I have a layover at LAX in May from 11:06am to 12:15pm. I am flying with American Airlines, my connecting flight is on American Eagle. I will be going from LAX to SMF so it is a domestic flight. Will I have enough time to get to my next gate and catch my connecting flight?

Where are you flying into LAX from? If it's domestic that should be enough time. You will likely have to take the shuttle bus to the American Eagle remote terminal for your flight to Sacramento.

Is 90 minutes enough time to land in LAX coming from Newark and then catching a UA flight to Sydney?

If the flight from Newark is also on United, then yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do in LAX is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 7.

  • T6 to T4 on American Airlines

We are traveling to Las Vegas next week with a connecting flight through LAX. We have a terminal change from T6 to T4 with a 45 min layover. What is the best (and quickest) way to go from terminal to terminal. I am traveling with a toddler so I do not want to miss our connection. Is it true that I will have to go through security again? Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

You do not have to go through security again. There is a tunnel inside security connecting T6 and T4 through T5.

Hello, My party is traveling from San Jose to Tokyo with a 45 minute connection in Los Angeles. Both legs are Delta flights but I'm worried that we will have to change terminals because the second delta flight is international. Does anyone know??

You will arrive in Terminal 5 or 6 and depart from Terminal 5. They are connected inside security by a tunnel. You have enough time.

I am flying from RDU to LAX and have a 1 hour 50 minute connection to Sydney on Virigin Australia. Can I check my bags all the way through and is that enough time?

What airline are you flying to LAX? Are your tickets on one reservation or two separate reservations? I can't answer your question without that information.

  • Layover
    Mar 22, 2016
I will arrive from BNE on Virgin Australia and departing Delta at T5 (all booked on one ticket), there is only a 2 hr layover...will that be enough time

That is barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Departure/ Arrival gates

How can I find out arrival and departure gates for flights in June? They are not on my E-tickets. Coming from Anchorage to Portland to LAX then on to Atlanta. All Delta flights.

Almost all Delta flights use Terminal 5. A small number of flights use Terminal 6, which is connected to Terminal 5 by a tunnel inside security.

I've got a midweek AA flight arriving 7:37 pm at Terminal 6 and 11:20 pm departure to Brisbane Australia on Qantas. Is that enough time to transfer luggage, check-in and the TSA recheck?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

They moved my lax depart time on my return flight. What about a 6:30 am inbound from Brisbane and outboard at 10:05 from term 6? That route back adds in customs / immigration to the mix.

Yes, that should be fine too.

Last question. My AA domestic flights are partners with my Qantas, therefore AA has their own flight numbers associated with my Qantas flights ( flight QF 16 on Qantas is also listed as AA 7409). It would be great to be able to use the AA flight number on my Qantas booked flight and avoid the whole checked bag handling/ checkin and TSA mess at LAX. Is that even possible? (The Qantas booking part was included in the complete vacation package where LAX was the only departing airport I could use)

In Nashville you should be able to show your Qantas confirmation to the AA agent and get your bags checked to Brisbane, although they are not obligated to. On the way back they could do the same, but you would still have to claim your bags in LAX to go through US Customs, the only difference is that you could then re-check them at the re-check desk in the International Terminal right after customs vs. having to take them to Terminal 4 or 6 to re-check.

    Thanks for all your help

  • Brisbane to LAX to Detroit MI
    Mar 21, 2016
Is 2 and 1/2 hour layover typically enough time to depart my international flight from BNE and claim my bags at LAX and reboard a flight to Detroit? How far is the international terminal from the domestic terminal for Virgin Australia?

Virgin Australia does not fly domestic flights in the US. Your flight to Detroit will be operated by Delta and depart from Terminal 5. You will arrive in the International Terminal. You should have enough time.

  • TBIT internal connection
    Mar 20, 2016
If I fly into TBIT on Copa and leave on Cathay for HKG also from TBIT, do I need to go through immigration and customs? Would 1 hour 40 mins be enough time for the connection? Thanks.

You have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags with Cathay, and go through security. That is not enough time for that connection.

  • Terminal change
    Mar 20, 2016
My arrival is Hawaiian Airlines, Terminal 2, at 740 AM. I depart with Southwest (Terminal 1, I guess) at 1050AM. Almost 3 hours. I will be claiming checked bags and rechecking them with southwest. Is that enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • Qantas SYD-LAX arrive 6.30am then T2 departure to Mexico at 11am
    Mar 20, 2016
Gives me 4.5 hours to clear immigration, get backs, then go to T2 and recheck backs and go through security again. All good???

Yes, as long as the flight from Sydney is on-time that should be plenty of time.

  • LAX to MEL

Hi - Ive made 2 separate bookings with my 1st flight (domestic) arriving Tuesday at 8pm with Virgin America. My next flight is at 10:15pm with Qantas. I have 1 checked you think I can make the connection?

You barely have enough time if everything goes perfectly. You'll habve to claim your bag from Virgin America in T3 and re-check it with Qantas in the International Terminal before 9:15.

I will arrive to LAX with AA 596 at 6:49 pm and connect with AF 76 at 11:55 PM for Papeete. Do I have enough time to collect my luggage and board my flight?

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • Connecting Flights from LAX (Terminal 5) To San Diego (Terminal 2)
    Mar 17, 2016
Hi, I have a connecting flight from PH to LAX to San Diego with a layover time of 1 hour 10 mins from LAX to San Diego. I bought the ticket online under 1 itinerary for all connections. Do I have time to go through all the legalities (immigration, baggage check out check in) given that it's only an hour? Or do I ask the online ticketing to adjust my time?

Hi, I forgot to include that im flying with delta (from ph-narita) then compass dba delta from lax to san diego. Thanks.

1 Hour 10 minutes is not enough time for an International to Domestic connection at LAX. Also, your flight to SAN will not be from Terminal 2 - Delta does not use Terminal 2. It will also be in Terminal 5.
