T5 to T4Apr 4, 201320I have a 69 minute layover and am flying in to T5 and need to switch to T4. Will I be be able to make the connection without leaving the secured area?MHSposted on Wed, Apr 3[ Reply ][ Like ]T4 and T5 are not connected beyond security. You'll have to hurry, but I think you'll still have enough time if your first flight is on-time.zapposted on Thu, Apr 4

International arrival from the UK to T6Apr 1, 201361Hi, we are arriving from the UK into T6 with United airlines and then flying out of T6 to Kahului again with United airlines. We have a 6 hour layover unfortunately. First question, does anyone know if we have to re-check our baggage in for our 2nd flight? (it's all on one ticket with United) and Second question, any ideas what there is to do in T6 for 6 hours.....could we go to another Terminal maybe? Thanks for any advice :-)Toni2336posted on Mon, Apr 1Yes, you will have to re-check the baggage after you clear customs. It's a simple re-check counter, you don't have to take it upstairs. Yeah, you could take a walk outside - maybe even take a hotel's shuttle van to that hotel's bar. Or you could walk over to the encounter restaurant in LAX's iconic "theme building" - http://www.encounterlax.com/ZAPposted on Mon, Apr 1Great thanks for your quick reply. Once we have re-checked our bags in again though are we OK to leave the building? I take it we won't have gone through security at that point? Sorry, not been to LAX before so not sure how it all works there.Toni2336posted on Mon, Apr 1Right, you will be in the non-sterile area when you re-check your bags, so you can do whatever you want as long as you get back to T6 about an hour before your flight to Maui.ZAPposted on Mon, Apr 1On arrival at LAX you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag where indicated. As you have plenty of time, I would suggest you go to the Bradley Terminal (TBIT, or TB) with an abundance of amenities & services, and which is the largest of the 8 terminals arranged in a U shape (TBIT in center, T4, T5 & T6 to the right of the U). After baggage recheck, you can take the escalator at T6, ground level, down to the tunnel connecting T6,5&4. At T4, take escalator up, exit and go to your left around the bend to TBIT - should not take more than 10 mins. Also, the center of the U shape has parking garages and in the midst of them is the 'Theme Building' with the Encounter Restaurant. On your way back from TBIT you can also use the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Starting from TBIT, the next stops are at Terminals T4 –T8. Back at T6 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate.moapr13posted on Mon, Apr 11 person likes this post [ Like ]Thanks, that's great - good to know we can leave the airport and get some fresh air, thanks again :-)Toni2336posted on Mon, Apr 1

I'm new to lax and I need helpAgposted on Thu, Mar 28At LAX, on arrival at T7, go down to the ground level, exit and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops will be T8, around the bend to T1 & T2 - 3 stops or about 8 mins. At T2, go up to the departure level, go through security check and proceed to your gate area. T2 has gates 21-28.thmar13posted on Thu, Mar 282 people like this post [ Like ]

TBIT to Terminal 4Mar 28, 201320I will be arriving from London on BA at 3pm. I know I will have to go through immigrationa and customs. Our flight to Honolulu leaves at 6pm. Will that be enough time? Is there any fasttrack lanes? We are travelling on with American Airlines on a seperate ticket but as the are alliance airlines wil that mean I can check luggage through from London please? Any tips welcome.daltonhposted on Wed, Mar 27That should be enough time - you would have to ask BA if they can check your bags through - perhaps you could call them to ask. Terminal 4 is right next to the TBIT so you won't have far to walk.ZAPposted on Wed, Mar 27

Non-US Citizen Passport ControlMar 27, 201300I am arriving at TB on an Emirates flight with my non-US citizen wife. This is her first time to US. How much time should I allow for passport control and US Customs? 30 -40 minutes for US citizen but that does not seem like enough time for her. Is 2 hours between arrival at TB and departure from T1 enough time?JRCposted on Wed, Mar 27

LAX connection to Panama City (PTY)Mar 27, 201310Hello, I arrive at terminal 5, (7:30am) flying on Virgin Australia/Delta & need to connect with my flight at terminal 6 (11:30am) flying Copa Air to Panama. I will need to go through security, pick up bags & re-check in. Will 4 hours be enough time for this?Dannyposted on Wed, Mar 27You have plenty of time. NOTE: If your first airline does not transfer bags to your second airline, you will need to take your bags, after customs clearance, to Terminal 6, checking them in with Copa. Terminals 5 & 6 are connected by tunnel - at the baggage claim level, take the escalator down to the tunnel and at T6 go up the escalator, proceed to the departures level and go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate.wemar13posted on Wed, Mar 27

I do not check luggage - carry on only. Do I have enough time to make my Portland flight? What's the quickest way to go from Term 6 to Term 2? Will I have to go through security again?Barryposted on Thu, Mar 21

Terminal to terminalMar 19, 201310Is I/2 hr enuf time to get from united express to united tohonoluluDonaposted on Tue, Mar 19You won't have to exit security, so assuming your first flight is on time it is doable. However, there's little margin for error. I hope you are on an early flight so if you miss your connection you can be rebooked on a later flight (UA has several LAX-HNL).ZAPposted on Tue, Mar 19

Terminal 3 arrive and departMar 18, 201310I am arriving at Terminal 3 on V America (from BOS) and departing also on Terminal 3 on Virgin Australia (to BNE) and have 2 hours layover. Since these are on the same terminal, can I assume that I do not have to go through security again (or the departure and arrival areas segregated in such a way that you have to effectively exit and back again)?pie27posted on Mon, Mar 18

needing lots helpMar 16, 201320If arriving at LAX on united from Sydney and changing flights to fly on to New york do I need to go through the Security area after going through customs I fly into terminal 6 and fly out of 7 and is there a quick way off getting to terminal 7 Also if I miss my onward flight due to heldups ect does United have to put me on another flight Thanks for any ones helppalmerston57posted on Fri, Mar 15On Arrival at LAX, you go through passport control, pick up your bags, go through customs clearance and then re-check-in your bags (35-50 mins); thereafter, proceed via escalator down to the tunnel connecting T6 with T7; take escalator a T7 back up and take elevator to departure level, there you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. Check with United as to their policy.samar13posted on Sat, Mar 16

Arriving T5 leaving T2Mar 15, 201310Is 2 hours enough time to clear customs and get from T5 to T2? Arrive Delta and leave Air China.internationaposted on Thu, Mar 14You only clear customs if you are an international arrival. If Delta will transfer your bags to Air China, all you need to do is exit T5 and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. After T5, it stops at T6, T7, T8, around the bend to T1 & T2 - five stops or 12 mins. At T2 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. If Delta does not transfer bags to Air China, you need to take your bags along and check them in at T2 with Air China. Your two hours should suffice in any case.frmar13posted on Fri, Mar 15
