Presuming you lv SJC, and change planes in LAX to TUS - you may have to change terminals at LAX (which has 9 terminals - TBIT in the middle, 4-8 to the right, 3-1 to the left), depending which airline you take (look at your ticket). 1. A secure connection is now available between the TBIT & Terminals 3 & 4 at each side of it. 2. Terminals 5, 6 & 7 are connected by tunnel, and Terminal 7 has a walkway to Satellite/T8 and Terminal 6. 3. How far are the gates from each other? Because considering of my departure, i know i will not be able to get off from the plane exactly at 5:15am.

Your next stops after T4 are at T5 through T8, then bus goes around to T1 through T3 - 7 stops or 10 mins. You will have to go through security at T3.
