  • Terminal 4 to 1?

We only have an hour between connecting flights between terminal 1 and terminal 4. Any advice? Will we have to go through security? If we do, will they be nice and help us get through?

That's not enough time. You shouldn't have tried to book that connection. With checked bags that would be completely impossible.

  • AA to AA or AA to Alaska ?

Two adults and five teenage Girl Scouts arriving LAX from Belize and continuing to Portland this summer. Two options availalable -- a 2:45 connection to an American Eagle flight OR a 3:40 connection to an Alaska Airlines flight. LOOKS like American Eagle could save exiting security and having to re-enter, but don't want too tight of a connection (or lots of extra walking/waiting). Either would be a continuous reservation because of codeshares. LOVE any feedback you can offer!

You will be outside security at LAX once you go through US Immigration and Customs. Either connection should be enough time, but you will have to go through security again at LAX.

I am flying out of terminal 4 this Thursday night, and my friend is flying out the same time out of terminal 7. We both have 3 hours to kill for the layover in lax. Are we able to meet halfway between both terminals to grab dinner WITHOUT walking outside the terminal to the curbside?

No, the only terminals at JFK that are connected inside security are 2 and 4.

Sorry, I thought you were at the wrong airport. Yes, you can walk from 4 to 7 inside security using a tunnel between 4 to 5 to 6 and then a walkway to 7.

Arriving from MEM via Delta at 5:15. Do we have enough time to get our bags and clear security for an 8:15p.m. Norwegian Air depart? Or best to choose an earlier option??

Yes, that's enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Is 35 minutes enough time?

We'll be connecting on Delta from SLC to OGG, with only a 35 minute change time (Delta schedule change). Never been to LAX before - is this enough time?

And we won't have any checked luggage, it's a morning flight.

As long as your flight from SLC is on-time that should be enough time. It obviously leaves no time to spare if it is delayed.

How much time should I allow for connections coming in on Southwest and going out at 12:45pm to Tokyo on a weekday Also; what is the best way to get from Terminal 1 to the international Terminal? Thanks!

The best way between terminals is to walk. If you have checked bags try to arrive at LAX before 9:45 AM.

  • terminal 4 to terminal 2 & immigration (international traveller)

hi, iam have flight from Vancouver to Doha with 6 hr layover in lax.is this sufficient time go through immigration & costume. & change of terminal 4 to terminal 2. i have to go through immigration at terminal to again.?i have non immigrant visa.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. If both tickets are on the same reservation and you are flying AA to LAX, you just have to take the American Eagle remote terminal shuttle to Terminal 4, then walk to Terminal 2 and go through security. There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US.

I have a 15 yr old arriving on American term 4 and connecting to Cathay Pacific international terminal. Is it a complicated transit? Is it walkable? Any Tips? Thanks !

Yes, it is walkable. There is now a walkway inside security from Terminal 4 to the International Terminal. If bags are checked through and he or she already has their boarding pass they can go straight to their departure gate in the International Terminal.

What is the quickest way to get from terminal 3 to 4 at LAX? Are there tunnels connecting yet, or must you take a shuttle?

3 and 4 are not connected by tunnels. the fastest way is to walk along the curbfront.

Do all international flights land at bradley cooper terminal? Arriving in may at lax with united.

No, United International flights except flights from Australia arrive in Terminal 7. United flights from Australia arrive in the International Terminal because the immigration facility in Terminal 7 isn't open that early in the morning.

Hi, Arriving 0600 on Qantas, hoping to connect to an 0815 flight to Orlando, not on same booking, is it enough time to make the connection - if not how much should I allow, Thanks.

With checked bags I would advise against this. I recommend at least 3 hours for two separate reservations with checked bags when coming from an International flight.

Thanks for the reply Zap, will organise my connections accordingly.

I'm a first time flyer and flying United in June to LAX with a stopover of 6.30 am -9 am. I will have checked luggage and want to know if I have enough time to connecting flight. What happens with Luggage,Customs and which gates do I go to? Thanks.I'm glad I found this site.

You will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, follow signs for connecting passengers, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then exit the international terminal and walk to your right (with the flow of traffic). The fourth building you come to will be Terminal 7, go inside and through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

This is a great site for travel advice especially a first time traveller like me.Many thanks as the travel agent gave me no info at all and actually told me my bags would automatically go on to Chicago plus the UA site said otherwise.

  • American Eagle gate 44 to terminal 6.

I arrive at 1:30 pm today at American Eagle remote terminal. Does the shuttle bus only go to main terminal 4 or can I get to terminal 6 for an Alaska Flight at 2:30pm? Flights booked separately

I believe there is a shuttle bus to Terminal 6. However, if you have checked bags you will have to go to Terminal 4 to claim them, in which case you don't have enough time for this connection.

I arrive into la at 9:05 and have booked a flight with american airlines at 12:02. Will that be enough time for me to make the flight?

What airline are you flying on the first flight? Where are you coming from? I can't answer your question without that info.
