How do I arrange for wheelchair service to get from terminal 7 to terminal 2 - with my airline

At LAX, all shuttle buses are lift-equipped. The Travelers Disability / Emergency contact is 310-646-7911. When making reservations tel your airline that you need a wheelchair attendant on arrival at T7 to the shuttle bus across from the terminals, and again from T2 to your gate.

Hi, I am booked on an Air New Zealand flight, arriving at 1pm on a Thursday, would I have enough time to go through customs, pick up bags and get to Air Canada flight leaving at 3:30pm? There are 5 passengers and are Australian citizens.

At LAX, both Air New Zealand & Air Canada use Terminal 2, which has gates 21 - 28. Both Airlines are members of the Star Alliance - therefore your bags will be automatically transferred to your Canada flight. On arrival, go through passport check, pick up bag, go through customs clearance and re-check-in bags where indicated. Then move on to security check. In the secured area you find a Food Court, shops & duty-free, Currency exchange & internet kiosks - all surrounded by the gate area. You have plenty of time.

Stopped in for late lunch and made it dinner. Enjoyed the special of the day, grilled Hallibut over mushroomed rice with Spinache and a wonderful light cream wine sauce. Meal exceeded expectations and would be a value at twice the cost ($28/plate when we ate). House Special Margarita was perfect at $9. Sushi was fresh and thick cut but a bit steep at $9/2 pcs.

  • T5 to Bradley- Security

Hi, I've read through a lot of these comments and haven't really seen the answer I'm looking for, so sorry if this is redundant. I will be arriving at LAX at 9:30 in Terminal 5 and have a connection on Korean Air in Bradley. We are not checking any bags. Will I be able to simply walk from T5 to Bradley without going through security? If we have to go through security, does anyone know how long will it take approximately (9:30am on a Monday)? Any help is much appreciated!

T-5 is not connected to Bradley Int'l. You will need to go thru security again in the Bradley terminal. patstravelreviews.com

At LAX, you have two options to get from T5 to TBIT: (a) exit the terminal, then turn left, past T4, walk around the bend and enter TBIT (Bradley) - a 10-12 min. walk, (b) take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins; your next stops are T6, T7, T8, around the bend to T1, T2, T3 and on to TBIT - 7 stops or 18 mins. In both instances, you need to go through passport check before proceeding to your gate: Past TSA Screening at left are gates 106 - 101; past TSA Screening at right are gates 119 to 123, with access to bus gates 136 to 146.

I fly thr southwest, will land at LAX at 10:20pm and my next international flight is ANA at 12:10am. I only have 1hr 50mins to transfer. So far I know i need to pick up my check-in bags, run/take shuttle to TBIT and recheck in at ANA counter. my questions are 1. does anyone know the proximate time to get ur check-in bags out at T1? 2.how long will take you to walk from T1 to TBIT? 3. how busy the TSA screening at late night (~11pm)? and last question, does anyone know where ANA counter locate at in TBIT? thanks

    1. Only if Southwest does not transfer your bags to ANA, will you need - on arrival at LAX, Terminal 1 - go to the baggage level (2 levels down) and claim your bag, taking it along to TBIT and checking it in at the ANA counter on level 2 before proceeding through security check and on to your gate. As only T2 & T3 are connected by walkway, you need to take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins, and makes stops at T2, T3 & TBIT, taking about 7 mins. You have enough time for transfer.

Southwest does not transfer bags to ANY airline. Walking from T1 to TBIT is pretty far and might take close to half an hour. Security should be pretty empty at that time, even the Australia flights have left by then.

thank you so much for the answers!!!

Are you able to get from terminal 5 to terminal 6 without going back out through security? is there a passenger walkway or something? and how long would it take?

At LAX you can either walk outside from T5 to T6, or you can take the escalator on the ground level down to the tunnel connecting T5, T6 & T7. Either way, you will need to go through security check at T6.

are you sure about this????I have read and also talked to a Alaska agent that informed me you DO NOT have to go through security again when going from terminal 6 to terminal 5 at LAX via the tunnel

I will travel from Chicago to China and will transfer at LAX.I will have checked baggage and need to transfer from T4 to TBIT with 1hr40min. Will I have enough time to transfer? And will I have to pick up my baggage and check again in TBIT? THX a lot.

    1. Ascertain if your first airline will transfer your bags to your connecting airline - if not you need, on arrival at T4, claim your bag and check it in with your connecing airline at TBIT. 2. Walking from T4, to the left to TBIT (around the bend) would take 5 mins. - faster than waiting for the bus to come around (LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level runs every 12-15 mins). At TBIT you simply proceed to your gate (unless you need to re-check-in your bag). Past TSA Screening at left are gates 106 - 101; past TSA Screening at right are gates 119 to123, with access to bus gates 136 to 146.

Are there signs in the parking garages if i cut through 1 and 7? Is this the fastest way to get to this terminal from terminal 1? Im nervous i am not a frequent traveler all advise is welcome. I have 1.5 hours between flights

Whle T1 is nearly opposite of T7, with 2 parking structures in between, you can also use the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops would be T2, T3, TBIT, T4 through T7 - 7 stops or about 18 mins. In both instances you need to go through security check at T7 before proceeding to your gate.

  • What's the process?

My girlfriend is flying in to LAX TBIT on Qantas, then has to get to Terminal 7 for a United connection to Chicago, then on to Buffalo. Her layover in LAX is 3.5 hrs if her flight is on time. As far as I've been able to find out, she'll first have to go through customs in TBIT, and then pick up her luggage. (Does anyone know if Qantas transfers bags to United? Or where I could find that info?) Then she can either walk down or take a connection shuttle to Terminal 7, where she'll have to re-enter security and possibly then recheck her baggage through to Buffalo if Qantas doesn't transfer them. Is this correct? Is there anything I should warn her of when she lands?

Qantas & United belong to different airline alliances. Most likely she will have to take her bag after customs clearance and check it in at Terminal 7 with United. (Call Qantas to make sure). All terminals are served by the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Starting from TBIT, the next stops are at T4, T5, T6 & T7 - about 10 mins ride. At T7 she needs to go through security check before proceeding to gate.

She'll deplane and go through immigration/passport control, then collect her luggage and take that through customs. From there, it depends on whether or not Qantas can check her in for her onward flight. If they do, then she just has to hand her luggage back in for the next flight; if not, she needs to schlepp it around to the next terminal. Walking from 4 to 7 with luggage is do-able (done it myself, and I am a lazy SOB), but there is also a shuttle bus that goes around the terminals. I've always found that check-in agents explain things clearly, and LAX is pretty well sign-posted.

  • enough time.

iam arriving on delta from cvg and flying on virgin australia with a lay over of 37 min,is it enough time?

37 mins is too short a time if you have the following circumstances: (a) If arriving Delta flight is late; (b) If Delta does not transfer your bags to Virgin Australia (in which case you would need to claim your bags at Terminal 5 and re-check them in a the Virgin Australia counter in Terminal 3. Also, as the 9 terminals at LAX are arranged in a U-shape, your terminals are at opposite sides of their parking garages. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text. Pay attention to "Getting around LAX" and beyond.
