I will be arrive at noon from Panama on Copa Airlines and have 3 hours to make a connection with SkyWest. Is that sufficient time. Also I believe COPA arrives at terminal 6. Is the Immigration, baggage pickup and Customs services conducted in that Terminal or -do we go to the International Terminal for that. (on Foot or by bus).. I am ticketed on one reservation. Where do I deposit the baggage for the connecting flight with SkyWest. How do I get to the SkyWest terminal and how long will that take by walking or/and by airport shuttle.
What airline is your Skywest flight booked through? Skywest operates flights for 4 different airlines from LAX. Yes, all your immigration procedures will take place in Terminal 6. Is your Skywest flight United Express, Delta Connection, American Eagle, or Alaska Airlines?
The reservation says operated by SkyWest DBA United Express. Thanky you for your prompt reply.
Then you will depart from Terminal 7/8, which is right next to 6.
I don't fly often but I am coming from Sacramento and flying to LAX, then from LAX to Cabo San Lucas, MX. I am flying from American Airlines all the way. Once I land in LA, do I need to go to the international terminal...meaning grab my bags, etc. and restart the whole checking in process or am I ok within my terminal since I am already in the American Airline area? It says I have 51 minutes layover? Is that enough time? Help!
No, all you have to in LAX on your way to Cabo is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 51 minutes is enough time. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
I will be flying from Abu Dhabi to LAX and catching a connecting flight to SLC. This will be my first time flying back into the US. Do I need to recheck my baggage and how will I know where to go? I will have my toddler with me and want to know what I'm doing so it all goes smooth.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Abu Dhabi. What airline are you flying to SLC and are your tickets all on one reservation or two separate reservations?
I am arriving by Cathay Pacific flight from HKG to LUX terminal 6. After that I need ti catch Cathay Pacific flight to LAS from terminal 6. Both flights are on same ticket, and I have 2 hour in-between these flights. My query is that good enough to move from terminal B to 6, and do I need to do immigration at LUX. Also, do I need to collect my check-in luggage (for customs) and again to do the check-in at terminal 6. Although Airline mentioned that 1.5 hrs is required, I want to understand the process so as not to miss my flight to LAS.
I mean LAX instead of LUX
Your flight to LAS will not be on Cathay Pacific, it will be on American. In LAX you will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, walk to Terminal 4 or 6 where your AA flight departs, and go through security. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I am arriving into LAX at 9:03 TBI gate 151. I have no check in luggage, and I a have a connecting in the Terminal 4 gate 41. all the flights with AA. I have 2 hours 12 minutes between flights. Is 2 hours going to be enough to clear customs and move to another terminal? thanks
Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I am arriving into LAX at 2:35pm on 22nd (Eitihad Terminal5). I have no check in luggage, and I have a connecting to Las Vegas (Delta) from Terminal1. It is on a seperate reservation. Delta departs at 5:40p. I have 3hours 5 minutes. Is 3hours going to be enough to clear immigration, customs, move to another terminal, clear TSA security? What can I do to accelerate the process, if I am getting delay? This is my first time in USA, would be it be wise to request someone in the queue to allow me ahead of them if I think I am getting delayed? Would americans take offense from something like that?
Etihad does not use Terminal 5 and Delta does not use Terminal 1. You will arrive in the International Terminal. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi, so you will be led to a special baggage claim, claim your bags, then take them to Terminal 5 to re-check them with Delta, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time if your Etihad flight is on-time.
Sorry, my bad. You are correct. Delta is from Terminal 5. I would be arriving in the International Terminal. Why do you say that I will be pre cleared in Abu Dhabi for Immigration? My Delta flight is to Las Vegas, it is not on the same ticket as the one till LAX. So, are you saying that even if I am on two different tickets, I don't have to clear immigration and clear security at Terminal 5?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi because they have US Immigration and Customs preclearance there. That means that you won't when you arrive in LAX. You will still have to go through security in Terminal 5 after you re-check your bags with Delta.
Hi! I will arrive from TLV with ElAl at 6:30am and will have 3 hours connection, before flying to PDX with Delta. These are two separate reservations. Will I have enough time to collect baggage, go through custom, move to different terminal, etc? Other option is to take a later flight, but it will be 6 hours connection. Which flight would you take? Thanks!
That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
We will arrive into LAX on Delta at 20:50 and have a flight on Air Tahiti at 22:40. Any way to make it with checked bags if ticketed separately or should we do carry ons?
I highly suggest only doing carry-ons, the Air Tahiti Nui check-in desk will close at about 21:10, leaving you only 20 minutes to get off the plane, claim your bags, and get them to the International Terminal, assuming your Delta flight is on-time.
