I'm arriving from Toronto to LA at T6 and than departing LA to Auckland NZ from T4. Layover is 1 hour and 20 minutes. How long it takes to walk from T6 to T4 or should I use a shuttle? thanks

Are both flights on American? If so you should take the pedestrian tunnel from T6 through T5 to T4.

Yes they are. Thanks a lot for the tip. By the way how long it will take me thru that tunnel from T6 to T4?

It shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes. Be sure to check your exact departure gate on aa.com or the monitors.

G'day. We're arriving into LA from Brisbane on Virgin. We have a Delta flight from LA to Nashville (3 hours later). We booked tickets seperatly. Once we collect luggage and clear customs, where do we recheck out luggage to get it on the Delta flight to Nashville?

Since you purchased two separate reservations you will take your bags to Terminal 5 to re-check them with Delta.

Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated.

Hi, I will flying with British Airways from London Heathrow arriving at LAX at12:55pm, then I purchased a separate ticket from LAX to YEG (Edmonton, Canada) at 4:55 pm. I would have to recheck my luggage in with Air Canada after customs, where do I go? Is this enough time?

Yes, you will have to take your bags with you to Terminal 2 to re-check with Air Canada after clearing customs. You have plenty of time.

I'm arriving from Brisbane on Quantas at 6:00am and leaving on AA for New York at 8:00am. Is 2 hours enough time for me to get to my connecting flight? I have checked in luggage and the tickets are one reservation

Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Thinking of booking a flight from Bna to lax southwest and then take a flight on Alaska from lax to Maui! How much layover time would be sufficient for myself and spouse to be able to make this happen? Would about an 1hr 20 min to an 1hr 30min be enough layover time? I know we will have to claim our luggage before we go to the next terminal and recheck it with Alaska, are they both pretty fast with luggage claim and check in? We would be doing the same thing going home, but in reverse!

No, that wouldn't be reasonably enough time. Baggage at LAX can take awhile and it's a long way from T1 to T6 and vice-versa. It might be possible without checked bags if everything goes perfectly.

Thank you for letting me know. About how much time would be needed to make that transition easier and more smooth!

I'd want at least 2 hours.

    Thanks!

I am arriving at &:15 am from Sydney on Delta flight 40. How much time should I plan to pick up luggage and get through customs? Would like to book another Delta flight leaving LAX for Minneapolis at about 1. Is that reasonable?

Yes, that would be enough time.

Hi, I am flying from Vancouver on Air Canada UA5547 to LAX, then United UA998 to Australia. What is required , will I have to collect my baggage and and will I need to go through US customs. Thanks

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in LAX is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I'm arriving T5, and connecting to AF at TBIT. My question is if there is a way to TBIT without going through security there. I've seen posts about a tunnel that I think is within the secured area. Can I do this?

Yes, there is a tunnel to T4 and then you can walk through a new walkway to the TBIT inside security.

  • AA from SJC connecting to China Air

We are arriving 8AM AA from SJC and on seperate reservations flying 11:30 am on China Air. Will we have to collect bags and go thru security again? Thanks

We are coming in from SJC on SW not AA, so we will be going from Terminal 1 to Terminal B. Will we have enough time?

Yes, you will have to claim your bags, walk or take the shuttle to the TBIT, then re-check them with your departing airline (there is no "China Air" - there is Air China which flies to Beijing and China Airlines which flies to Taipei, make sure to go to the right one), then go through security. You should have enough time.

  • Terminal 4 to Terminal 2 - how long?

Hi. Returning home from Albuquerque to Calgary. I'll arrive at Terminal 4 at 7:13 a.m. and my WestJet flight leaves Terminal 2 at 8:45 a.m. I have only carry-on luggage. Is this possible and how do I do it? I walk with a cane and am a bit gimpy.

That's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly. Note that if you are flying American Eagle from Albuquerque that you will likely arrive at the American Eagle Remote Terminal and the shuttle will actually take you to Terminal 6 from there.

Hi I am flying from Boston to LAX on delta. i arrive at terminal 8 at 9:30 pm and have my connecting flight to Sydney on Quantas airlines at 10:55. How do I get to the inetrnational terminal from T8? Thanks!

Delta does not use Terminal 8. You will arrive in Terminal 5. Do you have checked bags and are your tickets purchased on two separate reservations or one reservation?

How do I connect between terminal 7 and 2

You can take the shuttle on the lower level or walk straight across the parking garages (walking is faster). You will have to go through security again in T2.

  • KoreanAir LAX arrival, Compass Air/American Airlines Connection

Hi, I arrive LAX International Terminal on Korean Air from Incheon Korea at 15:10, then have connecting flight "COMPASS AIRLINES doing business as AMERICAN AIRLINES" at 18:20. Both tickets are on the same reservation, through Korean Air. Question: is there a compass Airlines re-check desk there, upon clearing immigration and do I have enough time? Also, where to find the walkway from Int. terminal in LAX to terminal 6? Thank you.

You won't find a Compass desk anywhere, you will look for stuff marked American. Anyway, your bags will be checked through to your final destination, but in LAX you will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go outside and walk along the roadside to Terminal 6, go inside, get your AA boarding pass if Korean can't issue it, then go through security and take the shuttle bus to your departure gate in the American Eagle remote terminal. You should have enough time.

Thank you. Which terminal is the American Eagle "remote terminal"? I looked on-line and found a map of LAX, which lists American at Terminal 4 and 6, and American Eagle at Terminal 4. There isn't a remote terminal listed anywhere, unless it is at the far end of Terminal 6 or 4? If I go to Terminal 6 and get boarding pass from American, then go through security in terminal 6, there is a shuttle bus within terminal 6? Thank you

Hi, could you please clarify this comment you made in relation to my comment directly above? Thank you! "...then go outside and walk along the roadside to Terminal 6, go inside, get your AA boarding pass if Korean can't issue it, then go through security and take the shuttle bus to your departure gate in the American Eagle remote terminal. You should have enough time."

I am foreigner fly from Japan ANA airline to San Franciso but require to transit at LA under co flight with UA. Do I need to check out my luggage and go through immigration ? Which terminal shall I go? Is 2 hours sufficient ??

In LAX, you will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go outside and walk or take the shuttle to Terminal 7, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
