Arriving from Melbourne, Australia in August at 9am at Tom Bradley and need to catch Westjet flight to Canada at 11:45am at T3, can this be done in the tight timeframe?
That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
I am flying from Minneapolis to Manila. For me, there is not directly flight and the only way to actually get there is for me to use two separate airlines not on the same itinerary. That said, in my past travels on this trip, I have never brought a carryon. I have some understanding and learned how to avoid the security lines at LAX on the layover. But since the flight from MSP to LAX is first, can I retrieve my checked in bag, and go to the Philippine Air counter to check it in and bypass the security line? Or can I retrieve it and check it in at the gate? In other words, if I retrieve checked in baggage, can I avoid security again, by taking the tunnels between gates? Thanks.
You have to exit security to claim and bag and re-check it. So you will have to go through security again in the International Terminal after you check the bag.
Flying AA from Wash DC to LAX then layover of 2.20 hrs to catch international flight to Manila
Is this enough time to get through customs/immigration, assuming no delays on first leg of DC to LA?
There is no US Customs or Immigration when leaving the US. What airline are you flying to Manila?
PAL....Philippine airlines
I guess I meant security
Unless you are transferring bags between airlines or aren't checked into your PAL flight you don't even have to go through security. There is a connector building between T4 and the International Terminal inside security.
Thank you, and if I neef to collect and check in baggage, will I be pressed for time?
Yes, that will make it difficult, but not impossible.
Hi - arriving on QF15 into LAX Terminal B at 0600, departing on QF3001 (LAX-BOS codeshare on AA) at 0820. After clearing immigration, collecting bags at arrivals hall, clearing customs, then dropping bags at transfer counter, assume I will be able to access the QFF lounge in Terminal B, but not sure how to then clear security for Terminal 4 or 5 connecting flight. Thoughts?
You don't really have time to go to a lounge. However, if you think you do, you can go through security in the International Terminal, access the lounge, and then use the new connector building to access to T4 and T5 inside security.
Thanks - made a lot of sense once you described it, as I realised that I would be airside once through the TSA checkpoint. I actually had plenty of time too, and was easier than anticipated to get through immigration, customs and transfer area. QFF lounge only a short walk once through the TSA checkpoint. Thanks again, appreciate it.
Thinking of flying SQ32 SIN-SFO and then SQ1336 SFO-LA.
Will book both flights in same booking.
Will I able to check-in bags all the way to LAX?
Do I need to clear immigration, pick up check-in bags at SFO and re-checkin for SFO-LAX?
You will have to claim your bags in SFO to take them through US Customs and then re-check them at the re-check desk, then go to your departure terminal and go through security.
Do you have to do another security check after arriving at American Eagle Regional Terminal when connecting with AA? I ask because it involves bus travel and that means you're out of the security zone?
The bus runs inside security on the tarmac. Since the only way to access the American Eagle terminal is a bus within the secure zone, there is no security when you get there.
Is Layover time 35 min OK to board international flight to Melbourne from LA? Arriving LA from Chicago and checking in all the way. It United airlines all through. I fear for short of time. Please help
It's possible but leaves no time to spare. All you have to do in LAX is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I'm flying southwest to lax then 2 hours later have a united flight. Southwest can't put my bags through to my united flight. Do I have enough time to retrieve my bag, recheck it and get though security in 2 hours?
That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. You'll also have to change terminals to practically the other side of the airport.
Glad I asked. Thank you
I'm planning go to Havana from Guangzhou China by LA, flight with Cathay and Alaska airline, on the return i have 3 hours for connection. Are the time enough? because are 2 international flight i have go to the security check again and i have to collect my luggages and check in again?
Yes, you will have to do all those procedures in LAX both ways. 3 hours is just enough time.
Hi! Hoping for some advice.

We are flying American Airlines both flights, Las Vegas to Los Angeles, then Los Angeles to Sydney. Our baggage will be checked through from Vegas.
But we arrive LAX at 10:13pm and our departing flight to Sydney is at 11:20pm.

Is this at all possible to make the connection?
Because it is going on to an international flight will we need to go through security?

It was booked through a travel agent.

Thanks so much !!!
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
