Hi I am flying from Boston to LAX on delta. i arrive at terminal 8 at 9:30 pm and have my connecting flight to Sydney on Quantas airlines at 10:55. How do I get to the inetrnational terminal from T8? Thanks!
Delta does not use Terminal 8. You will arrive in Terminal 5. Do you have checked bags and are your tickets purchased on two separate reservations or one reservation?
Hi, I arrive LAX International Terminal on Korean Air from Incheon Korea at 15:10, then have connecting flight "COMPASS AIRLINES doing business as AMERICAN AIRLINES" at 18:20. Both tickets are on the same reservation, through Korean Air. Question: is there a compass Airlines re-check desk there, upon clearing immigration and do I have enough time? Also, where to find the walkway from Int. terminal in LAX to terminal 6? Thank you.
You won't find a Compass desk anywhere, you will look for stuff marked American. Anyway, your bags will be checked through to your final destination, but in LAX you will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go outside and walk along the roadside to Terminal 6, go inside, get your AA boarding pass if Korean can't issue it, then go through security and take the shuttle bus to your departure gate in the American Eagle remote terminal. You should have enough time.
Thank you. Which terminal is the American Eagle "remote terminal"? I looked on-line and found a map of LAX, which lists American at Terminal 4 and 6, and American Eagle at Terminal 4. There isn't a remote terminal listed anywhere, unless it is at the far end of Terminal 6 or 4? If I go to Terminal 6 and get boarding pass from American, then go through security in terminal 6, there is a shuttle bus within terminal 6? Thank you
Hi, could you please clarify this comment you made in relation to my comment directly above? Thank you!
"...then go outside and walk along the roadside to Terminal 6, go inside, get your AA boarding pass if Korean can't issue it, then go through security and take the shuttle bus to your departure gate in the American Eagle remote terminal. You should have enough time."
I am foreigner fly from Japan ANA airline to San Franciso but require to transit at LA under co flight with UA. Do I need to check out my luggage and go through immigration ? Which terminal shall I go? Is 2 hours sufficient ??
In LAX, you will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go outside and walk or take the shuttle to Terminal 7, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I realize that HA will not check my luggage through from HNL to BWI. I am thinking of booking a flight that gives me 2 hr 55 min in LAX. The HA terminal and SW are next to each other. Is that a possible connecting time? Thank you
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hello, we are travelling from YVR to Maui and have to change in LAX. We fly on WestJet from YVR to LAX, arriving Terminal 2, and leave Terminal 5 3 hours later from LAX to Maui on Delta. Westjet and Delta are 'affiliated' and are therefore booked on one ticket.
I realize we clear US Customs in YVR, but what is the transfer process from Terminal 2 to 5? Do we go through customs/security again? Do we have to leave the physical building? Do we need to pick up and recheck our bags? How much time should we allow?
Yes, in LAX, you will leave Terminal 2 and walk or take the shuttle to Terminal 5 then go through security and to your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your bags. You have enough time.
Hello, I have booked a flight from London Heathrow which is to arrive at 2:30pm in LAX Terminal 2. My connecting flight is from LAX Terminal 5 at 5:00pm.
As I've understood, I will need to collect my check-in luggage and then re-check it for my connecting flight.
Will that above time frame be adequate to do this? Is the process of re-checking in quicker somehow or is it basically just like a brand new flight?
Many thanks in advance!
Yes, that should be enough time. If your bags are tagged to your final destination you can drop them at the re-check desk in Terminal 2 rather than having to take them with you to Terminal 5. Also, Virgin should be able to issue both boarding passes in London.
