My hubby is flying out of terminal 4 & Im flying out of terminal 3 with about 2hr difference. Can we go through security together to eat dinner then go our separate way without going through security again?
No, you cannot. Terminal 3 is not connected to any other terminals inside security.
I am flying from Melbourne, to LAX, to Chicago, and then Ottawa. My concern is: will a two hour layover time in LAX to Chicago be sufficient?
On my way home, I am flying from Chicago to LAX. I have about an hour layover for my LAX to Melbourne flight. I fear it may too short. Would you recommend me booking a flight that has a longer layover?
I forgot to mention that I am flying with United on all flights.
Yes, 2 hours in LAX should be just enough time. On your return all you have to do in LAX is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in T7, you again have enough time.
Legend. Thank you so much. I rang up my travel agent and they told me I don't need to go through customs or anything, it's all under one ticket! Regards.
On your way to Ottawa, in LAX, you will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go to Terminal 7 and go through security. On the return, in Ottawa, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs so that you don't have to in Chicago. You will go through US Immigration and Customs once in each direction of your journey, so your travel agent is wrong. You also need to complete ESTA if you are an Australian citizen.
If that's the case, are you sure two hours is enough time for all that?! And on my way back, one hour seems to be pushing it? :|
On your way back 1 hours is definitely enough. On the way there 2 hours should be fine.
I fly into T6 (probably gate 61) on American Airlines arriving at 8:25pm. I need to get to TBIT to get a Qantas flight to Melbourne at 10:15pm. What is the fastest way to get to TBIT? Should I walk? Are there tunnels between T6, T5 and T4?
Yes, there are tunnels between T4, 5, and 6 and then there is a walkway inside security from T4 to the TBIT. You have enough time if your flight into LAX is on-time.
Thanks. One more question ... I cannot see a tunnel between T5 and T4 on any maps of LAX . Do you know where it is located?
It's about half way up the terminals. basically in the same place that connects 5 and 6 AA has taken down their map which showed it, probably to add all the new features that their facility at LAX now has.
I have a similar situation but fly into T5 at 5:12 (non-stop commuter flight form San Diego) on Delta, then need to go to TBIT for a Norwegian Air flight to Copenhagen at 7:30pm. So no need to go through security at TBIT then? I'll be on the right side through terminal 4 tunnel because I saw conflicting info on here I think. Thanks!
Hi I am flying Delta Airlines from JFK to LAX arriving LAX at 9.35pm. At 10.50pm I depart LAX to SYD on the same airline and same ticket. Which terminal will I arrive at and where will I depart from. Will I have enough time for security screening etc?
You will arrive and depart from Terminal 5. You do not have to go through security in LAX. You have enough time.
Hi, I have 2 separate flights, one from PHX to T7 and then to Singapore Air. I only have 1.5 hours between touchdown and take-off. United told me they could give me a boarding pass all the way to Singapore gate and I am planning to use the tunnel and only have a carry-on bag. How comfortable should I be with this timing? Thanks!!
Yes, that should be enough time.
If I can't get a Singapore Air boarding pass in PHX, will I still be OK having to check in? This is a Tuesday early afternoon flight.
Thank you for your help! If I can't get a Singapore Air boarding pass in PHX, will I still be OK having to check in? This is a Tuesday early afternoon flight.
We arrive at LAX from Salt Lake around 9:00pm and then depart just before midnight on the same ticket for Tahiti. We will be checking bags. Will we have enough time? I don't know what terminals.
You will arrive in T5 and depart from the TBIT. YOu will have to have your boarding passes reissued by Air Tahiti Nui at either the gate or the Air Tahiti Nui check-in counter since their system isn't able to receive passport details from other airlines. If you are flying Air France to Tahiti you just have to go to your departure gate.
Hi iFly, We are flying from Cancun to LAX to Melbourne with UA (same ticket) with a 2 hour connection. On arrival at TBIT we need to clear passport control, collect luggage and clear customs. After customs we have been advised we can bag drop our checked luggage at transfer desk. Our flight from LAX to Melbourne departs terminal 7. Are we best to proceed through the security screening checkpoint in the sterile connections area at TBIT and make our connection airside to terminal 7 via the walkay to terminal 4 and tunnels to terminal 7; or are we best to walk outside to Terminal 7 and do security screening again at terminal 7. Your advice is much appreciated.
You will arrive in T7 I believe. But other than that, yes, the procedure is correct and the same. The security line in T7 late in the evening is probably shorter than the one in the TBIT.
We arrive on an AA flight at 11:04 PM and have another AA connection at 11:50 in Sept. Not sure of gates but is this possible to connect and do we need to go through security or anything again?
Where are you flying from and to? I can't help you with the limited amount of information you have provided.
Coming from Kauai Island (LIH) and then to Chicago (ORD). Single ticket.
All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You do not have to go through security. All AA gates in LAX are connected inside security. You have enough time if the flight from Lihue is on-time.
