Connections are as follows: Arrive SLC -> LAX @ 830am Depart LAX -> BOG @ 1015am and coming back Arrive SAL -> LAX @ 735pm Depart LAX -> SLC @ 10pm Domestic flights are SouthWest and International are Avianca (separate itineraries) US Passport Checked bags both ways I've comfortable crossing LAX with bags and experience says I can do it fast. Do you guys think I'll have enough time to all the necessary things (bags, immigration, security) and still make my flights? THANKS!

Sorry, first time user, didn't expect it to format so poorly.

I think they are all possible. The first one is a bit tight.

  • From Terminal 3 to Terminal 2

What is the best way to get from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2?

Exit Terminal 3, turn left, walk to Terminal 2. You will have to go through security again in Terminal 2. What airlines are you flying?

Just found out our UA flight is being operated by Air Canada and arriving at T2 at 9.03p, with a UA flight to SYD departing T7 at 10.40p. Is there a way we can connect airside (w/out re-entering security)? What's the best way to connect?

and we don't have to pass through C&I. We do that in Toronto prior to departure

There's no way to make the connection without having to go through security again in T7. Just run across the airport from T2 to T7 and go through security. You should have enough time as long as your AC flight is close to on-time.

    Much appreciated, ZAP

I am arriving from MUC @ 15:25 on Lufthansa flight and my next flight is with United to KOA @ 17:12. Is this enough time to connect ? Thanks, Paulo

That's a very difficult connection. You will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then walk to Terminal 7, go through security and to your departure gate.

thanks. Any tips on how to fasten the process? can the airline give you any kind of support ?

What is the re-check desk for bags you keep referring to? I am coming in term 1 going to term 2. Are the terminals connected to walk or do I take a bus or train

There is no re-check desk in Terminal 1 as it does not handle International Arrivals. Terminals 1 and 2 are not connected inside security you have to walk outside security along the curbfront. What airlines are you flying? Where are you coming from and going to?

We will arrive via Delta from Atlanta. We have a 11 hour layover. We will then fly via Cathay Pacific to HongKong. Will we need to retrieve our luggage in LAX then recheck them the for the second leg? I believe we will arrive in terminal 5 and leave from Tom Bradley.

If you purchased two separate reservations or if your layover is overnight you will have to claim your bags from Delta and re-check them with Cathay.

  • Baggage claim and Recheck for Delta at LAX

My family and I are moving back from Belize to the States. We will be flying Delta with initial port of entry as LAX. Since we are moving we are going to have an excess amount of baggage (15 max size containers) that we will have to pickup at baggage claim, take through customs, and then recheck. Does anyone know how if there are any services available from the airline or LAX, that can help us? It is going to be very difficult to move that much baggage (along with 3 kids) through customs and to the recheck area. Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Why did you post the same question a third time?

I didn't. I have no idea how that posted again today! Anyway I talked to Delta and they are going to have someone meet us at the gate, although the rep said they had no idea whether they would be able to help us or not. We did reduce our baggage by 2 pieces. Still a lot but my 8 year old will have to step up and push a cart. As far as shipping we don't have enough to make the considerable cost worth it. I will let you know how it works out when we get there. Thanks for answering my posts

  • Connection from T4 to T6

Hi I am arriving from NewZealand landing at T 4 And have a connecting flight to Seattle on Alaska airlines all on the same ticket will I have to clear security ? Is T4 connected to T6??

Your flight from New Zealand will likely arrive in the International Terminal. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then walk to Terminal 6 and go through security.

I am flying American Airlines from Auckland it says on my ticket arriving at T4 which Where I think AA goes to will I have to still go thru US Customs ect...

T4 immigration is not open early in the morning when the Auckland flight will arrive - I highly suspect that the flight will use the International Terminal instead.

Ok thanks for your reply mate👍

my flight from Peru (LAN airlines) arrives 8:55 a.m at TB. I am trying to make a separately ticketed Delta flight to Texas at 12:45 pm. Will this be enough time? Is it correct that I will go thru passport check, claim my luggage, go through customs, then out of TB to get to Delta terminal? I will have to check my luggage on to Delta flight, then go thru security then on to my gate. Thank you

Yes, that should be enough time and you have the process correct.

    thank you

  • Connecting flight to SFO

Hi, I am flying into LAX at 6:30am from Australia on the 7th March and have booked a flight to SFO at 10am on flight 708. I'm not sure what terminals either flights are in yet, we will have checked baggage, do we have enough time to make the connection?

You will arrive in the International Terminal. Your departure terminal depends on what airline you are flying to SFO - what airline are you flying? You should have enough time.

Thanks, we are flying on United Airlines

Then you will depart from Terminal 7/8.

Hi I arrive at LAX on terminal 6 and I have a 50 minutes connection time to get my next flight at terminal 4. Is it enough time? I Thanks

Yes, that is enough time if both tickets are on the same reservation. T6 is connected to T5 and T4 through underground pedestrian tunnels inside security.

There should be carts available at the international baggage claim

Right. I know they have those little carts, but it will take like 5 of them for the amount of baggage we have and none of my kids are strong enough to push them, That leaves my wife and I to push 5 and wrangle kids. We have done it before, but it is not fun and I was hoping that maybe there was some kind of service available like requesting a bigger cart or even a porter.

No, there is no such thing in the international baggage claim. If you have more baggage than you can physically handle maybe you should consider having it shipped.

please advise how much tim ei need minimum to get from southwest terminal 1 then on to fly international to AUS, Says flight lands at 8pm, probably late by half hour, so land at 830pm, and next flight leaves qantas to AUSTRALIA at 1130pm....

Yes, that should be enough time.

Even for southwest known to be late always?

Southwest has a pretty good on-time record, especially into LAX where weather is never an issue.
