I have SOUTHWEST flight from PHX to LAX arrival at 8:25 AM .May be at terminal 1 and I have connecting international flight to SYD at 11 AM from Terminal B. I am travelling with my wife and checked luggage.
Is this time enough to catch the connecting flight?
Do i need to go through customs on terminal 1?
Is there any option or suggestion to catch it?
There is no US Customs when flying on domestic flights or leaving the US. you will have to claim your bags from Southwest, take them to the International Terminal and check them with your second airline then go through security. You have enough time if the Southwest flight is on-time.
I'm worried I won't have enough time between flights in lax. I'm flying into lax from Japan and only have a two hour layover before my flight to Dallas. I also am traveling with my two kids under the age of three alone. I'm worried I won't have enough time to get checked bags, go through customs and security, recheck bags and get to my gate. Can anyone put my mind at ease or give me advice so I can hopefully make my next flight? Also, we are traveling the week before Christmas... I'm sure that makes it worse..
It's possible, but you're right it doesn't leave a lot of time to spare. On a better note, American flies frequent flights from LAX to Dallas if that's the airline you are on.
Hi I'm flying from Las Vegas to Auckland New Zealand with a connecting flight in Lax. I land at LAX at 10pm and flight out at 11.25pm to auckland although AA. Was booked as 1. Is that enough time? Do I have to recheck my luggage?
Sorry meant all through AA(American Airlines)
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your bags.
Thank you! Eases the mind a little bit 😁
Son has a 11:55 AM flight LAX-HND on JAL. We have a choice for his domestic flight (BNA--LAX) between SouthWest, arrival 9:40AM, or American, arrival 8:50AM. Which one would arrive closest to the international terminal where he needs to check in for his JAL flight ? Would it be better (aside from the earlier arrival) to take the AA flight as they are now partnered with JAL ? Would that be helpful in case of a delay? Or is SW more reliable/on time ? (Separate tickets and he will have luggage to check.) How long is check-in/security for JAL in general ?
Definitely the American flight. The Southwest flight is not enough time. Check in for JAL is generally not bad. If you show your JAL confirmation to the AA agent in Nashville they should be able to check your bags through to Haneda.
Hi ZAP, you are very helpful on here, I see. Thank you for your comments to all these. So about checking bags in. I'm going domestic to international on two separate flights (different airlines, different bookings)- in other words, I made my own arrangements, and when i check in, I go SFO-LAX. Then LAX to Japan. When I check in the first airline, do I tell them my final destination? Will they transfer the bag even though the second "leg" isn't really a leg, but a separate flight NOT with them? Thank you!
Hiya! I'm flying from Aus to LAX with Delta, due to arrive in LAX at 7:15am, I then need to re-check for another Delta flight to Vegas at 9:35. Taking into consideration the need to clear customs, immigration, bag collection, etc, is this likely to be enough time? Thanks. :)
By "Aus", I'm assuming you mean Australia, not Austin, Texas. Yes, you have enough time.
Landing in LAX from Maui on United Airlines terminal 6 or 7 or 8 (i think). Connecting to Montreal on Air Canada terminal 2. Do i have to pass security and is 1h11 of connecting time is enough ?
You will arrive in 7 or 8. You will have to go through security again in Terminal 2. You have just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Flying into terminal 2,West Jet flying out terminal 6 American Eagle. Reverse coming back. Both midweek mid day. How long to get between. No luggage concern.
I would want at least an hour between flights both ways, assuming the flight from Canada is precleared.
Separate reservations. Flying into T3 at 10:30am then have to transfer to TBIT for international departure at 12:30pm. 2 hours between the flights and no checked bags. Assuming flights are on time, is this doable and what is the best way to get to TBIT from T3?
Yes, it is possible if the first flight is on-time but there's no time to spare. The best way is to walk.
I have a flight from Vegas to LAX on southwest that lands at terminal 1, i then have 2 hours to get to TBIT for my flight to London, is this enough time to make the connecting flight?
That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. I recommend 3 hours.
Hi! I land at 4:25pm on Air France and depart on Delta at 6:55pm. Is this enough time to clear customs and get to Delta? Thank you!
Yes, that should be enough time if the Air France flight is on-time.
