Tight international connectionMar 21, 201311I fly from London June 20 arriving LAX terminal 2 at 7:45 p.m. I depart 90 minutes later on Alaska air to Portland from Terminal 6. I do not check luggage - carry on only. Do I have enough time to make my Portland flight? What's the quickest way to go from Term 6 to Term 2? Will I have to go through security again?Barryposted on Thu, Mar 21[ Reply ][ Like ]

Terminal to terminalMar 19, 201310Is I/2 hr enuf time to get from united express to united tohonoluluDonaposted on Tue, Mar 19You won't have to exit security, so assuming your first flight is on time it is doable. However, there's little margin for error. I hope you are on an early flight so if you miss your connection you can be rebooked on a later flight (UA has several LAX-HNL).ZAPposted on Tue, Mar 19

Terminal 3 arrive and departMar 18, 201310I am arriving at Terminal 3 on V America (from BOS) and departing also on Terminal 3 on Virgin Australia (to BNE) and have 2 hours layover. Since these are on the same terminal, can I assume that I do not have to go through security again (or the departure and arrival areas segregated in such a way that you have to effectively exit and back again)?pie27posted on Mon, Mar 18

Changing from terminal 4 to Tom BradleyMar 17, 201310I will be going from terminal 4 to International next week. Do I have to exit the terminal and go through security again once at International terminal? Typically, how long does it take including walking there (I have 1 hour 15 min connection time).ronswifeposted on Sun, Mar 17

needing lots helpMar 16, 201320If arriving at LAX on united from Sydney and changing flights to fly on to New york do I need to go through the Security area after going through customs I fly into terminal 6 and fly out of 7 and is there a quick way off getting to terminal 7 Also if I miss my onward flight due to heldups ect does United have to put me on another flight Thanks for any ones helppalmerston57posted on Fri, Mar 15On Arrival at LAX, you go through passport control, pick up your bags, go through customs clearance and then re-check-in your bags (35-50 mins); thereafter, proceed via escalator down to the tunnel connecting T6 with T7; take escalator a T7 back up and take elevator to departure level, there you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. Check with United as to their policy.samar13posted on Sat, Mar 16

Arriving T5 leaving T2Mar 15, 201310Is 2 hours enough time to clear customs and get from T5 to T2? Arrive Delta and leave Air China.internationaposted on Thu, Mar 14You only clear customs if you are an international arrival. If Delta will transfer your bags to Air China, all you need to do is exit T5 and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. After T5, it stops at T6, T7, T8, around the bend to T1 & T2 - five stops or 12 mins. At T2 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. If Delta does not transfer bags to Air China, you need to take your bags along and check them in at T2 with Air China. Your two hours should suffice in any case.frmar13posted on Fri, Mar 15

unitedMar 14, 201330I am flying in on United Express and have a 49 min layover to fly to DC on United. Will that be enough time? Will I have to change terminals.Durozzposted on Wed, Mar 13That's enough time but you'll have to hurry. It depends on what type of United Express flight you are on and whether your flight out is on United or United Express whether you will have to change concourses or not (Dulles only has one terminal). However, changing concourses at IAD is not difficult.ZAPposted on Wed, Mar 13Note that United Express uses Terminals (gates 70-77) & Terminal 8 (gates 80-88), while United uses Terminal 6 (gates 60-67). Look at your boarding pass and on arrival at overhead screens to find your flight & gate numbers. If you need to change terminals, T6 & T7 are connected by underground tunnel, while T8 has a short walking path between T7 & T8. In each case you would have to go through security check again and really hurry.thmar13posted on Thu, Mar 14Note that United Express uses Terminals 7(gates 70-77) & Terminal 8 (gates 80-88), while United uses Terminal 6 (gates 60-67). 12 hr stop overMar 12, 201321I have a 12hr stop over in LA and then connecting on a flight to London. Will I be able to re-check my bags for the connecting flight as soon as I get to LAX (12 hrs before the flight)?amfposted on Tue, Mar 12You should be able to (unless perhaps someone from that airline has to be there and nobody is yet because their only flights are late in the day). If you're on American or United it should be fine, with British Airways or Virgin Atlantic it might be an issue. So, it depends what airline you're on and how much before their first flight you're coming in.ZAPposted on Tue, Mar 121 person likes this post [ Like ]

Clearing securityMar 9, 201310Our Brisbane flight is due to arrive at LAX at 6,40am. We want to connect on to a Portland flight that leaves at 8.35am. Does that leave enough time to clear customs and immigration and get to Terminal 6 (Alaskan Airlines)? We haven't had our photo's or fingerprints recorded before.DPAposted on Fri, Mar 8
