Hi, I'm flying in to LAX from SYD Australia and land at 6.30am. Will I be able to make an 8.45am NYC flight? They are affiliated airlines (virgin Australia and virgin America)

That is just enough time if they are on the same reservation.

I believe I arrive at T4 on AA 170. Do I clear CBP at T4 or have to walk to TBIT to clear CBP? I have a connecting flight on AA to PHX at 16:25 on the same ticket. Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

As far as I know the T4 CBP is open, although the flight could now arrive in the TBIT as AA now has preferred access to some gates on the south side of the TBIT, however, it appears that AA170 almost always arrives at gate 41 in T4.

Hi, I'm flying American Airlines from Austin to Tokyo with 1h16m connecting time at LAX. It's all booked via AA and I have checked-in baggage. Is that enough to make it? Thanks.

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in LAX is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Hi, I'm flying United Airlines from Sydney to Chicago,, stopping over at LAX. It's all booked via UA under the same reservation and my layover is 1 hour 45 minutes. Is that enough time to make the connecting flight?

Yes, that's just enough time if everything goes smoothly. If you miss your connection because the flight from Sydney is late, United has lots of flights from LAX to Chicago.

Hi, i'm taking Singapore Airline and will arrive in LAX inpernationl airport and taking Southwest to go ABQ..taking southwest at terminal 1..i only will have 1 hr in between. Do i need to pass through security two times? meaning come out from international airport and go to terminal 1..or can i pass through without coming out from international airport? is there direct link to terminal 1? Thanks

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, take your bags to Terminal 1, re-check them with Southwest, then go through security. You do not have enough time. You need to change your Southwest flight.

Hi I'm connecting from American Airlines in LA and connecting to westjet with only and hour and a half for time. I have all boarding passes. Is there a quick way to get to terminal 2 from American Airlines. Will I have time?

You will have to walk outside and then go through security again in T2. This will be very difficult.

  • How long should I allow for an international transfer at LAX?

Hi, I'm wanting to book a southwest flight from Cancun to LAX on a Friday night to arrive at 7:30pm. However I then need to make a Qantas flight to Melbourne departing at 11:15pm. Do you think this will be enough time to get through customs and to check in with Qantas? I know LAX is a busy airport so I'm wanting to check before I book.

Yes, that should be enough time.

Thanks! Is it far between the 2 terminals?

  • 90 mins layovet

Hi, im flying AA from orlando to lax. Is 90 mins enough to transfer from AA to philippine airlines (international terminal) ? Do i have to go to pass security? Tickets are in the same reservation.

If everything is on the same reservation you can just use the new connector building to get to the International Terminal inside security. AA probably won't be able to issue your PAL boarding pass so you'll have to get it at the PAL gate. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.

    Thank you!!

I'm coming in on a single booked flight YYZ > LAX Westjet 1100 arriving at 11:42 LAX > MEL Qantas 94 departing at 22:05 Since I pre-clear customs in YYZ will I be checked through and be able to bag drop in LAX or will I have to keep my luggage with me for the day and not be able to check my luggage until 3 hours before with Qantas.

You should not have to claim your bags in LAX.

Arriving LAX from FAT domestic at 6:03pm Depart LAX to Lima International terminal8:20pm What do I have to do to make the transfer? FAT is an international terminal, but several years ago I had to go outside to get to international terminal at LAX and go thru security again. Has that changed with new tunnels? Will I enough time for transfer?

What airline are you flying from Fresno? Are both tickets on the same reservation or two separate reservations?

Flying into LAX T4 via American Airlines from Tokyo and need to get to T1 for Southwest in under 75 minutes - will that be possible after going through customs and then walking to T1? I only have carry on luggage.

No, that's pretty much impossible. Change your Southwest flight.

Thanks for the info, I'll go ahead and book a later flight then. This one will give me 2.5 hours between flight and I believe it shall be sufficient.

Separate tkts: JetBlue from JFK arrival 7:22 PM , transfer to AA T4 for LAX-SYD 10:40 PM departure, carry-on only. What's best way to transfer? how long it takes, walk or shuttle? Thanks!

I would walk. You have enough time. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

First question: Two hour connection. Will this be enough arriving 1:17pm from AA Compass Airline to LATAM 3:15pm. Second question: Am new to tunnels, will the connections be hard to find and what is the distance between terminals.

You will arrive at the American Eagle remote terminal and take a shuttle to T6, then take the tunnels to T4 and the new connector building to the International Terminal. You should have enough time. It will take you about 30 minutes to get between gates between the shuttle and the walking.

    Thanks!
