  • Terminal seven to international terminal

I am arriving at terminal seven and would like the easiest and quickest way to make this transfer. Will I leave and renter security in this process?

Exit T7, walk to your left for about 10 minutes and you will come to the International Terminal. You will have to go through security again in the International Terminal.

Hi, I will be flying in on Air Tahiti Nui landing at LAX at 11:10 AM. I'm planning on taking a 2:00 PM flight onward to JFK on United. These will be booked separately so I assume I'll have to collect and recheck bags. I am global entry and both flights will be on business class. Is this doable?

Yes, with global entry I think that would be doable. I made essentially the same connection a few years ago (arrived Air Tahiti Nui at 10:25 AM departed United at 1:14 PM) and it was enough time.

I'm travelling from LHR to LAX. Then I have a connecting flight to LAS. I have 1 hour 40 mins in between flights. Is that enough time to get through customs and get from terminal 4 to terminal 1? The flights were booked at the same time and are with AA. Thank you

AA nor any of its partner airlines use Terminal 1. If both flights are operated by American they will both be in Terminal 4 and you should have enough time. You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Hi, our domestic flight from Orlando to LAX has been pushed back, leaving us only 1 hour to get to our international flight back to Sydney. Is this feasible or have we just lost a lot of money?

What airlines are you flying? Are all your tickets on the same reservation or separate? I can't answer your question without this information.

We are flying United Orlando>LA then QANTAS LA>Sydney on separate reservations.

There's no way you can make that. But since the schedule change for the United flight was involuntary you can either get a refund for that portion or change to an earlier flight to LAX, likely connecting in Houston. You need to contact the outlet that you booked your United ticket with to get it changed.

I have contacted United and they would not provide a refund unfortunately. We are now on the flight via Houston.

Hi! My daughter is flying from Orlando to Brisbane with Delta landing in Terminal 5 at 9:48pm and leaving from Tom Bradley Terminal at 11:20pm (with Qantas). It is all on one ticket so her luggage should be checked through. That only gives her 1h30, would that be enough time? will she have to go through passport control in TBIT terminal? Thanks

There is no Passport control when leaving the US, but she will have to go through security in the TBIT. She will show her passport to the gate agent when she boards the plane to Brisbane. She has just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • LAX to Toronto

Hi, I am flying Virgin Australia from Brisbane to LAX landing in Tom Bradley terminal at 6:55am. I am looking to purchase a flight from LAX to Toronto with West Jet that departs at 8:45am. I would have to collect my luggage as it isn't on one ticket. Would this be enough time? Or am I better getter an 11am flight with Delta? Thanks

I would get the 11 AM Delta flight - under two hours on two separate tickets with checked baggage is pretty risky.

Hi, I'm flying from Toronto, Canada to Adelaide, Australia through LA and Sydney. I'll get to LAX on Air Canada 1h 45m before having to board my next flight to Sydney which I believe is with Qantas. Would that be enough time?

If all tickets are on the same reservation that should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. In LAX you arrive in Terminal 2, walk to the International Terminal, get your Qantas boarding pass if you don't already have it, and go through security.

  • Connecting between LAX T5 to T2

Hello I am connecting between T5 (from SFO) to T2 (going to LHR) both on Delta with hand bags only. I have 2 hours for the connection. Is this enough time? Do I have to go through Security? Thanks

Delta does not use Terminal 2. If your flights are both on Delta then they will be in Terminal 5 and all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If your second gate is on Virgin Atlantic it will depart from Terminal 2 and you have to go through security. You have plenty of time.

Correct. Its a Virgin code share but booked via Delta. Can you advise of the estimated time? Thanks

The bare minimum to make this connection would be about an hour. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from T5 to T2.

  • Delta flight connection to Alaskan Air International flight

We are flying Delta from Phx to L:AX and catching an Alaska Air flight to Lareto, Mexico. Will we be able to check our bags all the way through with Delta or will we need to retrieve bags from Delta and check back in with Alaskan Air? Also, what is the walking distance between Delta and Alaskan.

Are your tickets on one reservation or two separate ones? If they are one reservation then your bags will be transferred. If two separate then you will have to claim your bags from Delta and re-check them with Alaska. Delta is in T5 and Alaska is in T6, so right next to each other.

  • Flying into LAX on Delta to catch a connecting Delta flight

My family is flying into LAX on Delta and catching a connecting flight that is also with Delta. Will we arrive and depart in the dame terminal? If not will we need to go through security to get to the other terminal? We have 3 children under the age of 5 so trying to have a good idea of what will need to be prepared for. We have 1 hour and 30 minutes between our flights.

Where are you coming from and where are you you going to? I can't answer your question without that information.

IND to LAX connecting to PHX, all Delta flights

All tickets are on the same reservation

Both flights will likely be in Terminal 5 (although there is a small chance one could be in Terminal 6). All gates are connected inside security. All you have to do in LAX is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

sorry missed time of connection from last post arrive LAX 1530 depart 1700 for Hilo

Hi I've been suggested to fly from Heathrow to LAX arriving 1530 and then connecting with an onward flight to Hilo Hawaii both with Delta on the same ticket? Is this a non starter or if feasible which terminals, is the bag checked thru or do I need to collect and clear immigration, customs etc? I believe next delta flight to Hilo is a couple of days later!

Delta does not fly from LAX to Hilo. The only airline that does is United, so a ticket booked all through Delta would probably include a connection in Honolulu. Delta also does not fly from Heathrow to LAX so that flight would be operated by Virgin Atlantic. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, and re-check your bags, and go through security in LAX.

you're spot on it was united not delta-got confused - thanks for your help, much appreciated

  • Flying Mont > Aust via LAX stopover, will I need to recheck bags?

Hi, I am flying Montreal to LAX (Air Canada) and have a 12 hour stopover and am then flying Qantas to Brisbane, Australia. Will I need to collect bags at LAX and then recheck them?

If your tickets were purchased on two separate reservations then you will need to claim them in LAX and re-check them with Qantas in the International Terminal. If they are on one reservation then they will be transferred to Qantas.

Thanks. I booked them on SkyScanner in one transaction so I guess that means they'll be transferred

  • Terminal 8 to Terminal 2

How much time do I need to go from Terminal 8 to Terminal 2 in LAX airport? I have 1 hour and 10 minutes to connect? Walk or airport shuttle? Thanks in advance for your help.!

I would walk. You have enough time if your bags are checked through to your second flight or if you don't have checked bags. You will have to go through security again in Terminal 2. The walk takes about 15 minutes. The fastest route is to go straight across the parking garages from 7/8 to 2.

I'm travelling with children from Brisbane to Lax in October on QF15 arriving at 6am. I'm looking at booking a flight to Orlando - there is one on VAmerica at 8:55am or a delta flight at 9:50am. Will this be enough time to clear customs, collect baggage and then get to terminal and check baggage in? Thanks

    Yes, either flight would work.

    Ok great! Thank u!
