  • domestic to international connection

Hi I am arriving on United Express from ABQ at 342pm, I depart on Delta at 638pm for Tokyo, is that enough time to connect... my travel agent is saying it's not a legal connection...

You could take a train to Termini and spend maybe an hour or 2 there before you would have to come back.

  • Tranfer time between T6 and TBIT

Arriving at T6 from Anchorage at 10.15pm 15/8. Connecting to a China Airlines flight that departs at 01.55 on 16/8 from TBIT. Will I have enough time to make this transfer and flight? These are separate flights so I have to pick up my bags at T6 and get them checked in again at TBIT. Thanks.

If you bought your tickets together they will be transferred automatically to China Eastern and checked through to MNL and you won't have to claim and re-check them in YVR.

Thank you so much for the info.

  • Arriving Skywest and departing Air Canada

I will have 1 hr 45 min to make a connection in LAX.. I don't think there is anyway of doing this inside a secure area. Means exiting the building and then shuttle, walk (what do people recommend) and going through security again. to get to Air Canada in terminal 2. What is your suggestions for a smooth transition? This will be about 7 a.m.

  • 1 hour connection time with United

I will be flying into LAX from Denver on a United Airlines flight, then onwards to Narita on a United Airlines flight also. The connection time is 1 hour and 1 minute only. Would that be enough time to make it to the next flight? I believe the terminal for the incoming and outgoing flights are both in terminal 7. Thanks.

If you're in the same terminal, that should be OK. You'll do int'l check-in in Denver, and then just have to deplane and head to the other gate. If it's another terminal, it'll be tough. Are you sure you aren't heading out from TBIT?

If I am sitting towards back of a 777-ER arriving at LAX (TB) on international flight is 3 hr layover enough to get through customs etc and catch my domestic flight in T5. All flights booked via delta.

  • Connecting flight in one hour.... enough time?

I am travelling from Los Cabos, Mexico to LAX, then connecting to another flight to London Heathrow, I have a layover at LAX of just over an hour, will this be enough time to clear security/ customs and get to the next gate?

JFK has no T3 - El Al uses Terminal 4. Yes, you have plenty of time to transfer the bags yourself if necessary.

I have only 43 minute layover time at LAX from PHX. I'm departing to Narita with the same terminal (Terminal 5 gate 52 arrival from Phoenix, departure to Narita at gate 69B) a shown in my eTicket. I'll be travelling with Delta all the way. Will I have enough time to move from gate 52 to 69B? Do I need to go to security checkpoint again? Thanks.

I have about one hour to connect between Terminal 7 to International (ANA airline). Do I need to go thru the security check point again?

Yes, you'll have to go through a second time if you exit the terminal. Ask your flight attendant on the DEN-LAX flight, they may have an operations-level bus to take you direct to the Int'l Terminal. If so, no security checkpoint.

  • Air Tahiti Nui to/from Southwest

We arrive in LAX via Air Tahiti Nui at 10:15 with a connecting flight on SWA at 1:50. Unfamiliar with the process from Tahiti, have I given myself enough time for the entire process? Thank you!

Yes, you should have plenty of time. You will arrive in the TBIT, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, and go through US Customs. Then you will have to take your baggage with you to T1 either via the inter-terminal shuttle bus that runs on the lower level or via walking along the curbfront on either the upper or lower level. You would walk to the left as you exit the TBIT (against the flow of traffic). You will then have to check your bags with Southwest, get your Southwest boarding passes, and go through security.

  • DELTA Connecting flight

I am flying from PHX to Bangkok(BKK) on DELTA. I will arrive at terminal 5 gate 52A, then will depart from terminal 5 gate 68B. I looked at the terminal map, and could not find gate 68B in terminal 5. It's in terminal 6. So, what terminal is exactly gate 68B in? DELTA's flight details always show terminal 5 gate 68B. In case that they are in different terminals. Do I need to exit terminal 5 and go through the TSA checkpoint again? I have only 43 minutes between the flight. Will I have enough time? Thank you for your help!

Yes gate 68B is in Terminal 6; however, while T5 is exclusively used by Delta - T6 is being used by Alaska, Copa, Great Lakes & United airlines. Do check with Delta again. If you need to connect to T6, you need to take the tunnel connector, reached by escalators from the baggage claim level - then go through security check & on to your connecting gate. No time to waste!

  • 1 hr 40mins connection

Hi We're travelling on United from Sydney to LAX (arr 10:40), then onto United Express flight to Kelowna, Canada (dep 12:20). We're arriving at T6 or 7, departing from T8. Is 1 hour 40 mins enough for this connection?

No time to waste! On arrival you need to go through passport check, pick up your bags, go through customs clearance & re-check-in your bags where indicated. Then go through security check and on to Terminal 8 with gates 80-88. Terminals 6, 7 & 8 are connected at their secured areas - count on additional 15 minute transfer.

  • Southwest Terminal 1 to United Terminal 7 - How?
    May 20, 2014

Hi, what is quickest way to get from Term 1 to Terminal 7? Do I have to go through security again at Terminal 7? I have 2hrs. Is this enough time to retrieve bags, recheck bags and go through security again? (Flying in with Southwest and out to HNL with United). Thank you!

You have to take your bags on the shuttle bus that runs on the lower level or, you can walk across the center of the airport on the lower level (through/past the parking garages). You will then have to check your bags and go through security and to your departure gate. You will barely have enough time if your Southwest flight is on-time.

If you bought both flights on one ticket, your bags will be transferred automatically - if not, check with Southwest first; if you would need to take your bags along & re-check them in at T7 your time will be tight. Between T1 & T7 are two big parking garages - without bags you can walk between them to the other side. OR use the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stop after T1 would be T2, T3, TBIT, T4 to T7 - 7 stops or about 18 mins. In both instances you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate.

Your bags will not be transferred automatically, Southwest does not interline bags with any other airline. tumay - stop giving bad advice.

  • Terminal 6 to TBIT

Flying Alaska Air (presumably to T6), then transfer to TBIT to BA for London. 1) Do we have to leave security and re-enter? 2) Do we have to pickup checked baggage and move it with us?

Yes you will have to go through security in the TBIT after your transfer. If you purchased your tickets separately you will have to transfer the bags between terminals yourself.
