Delta and China Airline are both Sky team members. I am praying they will check my luggage all the way to Taipei. I talked to agents from both airlines, they said technically it's doable, but depends on airport ticketing agent's mood of the day, hmm? Assuming I have to re-check my luggage, that will leave me with one luggage, one carry-on backpack, one stroller and one toddler. Here is what I image the process would be. Arrive into Terminal 5. Find a luggage cart, put stroller and toddler on the cart, proceed to collect my luggage, push them out of terminal 5, then we should be on a big concrete walkway that connects the terminals. Should I then take the shuttle or walk? Once arrive TBIT, we will first check in with China Airline ticketing counter, which I think it's on the same level as the concrete walkway and shuttle. Then, we will proceed to go through international departure security check. Did I miss anything? Also, one of the thing I remember about LAX airport is stairs, many up and down to go to different places. Base on my description, can anyone foresee any obstacles ahead of me? Thank you all in advance, any suggestion will be much appreciated!

Yes, you have the process correct. The only stairs you will have to go down are from the arrival level in T5 to the lower level where you will collect your baggage (and I'm fairly sure there is an elevator somewhere if you look for it).

Thank you for your reply! Do you happen to know if the luggage cart has "toddler seat" on it? Like the shopping cart at the grocery store.

    They do not.

  • Terminal 1 to TBIT

I am arriving at 8.10AM on Southwest Airlines at Terminal 1, I have one checked bag and one carry on. My flight for Hong Kong leaves at 9.40AM from TBIT (Tom Brady International), will I make the check-in and flight? What's the fastest way to get between the two terminals? Any help would be greatly appreciated, trying to avoid getting a flight the day before.

That will be difficult. You might not get your bags until 8:30 or so even if your flight is on-time. Then it's 5 to 10 minutes on the shuttle or walking to the International Terminal. The bag cutoff for most international flights is one hour so everything really needs to go perfectly in order for you to make this connection. I would fly in the night before.

Hi, what would be the fastest way to get from t7 to terminal B flight details for this evening .... UA 822V 26JAN IADLAX HK1 454P 750P * NZ 5B 26JAN LAXAKL HK1 1000P 800A2*

The fastest way is to walk. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Your bags should be transferred automatically and you should be issued both boarding passes in Washington DC. You will have to go through security again in the International Terminal.

    Thank you very sir!

  • SMF to LAX connection to CDG

This is my first International trip. Any advice would be VERY much appreciated!!! In mid-Feb, I check in at SMF to board Skywest DBA Delta Connection to LAX, have a 1h 35m layover at LAX, then board Air France to CDG. 1.) Is a 1.5 hour layover enough time to make the Air France flight at LAX? 2.) How can I confirm the Terminal AIr France is at - Terminal 2 or the International Terminal? 3.) Do I exit the security area of Delta, and go through security again for Air France? 4.) Is it best to walk/run to the Air France terminal, or take the shuttle bus? Again, thank you so much for this amazing forum and any assistance!

Air France uses the International Terminal. Upon arrival in Terminal 5, you will exit the terminal and walk to your left. The second building you come to will be the international terminal. You should have been issued both boarding passes in Sacramento. it is fastest to walk between terminals. You will have to go through security again in the International Terminal. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to answer my questions!

  • Southwest Terminal to Air New Zealand Terminal

Arriving LAX on Southwest at 3:35 PM and departing Air New Zealand 7:45 PM; will that be enough time to collect luggage and re-check in; and what is the quickest way to get from Southwest Luggage to Air New Zealand check in. Thanks for the help.

Yes, that should be enough time. The quickest method to get from T1 to the International terminal is to walk. You will just exit T1 and walk to the right and keep going until you run into the big modern building at the end of the U.

  • Help in LAX Southwest to Qantas

Hi, I did not purchase my tickets together and I was wondering is there a way to get a baggage transfer from the southwest terminal to the Qantas terminal? If not is there a golf cart or rental for something like this?

No, Southwest does not transfer bags to any other airline. There are no golf carts. You can either carry your bags to the shuttle bus or buy a foldable luggage cart and pack it in your checked luggage and push your bags to the International Terminal.

Hi, our flight lands at LAX Terminal 5 at 16.15 via Delta from Las Vegas, and our connecting flight with Virgin is at 17.50 from Terminal 2. This leaves an hour and 35 minutes. Will we have enough time to make this flight and will our luggage be transferred? We purchased all together.

If you purchased your tickets together your baggage will be transferred. All you have to do is walk from T5 to T2 (fastest route is by walking straight across the parking decks) then go through security.

  • Terminal 2 to 8, Run, walk or take the bus?

Leaving YVR at 20:15 and arriving LAX at 23:15-23:30. Baggage is checked through, flight is pre-cleared. I have one ticket with United from YVR to PTY with a connecting flight through IAH. Found out I am on a codeshare flight with Air Canada as the operator. This means terminal 2 to 8. If I run through the parking lot, is it easy and safe at this late hour.

Sorry, my flight from LAX to IAH is at 12:45 am. Many thanks.

Yes, cut through the parking garage and if your first flight is on-time you can make it. It's very safe. Note that your flight to IAH will probably leave from Terminal 7 and the entrance to all United gates is in Terminal 7.

  • Delta to Southwest

I will arrive Delta T5 at 2.30 pm and I will departure Southwest T1 at 3.45 pm. I have two checked suitcase. Do I have enough time to connect flight? How I can get T1?

You will have a tough time to make that connection unless your flight arrives early. You likely won't have your bags until close to 3. That already puts you at the bag check cutoff for Southwest. T5 and T1 are connected by a shuttle bus that runs on the lower level outside security.

  • Terminal 5 to TBIT

Hi everyone, I have an hour and 20 minute layover where I need to go from Terminal 5 over to TBIT. Will I make it in time? Also, this is my connection to Sydney AU. Do I need to collect my checked back and recheck it? It seems like my bag should be transported to my departing plane automatically. Thanks!

If you purchased all your tickets in one purchase your bags will be transported. If so you do have enough time, however, you will have to go through security again in the TBIT. If you purchased two separate tickets you are going to have a very difficult time making your connection. What airlines are you flying?

I did buy my tickets all together via Expedia in one purchase. I will be at terminal 5 arriving via Delta, and connecting to TBIT and Virgin Australia.

Then yes, your baggage should be transferred and you should be issued both boarding passes at your origin. You may have to show your passport to the Virgin Australia agent at your departure gate so they can put that info into their system.

  • Getting from terminal 2 baggage to terminal 7
    Jan 23, 2015

If our flight lands at 6am in terminal 2 and we must get our baggage then head to terminal 7 to check in for a 830am flight, is this enough time to make our connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time if your Terminal 2 flight is domestic or from a pre-cleared origin in Canada. It's a little more difficult if you will have to go through customs in T2 first, but I still think it's possible. The fastest way from T2 to T7 is to walk straight across the parking garages from T2 to T7.

flying with Air China (Operated by United) from DEN to LAX and have a 2-hour layover at LAX, then fly with Air China to PEK. I bought the tickets together, will have one checked luggage. Is that enough layover time?

Yes, your bags will be checked through to PEK. All you have to do in LAX is when you arrive in T7, exit the building and walk straight ahead across the parking garages to Terminal 2. You could also take the Terminal Connections shuttle bus which runs on the lower level. Then go through security and to your Air China departure gate.

Thanks! So you think it will be enough time (2 hrs) for me to get my flight from Air China?

Yes, I think you will have enough time.
